Just wanted to tell everyone a big thank you for the posts. It has kept us stoked. Being a voyeur is not as fun as experiencing the brothers first hand but at least I get to live and dream a little through your experiences. As for the prequil Marley-- how about a little left coast news (HINT!!!). Peace--Scotty

I reached a small milestone today. I received my 98th, 99th, and 100th shows. I want to thank some people who have enriched my life by sharing the music we all love so much. My Va Beach neighbor John Anderson--Tom Seeks--GPM (by the way Gerald--Thanks for the Van and the ABB 9/3/00)--Mike Morgan sent me my 1st show--David Wyatt--I thought at times that I was the only person who knew Sea Level existed. Debbi sent me a show for my birthday which I thought was a pretty cool thing to do. Jake Ellis has sent me shows--Ron Bruder--Jim Carroll has been very generous. I also want to thank Bob Mehlbaum for his patience and his generosity. Wayne --Thank you for the 5/9/70! There are other people who have contributed and I deeply appreciate all of you. Together you folks have added a wonderful new dimension to my life and more importantly, you've made me a better guitarist! I also want to extend a big Thanks to Lana and Rowland for allowing us to have a place to go where we can do things like collecting and trading old and new shows--where we can make new friends and share the wonderful experience that is the ABB. Most of all, I want to thank Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jaimoe because without them--all of this would not exist.

What a terrific Beacon run. Was blessed to see 3 shows in 8 nights. Saw the two Saturday shows and last Friday as well. This version of the ABB is among the top bands I have heard in many decades of listening hard. There has so much been written in the GB already, this GB has added to the electricity and fun a lot of Peachheads felt during the run and the anticipation of it. Though I am on the outer fringe looking in -this is a really nice group. It was fun to see / hear Derek more out in front. See him interacting with Marc, Gregg and Warren and everyone. He is so gifted and seems very giving on stage. I haven't heard a better slide player live since 1971. Gregg's voice continues to sound better and stronger. He had the organ going in the mix a bit stronger at times as well. Was it my imagination or did Gregg applaud Derek a bit after Saturday's "Trouble No More" ? Lots of passion in Warren's playing and singing. While he is always terrific, I thought this past Saturday, he was at the very top of his game. I hope he and DT stay with the band a very long time. I read a post about a week ago from someone who went to a show and studied Butch. I watched Butch play hard, lots of motion and passion there too. Jaimoe looked to be smiling more than I have seen him in a while. Please keep poundin em Jai. We love the Band - what can I say. See you at the DB&GS show at BBKing's.

This is a Saturday nite show, and it should be a blast. I know there a lot of local Philly GBers. Anyone interested can private message me or send me e-mail. I am so HAPPY about what happened at the Beacon, that I just can't stand it! John

Not much I can add that hasn't already been said. As for me - I think this Beacon Run finally exorcised the demon from within. I guess (I hate to restate what has already been posted but it's so true) the bottom line is Duane's Band is alive and well. It was great to see all the fans this weekend. Cam, Max, Nathan and Jake - I had the best time. It was nice to meet you Lana at the Gin Mill. Your friend was very nice. Just a couple of thoughts on the shows Friday and Saturday nite: I was VERY impressed with the development I have seen in Derek especially. I really think he dominated much of the show Friday nite. I think Friday nites show was extremely well played, and going into Saturday, I just (as usual) wasn't sure it could be topped. But, Saturday nite was the best ABB show I have ever seen. Whippin Post > Mountain Jam was as close to perfect as it gets! The playing was so uplifting, completely unrushed or forced. It felt like Duane was with us. Anyway, I can't wait for the next time. Peace everybody. John

Just wanted to say another thank you to the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND. 😀 Musically, the run was almost too outrageous to speak. I caught 5 shows and loved every one of them. Personally, think the last 2 shows were the best but I have no complaints anywhere in the run. Sound sytem again gets a major Grade A Kudo, as does the the new writing, the expanded set lists and the fun with guests. Warren is so on top of his game that it's downright scary. I love the big Gibson ES350-that is a sweet tone axe in his hands. The guitar tones were so beautiful this run. Derek broke in the Washburn, still used the SG(love that SG!!) The rhythm section shook the earth and swung so well. I loved it.loved it loved it some more... especially the swing section in Desdemona. Good Lord! 😀 I just could not stop dancing this entire week.:) I'm still dancing to the sounds in my head. Had Row AA for the 1st time in my life and just couldn't stop dancing. Up close & personal. I watched Oteil up close-man he burned that bass. It just flows right out-awesome. Just loved it. Gregg was in excellent voice & spirits-talking to the crowd a bit, we could almost sense a reluctance to leave the stage. Keyboards solos were fun,had some bop to them too. He was swingin! Butch, thanks for taking a picture with Marley & I. To be able to share this experince with my son is enough to bring to me to tears(of joy). 🙂 We had such a great time with everyone. Can't wait to do it again:D 😀 Thanks so much to all. Lana* what can I say....Love you so much for sharing so effortlessly. You are the QUEEN!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 😀 🙂 So many great people. JoeB,Kirk,John L., thanks for your time,we enjoyed speaking with all of you so much. Thanks for your great work. Rowland,Lana- Hugs & Love to both of you. What a week it was!!! 😎 PeachNutt 😎

Hey Sister Jo3, nice to hear from you. If I understand your dilema correctly, it will be a breeze to fix your pics. They are already on disc, only negative, is that right? If that's the case, just send 'em to me at the email address listed on this post and it'll take about 2 seconds for each pic. Glad to help if I can. Take care. Tom S.

Greetings...*smile*I'm still trying to get the sand out of my eyes but wanted to poke my head in to say hey! Again, this weekend, Saturday kicked butt. Friday's show was solid but I found it to be flat in spots early on though I found that when a smile curled my lips, Derek was in the drivers seat. He owned the first set Friday. Maybe it was me...I never claim to "know anything" about what I hear, I just know what I like. It felt like I was being pulled up the mountain Friday where Saturday I was floating up with the energy of the whole band pushing behind me. Ah, such a beautiful thing. Little did I know I'd be training for my next walk Saturday afternoon! Went back downtown and a nice leisurely stroll through the outskirts of the Village, Chinatown and a lunch break in Little Italy. Boy, I needed a nap after that lunch. Belly full of pasta and a brain full of red wine! Yowza. No nap to be had as Melissa and Lammie had arrived and there was a stop in Lana's room before heading over to the Gin Mill. So happy to have met some of the List Serv folks. *smile* (hey, they're a pretty neat neighborhood, too!) I'll always feel comfortable in a crowd if I can scan the room and see GlennB in the middle of it! Thanks, Waldo.Karen!! What wonderful surprises you had for everyone. Spirit Wear..yes...your spirit is worn on your face with that beautiful smile of yours. Thank you for the gifts. It was a pleasure to meet you. Gailagain...I expected to bump into you this morning during my commute. Didn't seem right to turn a crowded corner and not see you!! Glad we met...hope I didn't say anything silly on the recordings..*grin*Horace, sorry to hear about the flight mix up. Admit it, you knew but just couldn't pull yourself away from the Big Apple. It happens. *smile* Looking forward to our next meeting.Peachnutt & Marley...always, always a pleasure to spend time with you two. Mitch...you're a star for having those pictures all ready to hand out. Thank you! A pleasure meeting Marie, too!Got a private performance from Lamdog & Goliath Saturday night. Hmmmm...even after the lesson I still can't tell you what an open G is but hey...I liked what I heard from these two! What a nice little pajammy party.Melissa..check in! Hope the back is feeling better. Jody..sorry we couldn't spend more time. Next time!Lana...good to see your smiling face, as always. Check your Private Messages for a..well..private message from me.Final thought (until the next one!) Whippin' Post into Mountain Jam...Yeah baby, now that's what I'm talkin' about!!!

Thanks to you all for the posts. It was a very different ending last night. In the past we have been very glad to reach the end of the run and have usually just gone home. Last night everyone was visiting each other, talking about what a fantastic run we had just had and feeling very sad that it was over. I think Tommy Booth hit it on the head "Duane's Band" is back. I won't get into any other issues raised here except to say; It's about the music not the PR. Personal issues are just that. Duane set that standard.

Glad the pictures are a hit. TattooNeil, since I am a "follower of rules" (a good thing and a bad thing), I shot with no flash. The camera was on automatic exposure, and I just took the pics, hoping for the best. I tweaked them a bit with the computer software before I uploaded them. Of course, it helped to have a good seat. Lana, get me good seats at BB King's and there will be plenty of great pictures in May!! Take care all. Mitch
