Being that I grew up in Minnesota, last night was my first show at Walnut Creek and the allmans rocked! I loved the setlist. It was very bluesy. The whole band was very tight. The weather was unbeliable also. It was miserably hot when I got in the car to drive to Raliegh at about 5 o'clock. It was beautiful when I got out of that car. From seeing Warren play acoustic in the parking lot before the show to Whipping Post it was a truly great night. Can't wait till next year. The sit-ins with Audley Freed and the guys from Galactic were kick ass. Seeing the brothers is a time when you can forget about the everyday stresses of life. Later.

I'm a little slow this morning ... Let me get this straight ... Warren stood next to a van, w/ a guitar and microphone and played a mini acoustic set before the ABB show ? I just looked at the pics, and that's the conclusion I came to .... Now, where am I when this stuff happens ? Damn ..... Should I even bother checking my lottery ticket ? It was 120 million last nite, but I might have preferred hangin' out next to that van !! Good 'ol Sunday Morning to y'all ....

Audley Freed and Ben Ellman jammed with the Brothers on two songs last night, as did Galactic's drummer Stanton Moore. But what's the name of the guy - and I think he must be the band's drum tech cuz he leaned on the risers right behind Marc and Jaimoe all night - who sat in for Jaimoe on one of the cuts? Anybody know? Just curious for purposes of accuracy with the setlist - he was never introduced ... "Worried Down With the Blues" was DA BOMB of the whole set, IMHO ...

Good mornin' sweet family, Southpaw, your wish (sweeping bow) is my command. Check Aug 24 on the Calendar for pix of Warren's magnificent acoustic set yesterday. I'll join the chorus of praises for last night's show. It was incredible! Gregg, Derek, Warren, Oteil, Jaimoe, Marc and Butch roared through song after song with such energy, finesse, spark, kick-ass full-tilt in your face, heart, mind and spirit great googely moogely jaw dropping hittin' their noteness that people were crying with joy - when they weren't dancing and cheering. :clapping: We spent part of the show smack in between the lawn and reserved seats and were blown away at how completely locked into the music (and musicians) the audience was. Guitar solo! Yahh!!! Applause! Applause!! Drum solo! More cheers and applause!! Oteil!! Yessss! Applause! Organ! Whooo Yah!! *Every* moment on stage was a tour de force, greeted with blissful rapture. Uhhhh, in other words, you *might* want to get your hands on a copy of this show! Also of note, the audience for this show was largely Bonnaroomers, the youngest demographic I've ever seen at an ABB show - a good thing! 🙂 Speaking of which, "Thank You!", everyone, for such a fun pre-party at the Mellow Mushroom yesterday! It was wonderful to get to meet and spend time with you ... and your children. They're soooo terrific! It was a joy to meet them! A special shout out to Sarah Everhart. Have you been having just a *teeny* bit if fun this week, Sarah? 😉 A special thank you to the folks at Alltel Pavilion too - for the poster to share on this site, for VIP Parking and Club passes for the fam', for a great sound system, beautiful grounds, groovin' lot scene, an amazing accounting team 😉 ... this cheer's for you: :mohawk: What is it about Raleigh??? Come on over next year and find out for yourself! 🙂 Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Good morning! Just back in from Lana, Shey, and Susan's house in Raleigh. Thanks, once again, to you lovely folks for your hospitality and love! I'm sorry I missed you today; I just hatched my plan last night to get back here and get ready for work. (WORK??? :freaked: ) I was up way too late with some troublemakers at the Hilton last night/this morning, but I do like Joe's comments about the Raleigh show. It was great to see Joe again, and SO many folks at the MM. What a fun time--even though we got there late. Lana and Shey, the VIP parking and club passes were great! Did anyone else catch Warren's "It Don't Mean a Thing..." tease in Untitled last night? It was quick, but fun! I think last night was a more solid/tight show that Charlotte; let's see what's in store for tonight! Someone mentioned about Oteil "dogging it," or something like that. Well, last night's setlist had some tunes that I LOVE to see him go off on--things like Stand Back, Black Hearted Woman, and I think he has fun with Untitled every night! But, "dogging it'? Not in MY opinion. See a bunch of you at the Fish Camp in a few hours. I'm going to try and catch a few winks right now. Boy, that alarm going off at 4:30 tomorrow is going to... 😮

To all who made it to Raleigh, I hate it that I missed the party. Walnut Creek always rocks, however I will be damned if I miss Savannah. Anyone interested in a cold beer I'll be the "short, round man" with a smile for miles.
