I love labs and retrievers. I've had a few golden retrievers. They are the best, most loyal pets, IMO. I miss my buddy, Henry. Broke my heart when I had to put him down. I didn't want another dog, but inhereted one when the mother in law passed...Buster. He's a mutt, and must be deaf as a door nail since you have to loudly clap your hands to get his attention. As for cats, I have four, and that is two too many. I'll be glad when we are finally a cat free household. I am burned slap out on cats.

Its painful for me to go to Dickey shows in NYC where there are maybe 200-300 poeple in attendance. I can't believe this is how Dickey wanted it to end. How cool would it have been at Crossroads to see Dickey guest with Derek and Susan for a few tunes.

Jack, I have not checked out the web site yet. I will soon. I am still being tested. When test are over I will then know what kind of action to take. I have one dog, a golden Lab named Godlie, and one cat, Me Shell, or Me me for short. she is a tabby. My baby as I found her in the woods when she was a bout 3 months old. She runs the house and get her way. Goldie just bogarts her way around. She stays close to me when I am outside working. Makes me feel good that she watches over me.

Revonah, I do believe that Rayg's commrents were in a question form and not a point blank statement. It sounds like you might have took offense to his question. If you can show me a more creative guitar player than Dickey, I will eat my hat. Not even the great Clapton is as creative on the spot as Dickey Betts. That is not just an opinion, it is a fact, and that is a point blank statement. I think there is something between Clapton and Betts, nothing heavy but something is there. There was something between Clapton and Duane. That is why Duane did only two dates with Clapton and came home. They still remained friends and had respect for each other but there was something in the air.

Red Dog, did you check out my nephew's blog about his cancer fight? I think it is inspirational and shows that having a good attitude in a cancer fight is important. Do you have spots /growths they will operate on or will you be doing chemo all the way? The Denver Nuggets coach, George Karl, is finishing up a bout with cancer in his mouth and throat and he is planning to be back on the Nuggets bench next year, so his story might be worth looking up also. Back to your dogs-what kind are they? I had mutts much of my early life but the last 20 years we have had terriers. Mainly big male airedales, but I also have a little westie now. My current airedale has very bad hips and is on supplements, but he probably needs to get on steroids which will wind up ruining his organs, but he already spends most of the day laying around and has very weak hips. My son is 36 and lives with us, but the dogs are the kids now.

That is good news. One of the silver linings of this whole ordeal for Gregg may be the time spent with his son. Good for Devon to be there. I bet Gregg is doing some serious pondering about his world, his life these days. Wishing him the very best in his recovery.

rayg, Granted, Dickey is a great guitar player. However, I have heard, and scene, a lot of guitar players at the various Crossroads that are as good as, at the very least, Dickey. But to assume it is a deliberate snub from Clapton, or that the ABB vs Dickey fued is an issue in conjecture. It's E.C. for christsakes, he invites who he wants to invite, period. He has lots of friends who are great guitar players, he likes being around and he invites some of them. To compare players for the sake of ..."this guys better than that guy, etc..." is futile. It's subjective. I'd love to see Dickey and Eric jam. Maybe someday.

There have been 3 Crossroads festivals over the last 6 years and Dickey Betts hasn't played at any of them. What is with that? I heard some great guitar playing on Saturday but I didn't hear anybody who can compete with Dickey. Is there a rift between Clapton and Dickey or is it just plain negligence. I don't think a rift between Butch and Gregg with Dickey should come in the way of an invitation to Dickey from Clapton to play at the Crossroads Festival.

Red Dog's medical tip for the day. Cold remedy to stop from getting colds, When you are finished with youur shower, the last thing to do is run cold water on your head and feet. I very seldom get colds. I do this all year long. My understanding is the feet and top of the head are where we pick up germs. I close the pores in both places with the cold water. This is really good to do in the winter. Hey, it works for me. The brain is working overtime. To much time on my hands.
