I just received my 2nd Instant Live - I can't tell how disappointed I am with both the quality and the sound. I've decided to try and take a few out of circulation...I have Indy and Hartford..if anyone else would want to send me their original copies of the other 4 please PM me...will pay full price.
:winky: 😎
Happy Lanaroo Saturday Folks,
Hi to everyone :waving:
from Ellwood City, having a great time with our PA family. We even had a sleep over with Billy last night...too cool 😎
Lana, Shey and David arrived safe and sound. Donna's making us dinner, Shey & David are building the guruvy nametags that I made especially for the Lanaroo festivities. Chatty Kathy aka Lana is on the phone. Nicole is talking everyone's ears off 😆 Frankie, Shelby and Rayshone are on the video game marathon. Lynn and Frank are chilling on the couches...too much fun had last night me thinks and me well I'm here with you folks...for now 🙂
Oh and Shelby made his guitar playing debut in the dining room for us all...very cute I must say as Lana, Donna and I held up lighters when he finished his rendition of "Little Martha". 😎
Can't wait to hear Matt Barranti Band with Dusty Sommers and David Sutton guest sit ins...they're going to tear the roof off the Keystone Bar...:guitar: :guitarist:
Well have a great evening folks and after we come down off of cloud nine tomorrow, we'll post about all the fun times we're going to have.
 :bounce:

Bird 72,
Thanks for the info on the new Leslie West cd. I will order it today.
Leslie West has a rock and Roll guitar school like Jorma's. I don't know much about it othere than it is a good school.
Leslie and Corky(Mountain drummer) have released with awesome liner notes the remastered Mountain cds. I bought 2 of them and they have a live song at the end of each cd. Excellent sounding!
Leslie and Corky with another bass player (since Felix passed away) tour as Mountain. That would be fun to see..
I saw Mountain in 1970 and Leslie tore it up on stage. " Mississippi Queen" Yikes! A good Tune that Warren plays occasionally with the Mule. The first time I saw Warren with the Mule I said doesn't he sound a little like Leslie West to my friends in attendance that night.
That post bird 72 got my brain moving a little, dangerously little.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I have gotten through about 3 hours out of 7 watching the Grateful Deads new DVD " The closing of the winterland" Killer songs and some great playing by the band.
Sang, Happy belated birthday, I will see you next Friday for Uncle Phil and Friends.

Go here and vote for the Brothers if you please.
Got my 2 Instant Lives I ordered.... Darien and Pittsburgh,,, what great sound.... I'm spoiled. Also.... got a great, great new CD...... "Blues To Die For" LESLIE WEST... hey Peachnutster, ya gotta get this CD, get it now damnit, I'm still working on you and someone elses IOU CD's, be done this weekend... back to Leslie, man oh man, this guy is a monster, this CD is one where I was in my car, repeadedly turning it louder, until my ears hurt, and then leaving it there.... had the involuntary bop going, lord of mercy, that dude is a bad man.... he found his new niche for sure.... His ukelele rap on one song is side splitting... of course being Leslie, there is a trace of Mountain once in a while, but not much..... he still plays the Les Paul JR, and in pure Leslie style, the center CD photo has him flipping you off. Great blues.... if you heard it and didn't know the voice or guitar, you would go WHO IS THIS! Also, it is the only album, to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, where the artist calls the producer a fat ugly bastard.
Warren and his other 2 bands were great last night at the Fillmore in Denver. We missed half of the Mule show because of traffic , but were able to catch Soulshine. Phil and friends sounded great I loved Sunshine of your Love. Warren is the "hardest working man in Rock and Roll"

Bad news :
Monroe County High loss playoff game last nite 34-27 to St James. Boys cried after game with band playing school song.
Good News:
No more road trips on band bus this year. Heading to Aikens Friday for Magical Mystery Tour III and Alabama-Auburn game weekend.
Thursday nite Kay takes me to Gulf Shores for crab claws and Women of Rock at FloraBama. They are to play at 8 so I can get the kids home fairly early. 2hr drive. Paige & friend have school Friday. They are driving me back. Looking forward to first Donna Hopkins gig. Should be nice BD gift from Kay.
Go Bama. Go GA.
Have a good weekend brothers and sisters.

Jimmy Herring, Rob Barraco Jam with Gov’t Mule
Guitarist Jimmy Herring and keyboardist Rob Barraco, along with regular guests Chris Robinson and Paul Stacey, joined Gov’t Mule last night at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO. Robinson and Stacy (New Earth Mud) came out at the beginning of the second set for “Almost Cut My Hair,” “Oh Well,” “Southern Man” and “Dreams I’ll Never See.” Herring and Barraco emerged later for an instrumental jam that segued into “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and Barraco remained for the set-closing “I Know You Rider.” For the encore, Robinson, Herring and Barraco returned for “Key to the Highway.
The first set was a complete performance of Gov't Mule's self-titled debut album, which was released in 1995. This marks the third time this tour that the band has played one of its albums in its entirety. Dos (1998) was performed October 10 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia and Life Before Insanity (2000) was played October 24 at the Vic Theater in Chicago.
Herring and Barraco are in Colorado for Phil & Friends’ three-night run at the Fillmore in Denver this weekend. Warren Haynes will pull double duty as Gov’t Mule is opening each night, while New Earth Mud will play post-shows tonight and tomorrow at Cervantes.
