Randall.....Taj arrived yesterday. It sure helped to put a little spring in my step this morning during the commute. Thank you! I needed a little spring. *smile* Bro-in-law update for those who have asked: His surgery was a bit more involved than anticipated by the docs on Friday but after 7 and a half hours they managed to remove both kidneys. Each the size of a football! He was in ICU in much pain over the weekend and on dialysis. He was moved to a reg room Sunday evening but returned to the surgical ICU Monday morning. Doc thought pneumonia...good news, not pneumonia...bad news...he has a pulmonary embolism. They don't really want to give him any blood thinners so not sure how they plan to treat it. So, he's had a rough couple of days and isn't really awake due to the pain meds but we're hopeful he'll be feeling better soon. Thanks to all who have expressed concern. Y'all a great bunch.

TerriB, Where in Ocean City, NJ is Dickey Betts playing at? I was wondering where exactly is the venue at. Hoping to take a ride down and pick up myself a ticket to the show. I heard they are 20 bucks. Looking forward to seeing DB&GS. Any info would be greatly helpful. Thanks a bunch. Greg

Evening folks. I've got the same question as BigWindy for Lana. The Indy 7/25 Murat show is listed as "An Evening with...", but the Murat web site shows KDTU as the opener. Having gone to the Chicago Theater the past two years, I'm spoiled with the 2-set shows. I can't make Chi this year, but was hoping Indy would be similar. OK, done bitchin...'cause I know I'll be in my glory either way!! Bring'em on! Ron

Yeah Bob, those seats were not comfortable...and we weren't allowed out of them! Anyway, it was good to see you, John F, and NYPeachHead at the show...see you in Ocean City on 7/14?

Ohhhhh Hell Yes TerriB!!! Much better than Kahunaville. Don't get me wrong they played well and yes lots of smiling and interplay, Oteil looked like he was having a blast, heck they all were. Just the first time in well 24 years I saw a 2 hour Allman Brothers show I always avoided the Double Billed Shows with the Allman's because I never wanted to experience a 2 or less hour show from them. The Seats were great not what you sat in though and making people sit should be outlawed at all shows. what a horrible time to say bad things about a man who dedicated his life to government service.

tedray, the Cincy show last year was a good one, in my opinion! However, I recall the fireworks from the amusement park next door going off right in the middle of the very quiet, thoughtful "I've Been Loving You Too Long". I think it was a year ago today that Lana wore her Hurricanes hockey jersey to the Detroit show--in 94 degree heat! 😀 Charlie, Winwood was playing the bass parts with his feet at VA Beach, too. It just didn't move me like it could have, is all... I thought he needed a good bass :guitarist: However, one CD where the B-3 player plays the bass pedals and just *cooks* is Larry Goldings on Maceo Parker's "Life on Planet Groove"! If you can sit still through most of that CD, your pulse needs to be checked! Go, Larry, Go Larry!

If anyone needs two tickets to tomorrow's show in Cincy, I may have them. A daughter's friends aren't going to be able to join us. I'll know by noon tomorrow. they're in the 900 section dead center. A ways back but in the middle. Face value, of course, maybe even trade them for a couple vintage CD recordings of this year's or last year's shows. Let me know.

Yesterday I was going through piles of things I had saved because I am moving in a couple of weeks. I figured I better begin "trimming the fat" now to make the move as easy as possible. I found the Billboard 12/18/99 edition that had the 18 pages of articles and ads celebrating the ABB's 30th year. I was pleasantly surprised to find the last article in the section was about Lana, Rowland, and the original ABB site. I guess it didn't "register" back in 1999 because I wasn't fortunate to have known any of you, yet, but I don't recall that particular article from when I got the magazine. What a pleasant thing to re-read! Enjoy your day!
