Woo-hoo!! Just snagged a couple of tix for the Jeff Beck show at Chastain Park, June11!!! Ought to be great!!
I was 2 and my parents were listening to Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Ann Wilson, early Elvis, The Four Freshmen, Johnny Mathis etc around the house. They didn't get into 60s or 70s rock but always had good music playing around the house.
Ahh you young pup, lefty!
I was also in 10th grade and our paths may have crossed, Jim Hedderman! It was the only time I got to see Duane and it left an impression on me that I still carry to this day. Probably had something to do with my employment with HTN for the past 18 years as well - grin!

Congratulations, Rowland! ReadSoft is lucky to have you in their organization (just like we here are lucky to have you and your lovely bride providing us this little cyber-home :winky: ).
I was in the 10th grade in 1971. They were my heros, too. My first concert was the ABB on 1-16-1971 at the old municipal auditorium in Atlanta. That was the first show where Hot 'Lanta was played.
Happy Birthday to Goliath!
Thanks Randy...it was quite the day...
a long, fun, day.
1971,,,I was a senior in High School, diggin' the 'Bros and Duane...by then, everyone where I lived knew who and what Duane and the ABB were.
They were my heros, and still are today. What a glorius time.
Dead on, Lefty. What were you doing in 1971? How odd was what the Brothers were doing in 1971? How different, how off the beaten path? Add that to the grueling touring--selling this new concept via live shows, as opposed to radio air play? When you look at this music in context to the time when it was created, you get the real picture of what these young men accomplished in the very short window we had them as a group.
Had a great time at Moe's Friday. Man, I really like that place. It's like a reversion back to the neighborhood concept. Lots of trees, residences interspersed with businesses. Lots of pedestrians. People came to Moe's with kids, were obviously a more educated bunch than my everyday world.
Very refreshing, and good food too.
Brent didn't mention that he only has partial vision in one eye, and was continually having to keep the sweat out of it in the muggy afternoon. First time I ever really listened to him solo, and was really impressed with his voice. He did some of the more obscure MTB stuff, killer Walking and Talking My Blues. Also some obscure Dickey, and several original compositions. Several on the resonator.
They played 3 complete DVD's while I was there....music was on inside, video only outside where Brent and all the patrons were. North Miss. Allstars, DTB's Songlines, and a WSP DVD. Yeah....I like this place!
Congrats to Rowland, Happy Birthday to Goliath.
Good to hear Bluefox's Dad is back home.

Thanks for the update, Libby. Sending loving thoughts and healing vibes to Carol and her dad.
Last Saturday, I posted that bluefox' Dad was hospitalized with pneumonia... he's home and doing pretty well. Carol asked me to express her thanks for the thoughts and prayers, she's been with her dad and hasn't had an opportunity to check in.
peace and love...
Is anybody watching Wanee on Moogis? If so, i've paid the upgrade and can't seem to pull up the live stream....can anybody out there help?? Thanks
