Thanks for the update on the pre-DTB festivities, Scott! Brewhouse, 7-8:30. I'll be there with my wife Tammy and our friends Bruce and Kay, two total newbies who have never seen Derek play before. I bought Bruce Joyful Noise for his birthday and he is hooked! This will be big time FUN!! 🙂

I wish I could go to PA. 530 miles driving by myself just to get there is a bit much though. You all have a wonderful time and tell Matt Merry Christmas for me! Safe traveling all.

Hi, enjoying the site, but can't get into chats, computer illiterate, I'm afraid. Just don't want anyone there to think I'm a freak or hacker. I'm having trouble with internet explorer, if anyone can help, thanks, Peace

It's been a couple of years since I've posted here. Don't get on the computer very often. I see many of you have begun Beacon plans. Enjoy! I also see many new names/faces as well. A new album for the Allman Brothers? I should check in more often. I've heard some of the new songs thanks to the generosity of the traders from the forum. The new website looks very nice, albeit new to me. Merry Christmas everyone, the best of luck to the band as they begin year #34. High Cost of Low Living seems a proper title for the new album. I do like the song.

HotLantaTim, I don't know if they will name the CD after it or not but your reference to Haynes Bridge Road brought back memories for me. I traveled it at least twice a day to and from school for years. It has changed a little since then!

Ye Olde Brewhouse, eh? I made my debut there for the big 2-1: flaming 151 that I downed, but the buyer couldn't handle his own. :haveabeer: I enjoyed Good Old Days, but the Brewhouse has those enormous beers. :beermug: Great outdoors, but not during the winter. I hope to make it there, :walk: but I may not get to the ATL until that Monday... 🙁

Oh man, I LOVE the Papaya King! You almost expect to run into the Seinfeld crowd there. Aren't we starting the Beacon tips a little early this year....the shows aren't even until next year!! Guess it's never too early to plan ahead. Sooooo.....for great Asian (Thai, Vietnamese, etc.), try River on Amsterdam, somewhere around 76th St. or so.

Jim Cramer played "Jessica" on his financial show again today - guess he plays it often, 'cause I've heard it before. For any Beaconers coming to NYC in March, there was a club on 72nd Street call Triad - it's now a restaurant called "Home." There's also a new subway station at 72nd & Broadway, 2 blocks south of the Beacon. They're taking down the old station now. If anyone wants to see the old station, it was featured with Bruce Willis in "Die Hard 3." The Papaya King @ 72nd & Broadway was featured in an episode of "Sex & The City."

GreatScott.... now how come youre not runnin' a pre-show drink-up for the Jam??? All I've gotten so far is a tip on the Bier Garden. Supposed to have lotsa different brews to quench the cotton before showtime, but 'ats it. Anyone else have a scoop or two to share??? I roll in around 4-ish. Just enuff time to get a half dozen pints and an ear-to-ear grin. First Asheville run for me, so any help would be great. Happy Birthday to Scott. Happy Ho-ho-holidays to the rest of the Peach Corps as well.

Hell yeah, man! Happy birthday to the other Scott--but a "Great One" in his own right. Okay, down to business. One week 'til the Derek Trucks Band hits the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta!! :bounce: :mohawk: :bounce: :mohawk: I've arranged for a little pre-show meet and greet, and I sure hope that some of y'all can be there. I know Hophead will be in attendance, as he owes me what I like to call "The 51-7 Cold One." :boomerang: So, here is the deal. We are meeting at the Brewhouse Cafe, 401 Moreland Avenue, about one block from the venue. It is located at the corner of Euclid and McClendon, right next to Zesto's, in the heart of Little Five Points. They have a fine selection of beers of the world as well as a better than the average bar fare menu. :burger: :haveabeer: And best of all, it is a very short and easy walk to the venue, so you won't have to move your car. As any of y'all that have been to Little Five Points know, parking can be a bit probelmatic there, although certainly not impossible. The Brewhouse Cafe's number is 404-525-7799, in case you need additional information or directions. We'll be hangin' out from 7:00 to 8:30-ish, and the party will be under the name Scott Gibbs. Hope to see a whole peach basket full of y'all there! The Derek Trucks Band rules!! :jump:
