I'm sorry about doing this via the GB - but the trip to Alabama was thrown together pretty quickly this afternoon - so I'm asking.... Anybody going from the Pelham area to, or by, the Birmingham Airport who could provide me a ride on Sunday? If so, shoot me an e-mail or PM - THANKS! And Joeroy - don't be tempting folks like that (and no can do - really have to be back at work in DC on Monday...) BTW - I was in a super market in Manassas, VA last week - they had jars of "Virginia Chow Chow" for sale... See ya! Jim

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SMILEY 🙂 I found this on the hotmail logon page: A Microsoft researcher has apparently rediscovered the first (on Sept. 19, 1982) known computerized instance of a "smiley," the combination of characters used to signify a smile in e-mail and bulletin boards. The smiley has spawned a whole range of emoticons, as they are now known, since its appearance on a bulletin board discussion at Carnegie Mellon University in 1982. Emoticons have become an important part of the worldwide online social culture because they make it easy to communicate emotions quickly--something that many people find difficult to express using words.

Been away a while, work has become the drag I always heard it could be. I've been mostly fortunate that I liked what I do and hadn't gotten tromped by the corporate world, that's changed big time. So I've been unable to more than survive. Missed you guys a lot. Have a great time in Hot Lanta, I'm sure the home town shows were really cool eariler in the month. Hopefully after my daughter's Bat Mitzvah in Oct. I'l find a little time to indulge in the GB again. Stay safe and EAPFP

Looking forward to Appleby's tomorrow night. Looking like QUITE a crowd. Fortunately the manager, Mark, is a total Peachhead (and occasional GB lurker), 'cause we gonna' be pretty badly underfoot at his business. Don't forget the parking rules: Up to 40 people can buy parking passes at Appleby's for $10. We had a couple folks get towed last year, so be aware. Some roadside available nearby. Ask for the Peach Corps at the door. I'll be there by 5:30. Bama game starts at 6. Showtime 8:05. Midnight curfew. Don't know when we might pass this way again, but we got this weekend for sure. Let's have fun. God bless the spirit of Brother Duane Allman.EAPFP
