Don't I know it, Nic!! I've got the pics to prove it, too! *grin*
Amen BW...gettin on.
Hey Bum...stop spilling secrets or I'll muss ya up at Waterloo. *smile*
Hey Jeanne. I like beer at Berghoff's!!!!!!!! haha. Peach.
Lee is right Josh, best pack your bags cause what Jeanne says goes! She's a kind person now for sure but I heard she used to beat up boys who crossed her in grammar school! 😮
I agree, 9-7-92 just smokes.....I love the GOWYL......wish the ABB would bring that tune back.......EAPFP
Josh - Ms. Jeanne has spoken. Accept it and move on.
SATURDAY COMING UP IS ALPINE VALLEY. DEAD REUNION. WAITED A WHILE FOR THIS ONE.
I RECEIVED THE 3RD GRATEFUL DEAD DVD IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY. JUNE16,1990 SHORELINE. jERRY JUST CRACKS ME UP. SURE MISS HIM. SEE YOU AT ALPINE.
Hey, thanks Jeanne. Maybe that's my calling: ABB Fan Recruiter. Although trying to get Josh to go on an ABB road trip is sort of like preaching to the choir, isn't it?
Just went out at lunch and picked up Mr. Springsteen's latest CD (It's out today). He didn't disappoint. I'm really impressed with this. Interestingly, although this is his first studio CD with the E Street band since Born In The USA, the disc is by "Bruce Springsteen". No mention of the band. Nice to hear Clarence's sax again. Sorry to ramble on about non-ABB material, but I do strongly recommend this disc if you're into Bruce at all.
Back to the ABB. I also agree with Jeanne's comments on that 9/7/92 show. That's a keeper. If you don't have it, get it.
Whew! Stumbled in last night after the trip to sunny (and friggin' hot) West Palm for the DB&GS/Phil show.
Im sure most of you have heard reviews already, even though I havent seen a Marley post in a while.
What a great bill. I wouldve had a better time, but my cheap ass sat on the lawn and cooked all day - made the day a bit uncomfortable. Dickey started things off at 4:30, and the place jumped till the wee hours.
My highlight: Dickey comes out to do Goin Down the Road Feelin Bad with P&F, and the place just erupted for Mr. Betts. Amazing that among all the tye-dyes and VW buses, all I could hear were cries of "Dick-ey!"
Jim...sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It sounds like he knew what was important. Live while you're living and find happiness in each day. Hope the memories ease the pain some.
Josh...you're in. Accept it and move on with making travel plans! *grin* Good recruiting work, Lee.
Lee, received a lovely little show yesterday just as I was walking out the door. *smile* Made me want to grab a beer at Berghoffs! Many thanks, my friend.
Hello Good People,
Just had to second that emotion on the 9/7/92 Lakewood show! That was probably the best Warren/Dickey show I saw, and it really made me that much more of a fan. The Brothers were on fire that night, and then some. Really, really good versions of Nobody Knows and Jessica>Revival.
In fact, if you don't mind analog, I would be happy to make copies of this show. I have a good stereo that makes fairly good tapes, but those of you who only like digital would probably be disappointed. Anyway, email me if you want a copy, it would be my pleasure to share this great show.
Jim, sorry about your friend. What a wonderful outlook he had though! Reminds me of my final days w/ my sister. Said it before, but I think maybe it bears repeating.
You can learn so much about living from the dying.
Life's so fragile, may we all learn and live life like the gift it is to each of us.
God Bless y'all.
Peace N Love,
Carole
Hey Folks,
Hope all are doing well. Haven't been here in a couple days, so just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Jim,...So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and his family. Hang in there brother. Peace everyone,...Neil
I have 3 for the KC show that's all for now. More Later. Don't want to over extend myself. I can't be the only GBr that tends to procrastonate.

Bejamin (Jim) I am so very sorry to hear about your Friend. While in High School many years ago I lost 3 close friends at different times. One to a car accident, One was shot, and one had a rare disease that ate him alive over about a year and a half. Sad enough, no, the last 2 were brothers and the only children of a wonderful couple that out lived both of their sons. I still have a very hard time dealing with the loss of loved ones and I hope I never get used to it even though I know it will happen more and more as I get older. Our prayers are with you and your friend's family. We know he is in good company up there. I'd like to send you the 6-25-02 KC show if you will send an address to me. I was there and it was excellent. People who were at multiple shows are saying it is one of, if not the best of the tour so far.
I will also sned the show to the first 2 private mails I receive no B&P necessarry. A lot of wonderful people out there have helped me get a nice collection started and I want to do the same. And everyone needs this show!

Welcome to the show, CeeCee!
😉
Jeanne...You mention the 1992 Atlanta show where Derek performed with the ABB. I was at that one and it is probably top 5 ABB show of mine. Derek came out in his Braves hat, and his SG seemed bigger than he was (Derek seemed small for his age which added to the spectical of what you saw & heard out of this little guy).
Anyway, 1992 is one of my all-time favorite periods for the ABB because they had great new music to play, killer acoustic sets, the sound had really turned even more roots based compared to just 3 years prior, and they had a great live album out that re-worked some of the classics (not to mention that Woody & Warren seemed like they had been in the band for DECADES...).
Thanks for the memory.

Happy Birthday to Buddy Guy!!! EAPFP

Jim, my thoughts are w/you. Enjoy those shows w/your daughter. My wife put the hammer down this year and wouldn'y let my 2 yr old go to 'WarrenFest' in Indy (Mule isn't THAT loud?!). Maybe next year.
And, Sang, I must send a big THANKS! to you for the gift I rec'd in the mail a while back. That was just awesome - not sure what the highlight is but the 'I've Been Loving You Too Long' w/the horns is just magical! Thanks again.
