lame. anybody got a good one?
From reports from last week's Derek Trucks Band shows, Mike Mattison fit in quite well as guest vocalist. You can hear some of his vocals at his website performing in a duet called Scrapomatic. He has quite the range and would be a nice replacement for Javier IMO if it works out.

Meanwhile, the DTB Columbia Records debut is now targetted for Aug 23. Should be a fun music summer....
Wow. coolest thing..... I haven't been to the GB in a while so... Whats UP EVERYONE!!! Anyway, There's this music room right next to my office and I listen to them bang away all day and try to convince people to sign their kids up for my camp and the lead singer peps the band and says, " One -two- F*** You!!!"
-Intersting huh?
Oh yea, so this kid is learning to play Jessica and it prompted me to check out any new news on the tour dates! The ABB is playing in my BACKYARD. Gilford NH. AND, GALACTIC IS OPENING. GALACTIC is Fresh! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Can't wait to hear the new stuff too!
PEACE & PEACHES and see ya on the Gilford Bleaches!!
Last year at camden the seats were all full and there were several thousand in the yard although I cant say what the official attendance is or was.
That is my email address. It is a Yahoo address, obviously, and is not monitored by Yahoo for viruses. I have no control over what Yahoo does or does not monitor. I have no idea how that got to you, or anyone else, since that email account does not have any address book whatsoever. I did receive the same email virus, the Klez, from Lana a few days ago, at that address. There is no need to panic and post "Do Not Open" responses on the guestbook. Besides, had you kept your virus definitions up to date, this would be a non issue. As a wise man once said to me, "Poor planning on your part does not constitute a crisis for me." Have a good day.
Happy Tuesday All:
Kahuna looks like a cool place 😎
Detroit, June 30 can't get here soon enough. Anyone out there making the plans for pre-party locations.
It's never too early...I keep remembering how quick March - Beacon run arrived.....and went...:(
Have a great day folks.
Later, Karen.
Sweet 16 Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give us that mountain jam please.......
Peace Love and wishful thinking---Scotty
Montage Mnt. is pretty much an every other year venue, if I am not mistaken. Plus that place doesn't work on a weeknight. I also agree about Camden being to big, the last couple of years the place has only been half full in the seats and only a thousand or two on the lawn. Looks bad !
I think the place in Delaware sounds sweet and if WSP and MOE are playing there, it is far from a place that bands on their way out perform.
WARNING
i just got an email from "leavemyblues@yahoo.com"....i wasn't sure who it was, but i assumed it was ok to open hence the name of the address..
IT WAS A FRIGGIN VIRUS.
DONT OPEN IF THIS ADDRESS COMES TO YOU.
phillybob,
isnt a smaller venue what we want??
in camden, its a little to big for the boys..
looks sad when only half the venue is filled....and i disagree with the downside thing....every type of band plays there..
im happy even though ive never been there.
I'm with ya Scott...venue schmenu...just go see the band if you want...if not, stay home! 🙂
Hey, we have another canidate for remedial spelling that's Middlefield, NE ohio, not middleton of Cinci.
Will I buy the new ABB cd when it comes out ? Of course. Will I support the guys ? Of course. That's just me after a good weekend and starting my week off grumblin' on Monday morning.
Dickey does have another cd out.
Middlefield has been known to be called Middlefinger by locals and others.
ABB is still the best damn band to be found.
I've heard some good things about that place in Wilmington, DE. Sounds like a good alternative to the usual summer sheds.
Glad to see the case of the missing L has been solved.
I'll be there at Kahunaville. Although I gotta agree with Phillybob, usually bands on the downside play venues like this. Anyway, I would rather be going to Camden.
Phillybob, we'll meet you at Merriweather again, bro. I'm making plans already. When do those tix go on sale?
Bummer, just read that the 8/21 show will not be Camden or Philly after all. 🙁
But Kahuna is not that far and not that bad. We saw Widespread Panic there last year and it was a very enjoyable show. They have a huge outdoor deck and large raised stage along the riverwalk in Wilmington - very nice compared to a cramped club.
Hope to talk the rest of the Philly Fillies into a small road trip - hint! 😀
Yeah Scott,
I guess. I wish someone would explain how they go thru the process of selecting venues I guess they make more money playing in a small4500 venue then they would playing in a 20,000 venue with 10,000 folks and to skip philly after all these years there must be a new promoter running montage in scranton and tweeter in camden. I dont like fighting large bar crowds would rather A get front row seats or B sit in the lawn he he. Ill go back in my hole atleast I can truck a few hours down to merriweather.
Wow!! Great news about the Nashville pre-sale, and those prices are out of sight. Show me another major concert act that offers up a spot in the chigger seats for $13. Good luck.
Hey Philly Boooobbbb, quit your whinin', Bro. I saw the Brothers last June here in Louisville in the middle of a bush league racetrack with about 3,000 other folks, and the show absolutely rocked. It ain't the venue, my man, it's the music that counts.
Dan, does this mean we won't be hangin' on the lawn at the Riverbend show in July? 🙂 Come on, dude. If Charlesinator can give the Brothers the benefit of the doubt, I'll just bet that you can, too.
EAPFP.
Hey, I didn't take it!
