As the last show is in progress, I think about how much happiness The ABB has brought to my life. Thanks to Duane Allman for having the vision to create the best band in the land. Thanks to Dickey Betts for inspiring me to play guitar…wish I had even 10% of your talent. Thanks to all the musicians who ever played in the band, over 45 years…I have enjoyed listening to every incarnation there ever was. Thanks to all the music that came from the band members in their own projects…DB+GS, GAF, DTB, Gov't Mule to name a few. Thanks to Lana and Rowland for giving us likeminded people a place to find each other, and make a family here. I met so many people, in person and in the virtual world. We have all shared so many great times and have so many memories that will make me smile for years to come. The people here have actually been more special to me than anything else. The Beacon Parties ( Gotta love the Sweeties!), the family jams, could only happen because we had this band and its music in common. So, although I'm not the first one to say it…"Don't cry because its over..smile because it happened". With great love to all the people I am glad shared this experience with me, I hope our paths will come together again. Mitch

I don't get around here very often anymore. Oh, I remember the days when I would get home from work and the first thing I would do would be to check in here. Thank you, Rowland and Lana, for the creation of this website and for your friendship. All of my friends are either musicians or music fans - many of my best friendships were cultivated on this website. I wish that The Road Could Go On Forever but I know that it cannot. I'm enjoying my retirement and they should enjoy theirs. Special people, special times as a result of ABB. I will be forever grateful. May The Circle Be Unbroken.....

It's been a great ride and I don't begrudge the band from going their separate ways now. Like the rest of us, they should all be free to pursue whatever opportunities they choose. We certainly don't own them and they owe us nothing at this point. And what a legacy of music they leave behind for us. Those brilliant tracks will continue to play on in our house, to infinity...and beyond!!! (Sure, I'll miss standing behind a group of Personal Injury lawyers at the Beacon and watching them film each song, with their backs to the band, just before they passed out for the entire second set...those were "good times". But hey, I caught The Who's first "Farewell Tour" in 1982, and never expected them to still be grinding it out 20 years later, so who knows??? ) Meanwhile, people who choose to debate the merits of using scalpers in the modern age don't understand that the bands "are" the scalpers. And that's okay...but how naive are we? It's the music BUSINESS. Seriously, thanks to all of you who shared your love of all things ABB over the years. Hope to see you somewhere down the road - wherever good taste meets epic talent! PS Thank you Rowland and Lana for making all of this possible. Peace.

Here's hoping tonight is a great ending ! I can't believe what a wonderful ride we have all been on. And I think it does go on forever in whatever incarnations we see in the future. They are all still great musicians and I am sure we will get to see them down the road. 🙂

The First gig, Jax Beach that night the band established a identity. Duane changed the way they did DWYNMore, no band sounded like they did and still do. To grow old enjoying ABB music has been a pleasure. Thanks for the Good Times.

Having the Allman Brothers as a constant in my life has been security blanket against the trials and tribulations of life- to be able to put on a recent show and dive into the nuances and shear beauty of the most intense band of my generation- what a pleasure and honor- Thank you tapers and the ABB management for letting these shows circulate- Love to all the band and crew and nothing but good health and long life to all- a side dish-!! being a New York Jets fan for the more than the 45 years of the ABB reign has left me with too numerous wasted Sundays watching my football boys- f... up sheeeeit dont want to git into dat! Allman Brothers GOOD- Jets not so good- hope the shoe is freakin unreal tonight- and you tapeheads stay alert- watch those dials and watch the beer! Caint believe its comin to an end- Sal

Hey good people, I posted this on the forum and although I dont come around like I used to figured it would eb good to post here as well. Its been a hell of a ride! For me, this is a day to celebrate the music and just reminisce about the incredible family I have met on this site since 97 when all we had was the guestbook to chat with. To the first get togethers at the Beacon hotel and the mega blowout last party at the Beacon hotel, and just seeing everyone at shows in general. And on and on. Memories that i will cherish forever. we will always have the live recordings to keep us warm at night and as for the people, well we just need to make sure the road does goes on forever. As the man says, Y'all a great bunch!
