Anyone else catch the allman brothers reference on Baseball Tonight on ESPN? They didnt seem like the kind of guys who would know anything about my band.
And y'all wonder how I learned to bite my tongue ? None other than Leftcoastblues himself .... his post was perfect .... Thanks Bruthu for keepin' me in line ....
TerriB,
I had no doubt your work schedule would change lol Linnie told me so a month ago he he.
Enjoy
See you in AC
Saw a cd release for June 24th in ICE magazine entitled Allman Brothers Band "Blues." Anyone have any info on the songs? I know Universal did a Blues compilation on Eric Clapton in 1999 and they threw in a few unreleased versions.
If anyone is interested tickets for the Atlantic city Hilton are showing up again...They are in section 101 thats on the side to the left.

hey Nic AAAAEEEEE nice to see you stop by...
a variety of folks are not around these days, and it aint nothing to do with thick skin,or lack of<.
just cause I have a opinion does not mean I can put my thought up here, I have been working on my own nastyness to keep my< mouth shut cause I know I will piss some folks off, its the knowing when to keep quite. I choose not to say something, at times yes I feel I have to make a point. sometimes its just better not to say anything:cool:just mho
Howdy all
Just thought I would bring to folk's attention a newbie "contest" I am doing in the Newbie forum......no points for the right answer from the veterans, but one of the newbies to our midst, Erica, is doggedly pursuing it, and seems quite knowledgable about the blues.
Anyway, if you know the correct answer to my trivia question found therein, pm me
Cheers

Who gives a rats butt what Tom said, get some thick skin folks, it's a free country, he can speak his mind. Don't get so insulted if someone says something you don't agree with, too many people out there get so bent out of shape over words. Life is too short. Agree to disagree, but don't get all over they guy because he has a different point of view.
As a New Yorker, a guy who supports keeping religion out of schools, and a pretty liberal type, I found the other bit not about Warren pretty unnecessary, too. Any particular reason you felt you just had go out and insult some people, Tom?
Anyway, congrats to Terri, Warren and the band. And I did want to say that the Robert Randolph/Gov't Mule show on Thusday was really cool.
The Family Band was much funkier than I expected (I was expecting something more like the Word, but was not disappointed). Warren jammed with them on a song that segued in and out of Purple Haze a couple of times, and that seemed to get him thoroughly warmed up.
The Mule set began with Pygmy Twylye>Blind Man in the Dark, and then Bad Little Doggie>How Many More Years/Goin' Upstairs, which rocked everybody's socks. What a batch of covers, too: the Bee Gees, Chaka Khan, Creedence, Prince, and Frank Zappa (plus jams on Beatles and Grateful Dead songs). Heady stuff.
I've said it before, but I really love George Porter, Jr. on bass with the Mule. And it was announced that the Mule has booked the Beacon for December 29, 30 and 31 of this year (maybe this is old news by now). Mighty cool, though. I had a great time, of course, and Emily and PeachNutt - each attending their first Mule shows - did as well.
I think both sides should stop the insanity. When you look at it, they are really idiotic, they are sitting on what could be one of the best pieces of land...just share it. Easier said than done I guess. This conflict will never end, it's been going on since the book of Exodus. They are setting themselves back light years right now with this tit for tat garbage. It's frustrating to watch. It's interesting that people on both sides are undermining their own people.
well said sage they have been fighting 2000 years there and probably will for another 2000 if there was ever a need for love and tolerance in the world it is in the middle east if we start with our own little corner maybe it can find its way over there.an idealistic thought ??to be sure but we all are responsible for the state of the world we live in
Tom,
I hate seeing political or religion motivated things posted here, but since you threw it out there I feel a need to respond.
First of all, you're comment should have been "even to the Israelis killin' more Palestinian children." Since the Palestinians still claim that this is about land and not religion, let's be clear about that.
Secondly, why so one sided? The Palestinians gladly strap bombs on their own children to commit suicide bombings and have killed their share of Israeli children.
I wish they would all stop the senseless violence, but please don't come on this web site of good vibes and post such a backhanded comment. JUST MHO.
Uh......nevermind. I had to have misread or misunderstood something in that last post.
We lost a great fan earlier this month.
Shawn Davidson of Fairview Mich. A real show goer and also a deadhead.
We will all be a little worse off without him. His web name was "bigbelly", for anyone who may have known him. R.I.P. Shawn.
Good Afternoon Fellow Peachheads. Long Time No See. Hey TerriB, I hope you have a great time. Please look for tapers. haha.
Thanks to the very kind generousity of TerriB, I have 2 excellent tickets to the 7/29 ABB show at the Chicago Theater. I need a single ticket for 7/30. If anyone has a ticket available please PM me. I hope you all have a great week. Peach.

Due to a change in my work schedule, it looks like I'll be heading up to the 3rd annual benefit dinner for Rock and Wrap it Up in New York City tomorrow night where the Allman Brothers Band will be receiving an award which will be accepted by Warren Haynes, who will also be playing a short acoustic set :guitar: :guitarist: :clapping: :rainbow: :mohawk: :glow:
I'll post a report late tomorrow night or on Friday morning.
good morning GB...
as to events being canceled...don't forget about the RAVE act, which enables the government to fine the promoter $250,000 if they "allow" drug use at an event...
a report of an event (a fundraiser) being canceled after DEA agents "informed" promoters of this new "liability" was posted on philzone.
have a nice day, and remember...big brother is watching...
Some time back ( April??) there was a post from a UK resident who found his trip to Canada would enable him to catch the July 9th.Toronto show.Believe he said he would be visting relatives and wanted to know about preshow gathering. Send me a PM if you read this, please.
Billie Jean was #2. And Smells Like Teen Spirit was #1. Seems like a credible list....
