Howdy all! How is everyone in GB-land? I've been away a while. The other day I started to post the details of my fabulous trip to the Beacon, when I realized it was way too long for the GB. So I sent it to Lana and she was kind enough to post it on the main page. Thanks so much Lana!!
Now I really think we need to turn Chicago into a summertime "Beacon Midwest". If people have been to the Beacon and enjoyed it, they will also love the Chicago Theatre, which in my opinion, is actually nicer inside than the Beacon.
Finally, 3 ABB shows in Michigan in one month? Now what did I do to deserve that? :lick:
Oh yes Southpaw. I know a neat rhythm thing to do in that song. Of course that little break thing thows me. My fave version of that song is Raleigh 2000 with the imcomparable Jimmy Herring! That guys got more licks than a giant tootsie roll! LOL!
yes always love jammin to the brothers, HTW radio is another fun one to jam with the cool line up being played 24-7 one of my favorites to jam is Loan me a Dime:guitarist:
Good morning Tunney, Southpaw and Walker.:-) I'm up and no work today. :-p At least the kind you get paid for. There's plenty around the house. Tunney I'm hip to that Carolina Blue sky, but where is it. It is cloudy, overcast and another chance of rain down here.:cold: I'm about ready to scream!:bawl: The natives around the house are getting restless, ornery and mean.:disgust: To all my pickin' buddies out there I believe I'm going to break out the Les Paul, turn up the Marshall and put on Live at Fillmore East and jam.:guitarist: Any y'all ever done that?:D Peace and have a wonderful day. Oh Goliath your pkg. will go into mail today!:a-ok:God bless all y'all!:angel2:
A big shout to David, Rev. Tim and Capt. Skip! Thanks for the packages over the weekend, good stuff.
Wayne
Good morning peoples nobody at work today looks like a long day
hey gang good morning:cool:
I saw Dickey Betts at Westbury, the show was good, but it lacked fire! I was disappointed in the song selection, He really didn't play any Great Southern, and I know this offends some, but I hate when they play songs in that Grateful Dead tempo, so fluid and non threatening. I adore the Allmans and dickey when they harness the fire of Blues and Jazz it up, something no other band is capable of. but don't get me wrong I'll take Dickey or the Brothers on a mediocre night any day of the week, better than Limp Bisquit dribble. Good Morning to all.....Walker
Just heard the new CD!! It is awesome. I have been a fan since 1969 and this CD rates with the Allman's best. Warren's vocals are perfect for the band and Derek's no slouch. The rhythm section drives the band like no other.
:waving: Hi Michael and Hi Steph :waving:
Just popping in to say howdy. Hope everyone's had a wonderful week and a beautiful weekend.
One more MP for the day: "Your name's not Bruce, then? That's going to cause a bit of confusion!"
ABB related: Have on-sale dates for Hot 'Lanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nissan Pavilion, and Montage been announced, yet? I might see about going in on tickets with someone out there. It's more fun sitting with folks you know, and I have "references". 😀
Hi to Terri B and Jim B, my Beacon seat mates! Terri was SO patient with me during my first time!
And thank god we are more likely to have the come Armed ready to take me away than a foreign enemy. God Bless America.
hey, scott, i wasn't out to put ANYone in their place, wherever that may be. as far as my politics, you might be surprised how a) bloodthirsty they may sound, if i ever actually expressed my views to anyone and b) how very very paranoid i am about our own government. in the big ol' picture of things, you're far more likely to have them come to your door, armed, ready to take you away than any foreign enemy.
now, for those of you who like things simple (and simple-minded), reconcile what i'm implying in a) and b) and just TRY to peg me on any liberal / conservative continuum. sheesh.
i figured, how UNcontroversial can you get than to be opposed to Big Brother watching over your shoulder seeing what you READ? those of you who're old enough remember that that's the sort of thing the dang ol' red ROOSKIES did! live and learn and nothing more political from me (although I SWEAR I can't see how something that fundamental is even political.
...out of the darkness & into the light (huh?) 😀

.."And of the sparkling wines, the most famous is Perth Pink, this is a bottle with a message in & the message is: BEWARE!,this is not a wine for drinking, this is a wine for laying down & avoiding" 😀 😀 PEACH OUT...back somewhere....
My favorite two MP skits were "Deja Vu" and "The Cheese Shoppe". These guys were masters in the art of comedy.
Just for fun, check out the picture I recently posted in the "fans" section. It's the one called "My Fantasy." In case you get confused, I'm the one in the middle! 🙂
Happy Easter! Happy 4-20 (you know what I mean), and happy birthday to the lovely Mrs. Sagebrush, who might just get to see her first ABB show this summer. THANK YOU FOR COMING TO AZ!!!
Easy Michael, actually a couple of the Pythons and I were dating the same gal, Claire Voyant.
And the clothing, it was just a phase, honest!
Happy Easter to all.
And a "nee" to Easy Michael.
"She turned you into a newt?!?!"
"Well, I got better ... "
Happy Easter to all -- eat a peep for peace!

When I stopped at my local best buy the other day they had told me it would be available Sunday 4-20....so it might be there now
Hello....
Well, it SURE has been a while since any of you have heard from me. Have stopped by and enjoyed the GB and have missed a few, but all in all, not much has changed now that musical homeostasis has returned. And that is good.
In the next, oh, about 10 days I will be taking my "final" finals and preparing to graduate. So, it's been a ride over the last couple of years, but the effort has been worth it. I know I will actually be happy to get a decent paycheck again!!
On the Band news, well my 2 cents about Hittin the Note is that it is wonderful overall. I love parts of it already, and in many ways, it has enough spice to it to make it one of the Band's better projects when you consider ALL of their work, and in my own view, the BEST of their recent projects. I know Gregg is proud of it, as he should be.
I hope all enjoy THIS day, and no matter how or why or if you celebrate Easter, no doubt about it, it's all a good thang.
Maybe I will see some of you either at City Stages or an ABB gig this summer. Hope to!
Go Ruben!!
Rick
