On a lighter note (not to belittle the explosion at all), does anyone get de ja vu of the "Cannonball Run" when they see Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at Pres. Bush's ranch? Remember the sheik who ripped up the ticket and threw it out the window of the Rolls? What a great flick!!

Patty & Lana, just caught that story on the news. The explosion occurred at a Technical School that had tanks of gases. They were not confirming that this is what caused the explosion, just implying. They reported atleast 20 injuries, but so far I did not hear of fatalities. Hope it stays that way. At this point it doesn't sound like what we are probably all fearing. Doesn't sound like a terrorist, just a bad accident.

Not too much available yet. I've been listening to the Police and Fire radios but not as much is said on them as you would think sometimes. A lot of different frequencies. That said at least 2 dozen hurt some may still be in debris, not a full collapse of the building, explosion sounds posiible. EMS removing victims to hospitals FD conducting SAR of interior of building and PD controlling traffic and assisting in rescue effort. More later.

Jody D.,... I received an e-mail supposedly from you saying I have a game for you. I'm assuming now that you didn't send it. Fortunately, I wasn't able to open it. Guess i'll have to be careful. Paris,...I highly recommend Col. Bruce Hampton as well. I never heard his music either, until recently when I received a sampler cd in the mail with an issue of Hittin The Note . It's awesome. You should definately try to catch him. Have a great day folks...Peace,..Neil

This past week-end my bestfriend, Lin, came to visit, she now lives in Columbia, SC; I now live in Atlanta, GA. It's the closest the two of us have geographically lived in proximity to one another in 39 years. Lin and I met the Allman Joys in Gaslight Square back in 1967 at the Inn Crowd, it was my birthday. We all became great friends, and spent the next 2 years enjoying the best times with Duane, Gregg, Paul, Johnny, Wolf, and then, Pete. I told Lin that I had been reunited with Gregg, and Stacy at The Roxy in December '98 after his show (many thanks to Lana, and Kirk) but he didn't seem to remember me. Lin said, Did you say your name was, Karen? I said, "Yes!" She said, "Gregg didn't know you as Karen!" Remember, we were Rocki and Lin! You weren't Karen." "You should've said, Rocki and Lin!" "I still have the necklace he gave me!!" I am sure he would remember Rocki and Lin! Lin wanted to go "antiquing;"so we drove up to Alpharetta, while in this shop, Gregg's Midnight Rider came on the music system; then, while paying for purchases, we spoke about how we had been friends since we were 18, and this young woman, says, "You should head on down the road to, "Queen of Hearts." "It's a great flea market!" We did, and Lin spent about 3 hours walking the aisles; during that time many ABB tunes were played. What a great day of remembering the best times. Synchronicity................;)

Great Scott...I finally got my 2000 shows and have listened to them about six times each. Jimmy and Derek are amazing together. Talk about some modern form of psycadelic.

Hey JoJoDancer, here is a little bit of trivia for you. You got married on my 30th birthday. What are the odds? 🙂 Listening to 9/24/00 (Big Spring Jam, Huntsville, Alabama), and wishing that The Allmans would bring back "Loan Me A Dime." Happy Thursday, y'all.

Hey Paris, I would highly recommend Col. Bruce Hampton and the Code Talkers. Oteil and Derek of the ABB are just two of the many people that the Colonel has ruined for life with his zany musical hijinks. Bruce has a very spontaneous vibe and never sings a tune the same way twice. His gruff voice is full of character and sounds right at home singing blues, acid jazz, bluegrass, and anything else you can think of. His right-hand man in the Code Talkers is Bobby Lee Rogers, as good a guitar and banjo player as you'll see. I'm not sure if you are familiar with Bruce's other bands or not, but if you haven't heard the Aquarium Rescue Unit's first album yet, you ain't been living right! 🙂 The Code Talkers are more bluegrass-oriented than ARU, and more structured to some extent, but they can still take a jam way out there. Bruce Hampton is an institution in the Southern musical scene, like the weird old uncle that everyone looks forward to getting drunk with at the family reunion, and you owe it to yourself to check him out.

Thanks for the info. Jody. I received a suspicious email yesterday and it had two file attachments and at least one that I know of had a virus in it. I deleted it and haven't had any problems yet. I don't recall the name of the sender, but it was from a married couple. i.e. Bob & Mary Smith or something like that. And I think the title mentions something about a check not clearing a bank account. I know, it does sound strange...

Lee, it appeared that the sender of the email was a person I knew so I did not suspect there would be a problem. This was not the case. Someone is using our identities! When I asked the person if they sent me an email they said NO. I am 100% sure that it did not come from the person it says it came from---100% SURE! When I opened the email there were 2 attachments. I opened it and walked away from the computer. I don't remember exactly what it said. I wasn't paying much attention to it because it looked to be coming from someone I knew and trusted. BUT, it definately was not from that person. Same day I received another email which I did not get around to opening yet. This one had the subject saying something about a warning about a virus. I am pretty sure this didn't come from the person it says it came from. I have a private message sent to this person and I am waiting for a response. I think it only hits PCs and not MACs. Goliath, thanks for your help. My husband unplugged everything at home. I hope I didn't infect anyone after I was hit.Have a peachy day all 😀

This is a persistent virus. The subject of the email is usually " I have a new game for you" but if you continually delete the message, it changes subjects. It even changes the sender info if it doesn't get thru to you. Just delete anything that you think is suspicious. It sent itself to me 7 times in one day & changed the subject line 2-3 times.

I'm not a computer expert (somebody who is please correct me if I'm wrong), but I'd bet that this is a virus going around, not a hacker. I think that makes more sense.
