Leftcoast, westcoast, leftcoast, pleeeeeeeeeze.
I agree with Red Dog. The only way to nurture and gain a westcoast following is to play the westcoast. I don't think it is any mystery why they don't have the same size following out here that they do in the East. That is like looking for Anaheim Angel fans in Detroit. There ain't a lot of 'em cause they don't play there much.
What I would like to see is a Leftcoast run similar to B2P where you let us westerners return the hospitality. We'll call it Starbucks to Salsa (Seattle to San Diego). We'll hit Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, San Fran, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, Vegas and San Diego. Having Phil on the bill would bolster the take as well.
Let us show you guys some real summer weather!
Hey Scotty, you got a winner there! She's a peach!
π helloooooooo and good afternoooon
Jeanne,Nic & Kraig your cd's went out in this mornings mail:cool:
First a big huge kiss to my girl for knowing where to reach me for a little valentines..... Sheβs the goods & it was a very pleasant surprise.
Second a Big huge thank you for Big Dave for one of the coolest gov't mule's I have ever seen. Too cool Dave.
Third, I need to second Woody's sentiments on a left coast tour. We buy the music too... I've been to some rockin shows out here. For example there was San Diego around 93' or so when they did the show with Blues Traveler opening. Man it was in the open-air section of the convention center & all you felt was the floor shaking.... It was kind of like a being on a ship... everyone was dancing & it was truly a group thing.
Left COAST West COAST PLEASE
Stormy,
You are right, there will always be some bad people mixed in with the good. For some people, too much is not enough when it comes to money, just look ar Enron. Cancer care is my field, and it was embarassing to have to try to calm patient's fears about their own treatment when they hear about this kind of thing. I sleep okay at night (aside from my thunderous snoring), but I wonder how that guy slept at all, knowing what he did.
Mitch
The powers to be are stronger than one knows. They can stop things as fast as you can say Dog. Back when the ABB. got inducted into the hall of fame. One band person said a cut to the president of Atlantic records. I have always said I think that hurt the band. The band did not get the coverage like other people did when they went into the hall of fame. You can add a few other reason but that hurt the band. The ABB. is not that strong on the W C.. That is the reason the band does not tour out that way very much. Bummer. I say they should play out there no matter what. The more you play in a area the more people get the word. Might not get the big bucks and it just might cost the band some money to go but in the end it is worth it. The old money thing get in the way. We went out there in the old days for hardly nothing. Look what that did. Good music will win in the end. You have to get to the people to over ride the powers to be. You can't do that staying on the E C. You can make a living but at some point you have to give back to the people.
Right on Woody my west coast brother. I couldn't agree more. One of the cool things about the GB is finding out how much some of us have in common besides our love of the brothers and related. It is actually scary but I think I have twin. Please don't let my parents, wife or friends know because they'll freak.
Again thanks Rowland for all your tips and help. I've finally replied to a reply. I feel like such a good boy. Thanks for keeping the site up. And thanks to everybody for making this such a great place. It is such a
great escape from my crazy life. And I'm not hung over afterwards.
P.S. Thanks to my buddy Goliath for the Jack P. Man Jack is so good. I wish he'd play out some more. Maybe a small southern tour. I'm just about ready to road trip. Peace y'all
Mitch:
there's a prominent pharmacist here in KC that got nailed by the Feds cause he was
"watering" down cancer medicine for cancer patients so he could pocket more bread...
This guy has provided medicine for hundreds of cancer patients for years and now the families of loved ones who died from cancer are coming out of the woodwork wonderin whether he actually caused some of the deaths.
he owned 3 pharmacies here in KC..
lowlife is too nice a word...
but it has also caused all the other pharmacies to double check what they're doing...
and the Feds are checkin them too..
Howdy all, just stopped by briefly to say West CoastWest CoastWest CoastAbout every 20 or 30 "I'm so jazzed about the Beacon, Yada Yada" posts I just get the urge to remind everybody that there is a left coast just dying to be acknowledged. One gent mentioned that ther is too much non ABB related stuff on this site. I dissagree. Most of us have lots of other interests. Although it has been said on numerous occasions that "It's all about the music", that just isn't true. This site is also about the people that have used this music to enrich their lives and have become friends in the process. If all I talked about with my friends was the Allman Brothers I'd be one boring SOB. Bring on sports, cars ex-wives, pets, other music (Thanks Eric C for the live Little Feat, the 75 disc is killer!), politics, whatever. I think its fun and there is no doubt that there is no shortage of opinions with this crowd.
Ditto, Ditto, I agree, uh huh, uh huh.
Check your PMs folks or you won't know ya got any!
Peace,
Sis
Good Afternoon Fellow PeachHeads,
Hope everyone is having a great Friday.
I haven't been able to get through to this site all day. I was starting to jones. Anyway, I received a cd in the mail with my current issue of Hittin' The Note. The Code Talkers, with Col. Bruce Hamton. I've heard of him through Hittin' The Note, but never heard his music, and wow, It's some good stuff. I was very impressed. A real cool version of Love Light on it. At first listen, I liked the whole CD. It's great when you get a cd, and like it alot the first time you hear it. There's a few cool funky songs and a couple songs that kinda remind me of the Radiators. Anyway, deffinately worth checking out. Tattoo Neil, At The Wheel, Turning Visions Into Real. Peace...
Hey Red Dog,
Every year, in a national poll, when people are asked who they trust the most, Pharmacists come out number one, and priests are second or third. I guess there are very few child molesting pharmacists these days! At least I don't know any.
Mitch (the trusted).
He folks I could use your help. KFOG a radio station in San Francisco never seems to play the ABB. They have a contest for the top 10 albums and will play them back over the airwaves. I would love to get Eat a Peach & Live at The Fillmore on the air in their entirety. As an incentive, KFOG broadcasts over the internet, so you can listen with me
Here's the link

Oh yeah, we're a REAL normal bunch...
Sure am glad the ABB GB is back on topic with stuff about baseball, child molesting priests, Waylon Jennings (RIP), DTB, GA&F, and social engagements. :p
All that guitar player talk was such a bore! π
Way to go, Atisa!!....*bright smile*And what a sweet treat for our cool dude, Scotty. It's a pleasure to have you drop in on us. We're really not as weird as Scotty may make us out to be. Okay, maybe Bird and Johnny are borderline but the rest of us are as ordinary as plain vanilla. Honest. *wink* Come back soon!

hey cowboy neil, looks like your gonna have to stay this way for a bit, and then the summer tour..... you might just wanna pack now:-p
Wow, I heard on the news that over 80 priest have been moved around in the church so that the nasty things they have been doing to children would not get out. They should have been sent to jail. We wonder why the kids of today have no respect for things and other people. If you can't trust the priest with your child. Then who can you trust period. The Olympics and Enron are in the same bag with the priest. Life is a box of candy.
I just read the Daily Racing Form for Saturday, Feb. 16. The Form says Greg Allman is playing a concert beginning at 2:30 PM at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, FL. Sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon, bet some Ponies, quaff a few cold ones & listen to Gregg tickle the ivories.
Hey late nighters/early risers ... just posted a multi-show b&p offer over on the forum under "trades" (as requested by Mr. AIQ, great idea by the way.) Open until I wake up, since I'm leading the life of a vampire these days that'll probably be sometime Friday afternoon ... Jim
Mr.S Gibbs email I lost your addy.
