Thank you all for the birthday wishes - been offline awhile so no I was not ignoring you -
Went to Philly on Friday and naturally put in the "new" cd and when Statesboro starts so do the tears - Wow - I guess I am just overwhelmed that it is the end of the line and that I was only able to capture tix for one night which is going to go by in a flash and then thats it for me - two weeks to go
Hey everyone. Just wanted to mention that I am having a pre-show party this Saturday, the 15th from 4:30 - 7:30pm at Jake"s Dilemma - 430 Amsterdam Avenue - Downstairs. I know that there are other events happening around Galadrielle's book and Kirk's photos. I encourage you to support them both. But know that you are welcome to stop by for some prep if it fits for you. Thanks - Gary
Hello does anybody has some tickets left for the last week of the Beacon run? I've decided -a little bit late- to come to NYC with my son. I'm from the Netherlands in Europe. It's the last optortunity for him and me to see my favourite band for over the last 45 years.

Dave,
It was my great pleasure to be there and I really enjoyed JJB.
In fact, Jaimoe was playing great with the ABB, and was on fire with JBB. The whole band was so hot, they were really coool.

Tim, so many lifetime friends have been made in NYC at the Beacon. Wish that I could have gone this year but it wasn't meant to be. Wonderful memories.
Listening to 3/20/06 and remembering the good times 🙂
I hear ya Marley! I saw the ABB for the first time in 1990 and was blown away. After seeing them at multiple venues on their annual stops in Atlanta, I got to the Beacon in 1999. For 10 straight years through 2009, I was back for a single show some years and as many as 3 in other years. Prices in NYC were a good bit cheaper back then and I had the time of my life on those weekends.
Hanging out at places like P&G, Yogi's, Gin Mill and of course the Hotel Beacon with thousands of fans from across the country and globe was something else. LeftCoast Partys, HospitalitySweeties, Wonwayout's Gin Mill annual bash. Amazing, amazing stuff.
My last trip there was in 2009 and I got to see Clapton play with the band for the final 70 minutes of the show. One of the musical highlights of my life. Wish I could make it back for the festivities this year, but that was a grand way to out.
I met folks there who later invited me to stay with them at the Wanee Festival and this year will be my 9th trip to Spirit of Suwanee Music Park for that fun. I wish I could do both!
What a ride...
Happy birthday, Leah!
I'm probably going to post this kind of message a lot over the next three weeks, but .... I've been on this Allman Brothers ride for 17 years now and that thrill that hits me when I realize it's Beacon time is one of the few things that hasn't changed over that time. I just had that thrill again a few minutes ago because I'm going to the show tonight, and a few more throughout the run. This is becoming an emotional thing for me as I'm trying to come to grips with this being the end of the road, so I'm ready for the celebration.
Happy Day! Happy Day!
