i give a lot of credit to Texas, both coaches and players..they really stepped up..
I hear ya Lefty! It just seemed that the Bama receivers could never get open. McElroy had enough time, but the pocket kept collapsing. Some of those Texas blitzes, especially the outside LB's just made it a tough night for a passing game.
The final score gives the impression that the game was a runaway for Alabama. Anybody who watched knows it wasn't that way!
you kow Rusty, that was my point..Bama was better suited to a running game..hence, the results..
I think McElroy is probably the "best quarterback you've never heard of". Bama has had several heralded QB's in recent years (JP Wilson and Brody Croyle) who were supposedly the "next big thing".
I know that coaching is a big part of it (and Saban and staff are geniuses!), but McElroy has just rather quietly led his team to an undefeated National Championship season.
Like the last champion QB, Jay Barker - McElroy is surrounded by talent!
Lot's of credit all around, but the Bama defense stood in there when it counteed!
I find it interesting that McELroy hasn't lost a game that he started since the 8th grade! Charmed or talented, the guy just wins!
May the ticket gods be with you
peace and love--scotty
it was a great game to watch Rusty..
As for McCoy, it was interesting to note that if the Tide had lost McElroy, they probably would not have skiped a beat, based on last night's game circumstances..(2) 100 yard rushers!!

Congratulations to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide!
As a fan of the game, I hated to see McCoy go out like that. The TRUE Freshman replacement was incredible! Had his receivers caught some of his passes that bounced out of their hands the outcome could've been different.
Watching Colt McCoy's post game interview was tough. This champion wanted to be in the game and you could tell he was fighting back the tears. He's a class act if I've ever seen one! I hope that his shoulder injury can be repaired.
The biggest kudos go to the Bama "D"! Defense wins championships, and so it was last night!
Roll Tide !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Bum, good to see you posting!
No email P-o-G for me, so I'm still in the dark. Oh well.
Not sure if I will make to NY............if I do, it will be last minute. Plane fare, hotel, tix, food...........just may not be possible....but NEVER SAY NEVER. Praying for a shed show this summer.....smaller venues are nice but you don't get a long show. Hope So. Fla gets a show again this year.
Ca, the Manatees are flocking here too. Poor animals are cold.....boaters, be careful, so many Manatees are killed by careless boaters. 32 last night in West Palm Beach...........pray our lettuce, citrus & strawberry crops are not destroyed. Will be cold again this weekend.
Is Mother Nature trying to tell us something????

Wow, POG one day and pre-sale (for a different venue) the next. I have not been feeling well (back) and didn't have time to think about it. I may try the regular sale, but will do moogis.
Phyllis wants to go to Wanee anyhow, so maybe this is the year.
I hope Gregg is serious about renting us a place to party before and after the show. There is really nothing in the neighborhood that can compare to Blondies, The Bear Bar, Big Nick's , The Dublin House, The West End Brewery etc.....
The parking situation also is prohibitive in the neighborhood. I hope these issues are getting looked into. The 2 lots that are available before shows raise their prices thru the roof whenever there is a show at The Palace. Street parking in that part of the city will be non existent. Last year I was able to find spots for 5 of the 6 shows I went too within 7-8 blocks of The Beacon.
I'm wondering why The WAMU THEATRE in The Garden wasn't considered as a possible venue. Easily accessible for everybody with plenty of bars and dining in the neighborhood.
Gregg's calling it an experiment for now. I'll chime in after the experiment is over the end of March.
prices are in line for comparable shows in and around the city. Aretha Franklin is doing a show in Englewood with ticket prices ranging from $ 125.00 to $ 275.00. Clapton/Beck in The Garden ranges from $ 65.00 to $ 275.00. Broadway shows which are a major risk since you have no idea what your getting in return range from $ 75.00 to $ 300.00. Dickey who recently played his last show in an old synagogue/church on 64th street was charging $ 60.00 and $ 70.00 per ticket to sit in an old pew. For me the $ 60.00 was money I was going to spend anyway since if Dickey , Gregg or Derek are in town I buy the ticket. For this particular run at The Palace it was important for me to have an opportunity to buy the $ 60.00 and $ 100.00 seats before the general public. The pre sale system works for all of us in different ways. I used to chase the best orchestra and loge seats. Now I chase the best cheapest seats I can find. Should I be spending money on The Brothers right now? probably not is the logical answer. Sitting in The balcony at The Wellmont the other night listening to Gregg play his ass off was all I needed to hear to send me to my home computer last night at 8pm to buy tickets for this years run.
What's the scoop....betty boop?
Hey there sweet family,
Here's a link to a story and 5 minute video about the United Palace:

Take care and know that you are loved,

Yes Bum - thanks I could not remember the name - interesting stuff under the glass tops on the tables - so long ago - and a train going around the room near the ceiling if I am remembering correctly
Hey everyone long time no post. Great to see so many familiar "faces". Unfortunately NYC is too rich for me this year. Unlike at the Beacon where the "cheap" seats can be very good if they are far down in the balcony, at the Palace those $60 seats ($72 with fees) are limited to only the back final 9 rows of the house. A decent seat will cost $113 with fees. I was supposed to buy 4, one for Dad, bro, and bro-inlaw but $452 would break the bank. Sad cause this will be the first year for me since 1993 that I won't see the ABB in NYC. Love ya ABB but this was bad year to raise prices. Hopefully there will be a summer tour and I can catch em at a shed. In the mean time I'll just have to be happy with Mule (NYE was INCREDIBLE), Crowes and Furthur whose tix are 40-50 bucks. Carol, I bet all those Manatees are in the river desperately looking for warm water, temps in the sound and gulf are freakishly low. BLD2, could that restaurant have been the Bubble Room? Great place!
Wow Carol - I've been to Fort Myers - many years ago the law firm I worked for had a condo there and I honeymooned there and Disney World - remember a very interesting restaurant there on Sanibel Island -
