Happy Birthday, Miss Libby! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Birthday greetings to the Georgia Sunflower.
Welcome to a new decade, Sister. You got about ten more years ( at least) before you have to act grown around this crowd. Enjoy your day.
Libby,...Hope you have a very :birthday:...
Hey,...Didn't I just wish you a happy birthday last month? LOL. Hope you enjoyed it. Peace,...Neil
:fanfare: :birthday: to Libby!!! Have a great day, sis!!!!
I got my "The Deep End Vol.2" the other day, which I just got done listening to ... again. The enhanced version is a MUST HAVE. The Mule usually treats us to a few extra tunes on limited editions. This extra CD has the 4 bonus cuts. But, the enhanced part with pictures, movies, trailers, links, 24 hours with Warren, etc was an "heck" of a cool surprise. I'm probably two weeks behind everybody writing about this ... but, I just got mine! GET THE 2-CD version whatever it takes.

Hey Folks,....Hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to check in to say hello.

Afternoon sweet family,

Happy to have provided some entertainment for little Emily, Jim. Was Jen amused too?
Buppalo - thanks for the review, I wish I had been there (Hey! you and Brent were supposed to write up "the top 10 reasons Benjamin needs to be at the Jam for Duane" - I wasn't about to ask Jen about another spur of the moment trip to AL...)
Stephanie - thanks for the kind words - I'm simply excited about the music and want to get it around to everyone (more on that later.) No different, (in fact I do alot less) than most of the folks here.
BTW - should have seen Emily laughing about your description of me - that's it, no more shows for that one!
Gerald - thanks for the coaster-toaster e-mail - just more proof that everything said about you is very true.
Robert - the 4.13.99 Jazz is Dead came in...you know how folks are always saying "this one's staying in my player"? - I'm always thinking, "ya right, there's too much good stuff for that." Well, this one's staying in my player - Derek/Jimmy and Vassar Clements - the combo causes joy and bliss (the real stuf, not that "ecstasy" which wants to take over but can't last...)
I'll do a B&P of this one for whoever contacts me for details (via e-mail or PM.)
take care!
Jim
Well, another successful Jam for Duane is in the books.Biggest crowd yet, although not as geographically diverse as previous. States represented include GA, NC, FL, and of course AL. Not as many musicians this year, or maybe those in attendance deferred to Brent's band. These guys are scary good. Brent has a new gunslinger guitarist, Matt Harvey. This year the focus was on Brother Berry, who left this world almost 30 years ago. Brent's regular bassist, Frankie Marbut (Birmingham's finest) handled all the bass work like the master he is. Brent is also breaking in a new drummer, since his regular guy now plays in Otiel's band. Didn't get his name, but he's first-class. After the band did it's regular set, they took requests and had various guest vocalists and a few players. People insisted on Blue Sky and, although they had never played it, off they went, with Bro. Tom Seeks on vocals and rythym. When the guitar break came, Matt and Brent both dove in, looked at each other, and just locked together and did the whole thing in TWIN LEAD!! Sounded like something that came from hours of studio editing. Outrageous, and the crowd went nuts. All-in-all, another great time with great new and old friends and great music. And, as always, honoring the life and music of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. EAPFP

I have come here to the GB to testify that Jim "Holy Sliding Cow" Benjamin is one sweet, generous, and special human being. Not only has he provided me (and doubtless scores of other GBers) with hours of fabulous music, for which I have yet to reciprocate, but he also tracked down tickets for the long-sold-out Little Feat show here on Monday with Warren and Jimmy! (The man is, apparently, relentless when on a mission.)
I'm so glad to finally be meeting you in person, Jim! We'll have ourselves a good ole time for sure. Thanks for making a gloomy Saturday a whole lot brighter!
Stephanie
Hey there sweet family,
Thanks very much, Peach:looney: *k* Sometimes the magic works 🙂
Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana
Talking about teases, I heard Warren do a tease at Mud Island during All Night Train: You know that vocal part at the end of the GA solo version of Midnite Rider from Laid Back when Gregg's singing Nah Nah Nah Nah......? That's what Warren teased during All Night Train. The way he played it - down low and muddy on the slide - sounded so bada$$ I was thinking at first that it was from a Metallica song!
Hope you're all having a great weekend. Dickey next weekend on the Suwanee River woooohoooo!
