Gee, Rick, it's easy to remember why we missed you and cried so much when you left...my eyes are starting to tear up already. 😥 Thank goodness you, among all us idiots, has the generosity and spirit of charity in your heart to tell us what morons we all are. Surely you are the greatest man who ever graced the electronic pages of this guest book- nay, surely the greatest who ever lived! Let us strew flower petals wherever you may walk! Everybody say it with me: "We cannot think for ourselves! Thank RickTLaidBirmingIdleHamBackWild for showing us the light! Praise be to him!"

Ladies and Gentlemen.....I present to you, the REAL BirminghamIdlewild... ahem.... Registering about a nothing on the Richter Scale, there appears to be a distant rumbling from the North revealing that BI is a human being. Could it be? Well, that actual poster could not figure it out on their own, and will not truly know because that UFO cannot be identified, but that is not the point for now. While we all go on this web site using our names, our wanna-be names, and our fun names, in the end we are each a person with our unique perspectives and our opinions, and if anything, what BirminghamIdlewild did was preface statements as OPINION, and respected the opinion of others. Can't hold a grudge against that, can you? As a real person, I would like to share with you all one thing. As a matter of necessity and lack of interest and simply time, prior to recent posting this webber has been completely away from the ABB web site for about a year. Not even once during that time did I venture in. And that gave this fan time to reevaluate a few things...about the past and present. So, in some respects, I came to this recent fun time with a "new" perspective. In the final analysis, it does not matter what I would write at this juncture, or my opinions for that matter. The ABB is alive and as well as it has ever dysfunctionally been. And for a few members of extended family, the same would apply. I just sincerely hope for one particular person out there they can continue to pay their internet bill every month because without that they may actually have no real life at all. This person came back to the site to see if anything has changed, and I would say that little has overall. Like the perverbial anthill, when Betts was fired the anthill was disrupted, but the little ants out there did their job, repaired it as good as new and now all march happily. And as long as everyone is happy I have concluded that the type "A"'s like myself should not lose too much sleep getting all analytical about the music and Band politics, past or present. Stupid laments from the cohorting star-struck aside, BirminghamIdlewild as a fan appreciates the web site and its goals to promote the ABB, and the ABB is fortunate to have a core group of fans like us. I know that my opinions are hated by some and appreciated by others (I have been told both), but like all of you, I am simply happy the Band continues to exist. Without inserting opinion here, Gregg was absolutely right. The Band has been saved and it's music is as good as it can be. And for a lot of core fans who over the years have had to hold their nose while they shelled out their hard earned money to buy a ticket to a half-assed performance, now we do not. Enjoyed the peek back, but real life calls me back. Now you all may return to your normally scheduled programming. Thanks for even taking the time to read what this one person had to say. Kisses, BirminghamIdlewild

gpm, aiq, you guys should know. You were there at the last dTb show I attended, and saw the effect his playing has on me. Unlike anything else I've encountered in this lifetime. I love other music too, his just moves me more than any other. Makes my soul shine and gets my feets to movin'

Mornin' peeps! Been up most of the night, listening to Joyful Noise. On second, third, fourth, etc....listen, I'm amazed at Kofi's contribution to this cd. He wrote singlehandedly three of the songs, and co-wrote most of the others except for the covers. His funky keys compliment Derek's playing so well. Bass and drums are spot on. I'm always amazed at Rico's energy. My favorite song has to be Kam-ma-lay, but they are all so good it's hard to pick a favorite. Every Good Boy is the coolest. The funk in this tune is Kofilicious! I love this band! Peace

Hi Butch, If you're reading regularly, I just wanted to say that I think the upcoming ABB album looks like it'll be the band's most lyrically and thematically complex to date. Do you think you might consider including the lyrics with the liner notes on this one? Sounds like a lot of people want to read the lyrics, and I can't recall the band doing that before. Just a thought. :fly:

Cheers, Jock! In what part of yonder side of the pond are you located? Ever heard the Brothers live? I haven't in 30 years and am getting psyched about seeing them next month in Atlanta! I think it would be great if ABB toured in the UK...What venues would you suggest they play? And how do you think they'd go over with the Glastonbury crowd? take care, Stephanie
