Given how fantastic the band was at Great Woods last year (Whipping Post opener!) and how much the crowd was into it, I think Mansfield is in for another :flame::flame::flame::flame::flame::flame::flame: show tonight- don't forget to give us reviews and set lists, guys! :hippie: Meanwhile, I think I'll go bowling. :twirl: Kidding! :megacool:

Yes it is, Neil, and thank you very much. GPM- it's a lot easier to play a song than mend personal differences. If it's back in the rotation, I'm glad- it's a great song and I enjoy hearing it, especially if it's had a bit of a rest.

Marley,...Congratulations on your article being published in the Merrick Herald. I'm assuming that's a Merrick Long Island newspaper? You have a bright future ahead of you my man. Good for you. Peace,...Neil

Hey everybody - what a great looking Saturday! I'll be on vacation this week, so won't be able to check in much. Listened to Desdemona from 8-5-01 with Chuck Leavell and to a more recent Worried Down With the Blues on my way to work this week - both of those songs take me to a different place - just watch your driving when you're in that different place! :freaked: Now listening to Steppin Out with the Grateful Dead - England '72 :rainbow:  :rainbow: Anything recommended by Brofan has to be good! 😎 Hey Lee, I'll be up in Meeechigan the next few days - don't tell the authorities! 😀

Hi Everyone ~! I might be bored and starved for entertainment up in these hills but I must say (Attn: Rowland) that the new Smileys gave me a real kick just a minute ago ! And Marley, great use of the new technology  Not sure if I can figure it out myself though, haha EVERYONE on the GB -- THANKS! For making it a pleasure every day to check in with y'all for the reports, emotions, tales, personal situations, etc. of Best Damn Band and Fans in the Land !! Peace and Peaches, and Much Love, Rob in NC (yes I'm embarrassed by my username -- trying to change it)

Thanks for the kind words about my review of the Yonrico Scott Band a couple of pages back -- it was truly an awesome show. I got home at 2:00 AM and was so inspired I stayed up two more hours writing! I urge everyone within driving distance of Atlanta to come by Cafe 290 tonight or Jake's on the 15th to see this incredible jazz trio! CeeCee, if you make it to Jake's this Thursday be sure to look me up -- I'll be the big guy with the microphones.

Word on the Internet (via Phishhook) is that Mikey Houser of Panic has passed away. I spent some college years listening to Panic in local bars and even though I don't rank them high on my favorite list, they hold a place in my past. Rest in Peace.

The Brothers brought Liz Reed back! Cool! 😎 The show was great and I wasn't there! D'oh! :homer: Nice review of Yonrico's band, Ron. Kofi :afro: was there, right? Glad to hear that Derek :egypt: and Warren  are burning it up :flame: -- Oteil :rainbow: too. I bet the Brotherhood of Light :colors: :colors: was great as well. 🙂 I can't wait for the show on Tuesday (and Dickey's :cowboy: show this weekend). Gonna be some great parties! :biggrins:

I will take the Sturgis show, but wait till next year to send it. I went and looked at 1200 Sportsters already, and decided to wait till next year, it will be my 2003 reward for surviving.

I have to say that I had a good time at the Billings Bluesfest last night. Eddie Shaw opened, followed by Son Seals. Son Seals was moving pretty slow, walking with a cane and sat on a chair while he played. But what a voice and what a guitar player! How he gets those sharp, forceful notes out of the guitar by barely moving his hands I'll never know. It was like watching a Japanese movie with the English dubbed in- what the ears hear doesn't mesh with what the eyes see! John Mayall was the headliner and he has a really tight band; I was impressed. Mayall looks at least ten years younger than he is. They did smokin' versions of Hideaway, Have You Heard, and Room to Move. Ok, that's all fine and good, but what's the connection to the ABB? Well for the encore, they did Maydell! They started the song and I thought "Heyyyy, wait a minute, I know that song" I don't know if they have recorded it, because the last time that I bought a John Mayall album the vinyl was black and his goatee was brown. I guess it goes to show that you never know when you're going to have an Allman Brothers moment.

Nice Work Hophead. Atlanta sounds like the place to be tonite. ..and Derek may just change the world..if we let him. What a great world we'd be living in IF Derek could sell-out Deer Creek here in Indy tonite and tomorrow night like Dave Matthews has done. Mis-guided youth. 🙁
