Grammy-winner Mike Mattison, known for his work with Scrapomatic, The Derek Trucks Band and, most recently, Tedeschi Trucks Band, has announced his second solo LP, Afterglow.
MIKE MATTISON’S “AFTERGLOW” SET FOR A MARCH 20, 2020 RELEASE
Landslide Records has scheduled “Afterglow,” a new release by singer and songwriter extraordinaire, Mike Mattison, for a March 20, 2020 street date. Perhaps best-known for his work in Scrapomatic, the Derek Trucks Band and currently the Tedeschi Trucks Band, with whom he has won Grammy Awards, Mattison presents a startling array of original material that stretches from Americana to Blues and beyond. Mattison co-produced the album with fellow TTB member Tyler Greenwell, who also plays drums. Additional musicians include Dave Yoke (guitars), Franher Joseph (bass), the late Kofi Burbridge (keyboards), Scrapomatic’s Paul Olsen (guitars), and Rachel Eckworth (keyboards). Mattison will perform nationally and overseas with TTB and his own band through 2020. Mattison’s first solo project, “You Can’t Fight Love,” was released by Landslide in 2014.

Thanks, did not know about this. Want to pick it up. Still don't have anything either Scrapomatic or solo and getting something fresh and new is a great way to start. Love his singing on DTB's Already Free, he is ALL over that record.

Mike is one of the most underrated artists out there -- could easily lead any band or have a solo career (not bad for a Harvard guy). His appearance at my 40th b'day (surprise) party with Dave and Paul is an evening I will always cherish. (My wife told me she would have to mortgage the house to get DTB to perform - lol).
First solo record is fabulous and was done through Kickstarter. Highly recommend!
