Attn NYers...Wanna get intimate with the dTb?? The Derek Trucks Band is adding a special NYC show on January 11th! After a great show at Town Hall in New York the DTB would like to do a more intimate show in NYC for the fans. Yeah I caught the Gregg clone on Queer Eye last night. When they asked him what kind of music his band played his response was "blues and a little southern rock." I was just waiting for the words "Allman Brothers" to come from his mouth. Of course I had to watch the rest of the show to see if his band played any Brothers tunes at the end...no dice. I kinda thought the guy looked like Gregg from the late eighties on crack. On a totally different subject I bought the DVD documentary on the 2003 Bonnaroo music festival titled “270 miles to Graceland.” The main reasons I shelled out $30 for it was because I attended the festival and for the footage of the Brothers’ playing a tasty version of Desdemona. The Brothers portion starts out real cool showing the guys greeting each other for the first time since the Beacon shows and having a group shot taken. Then they go into the concert footage and everything is looking good and sounding good until the completion of Gregg’s piano solo. Much to my dismay the song is edited and jumps about half way into Derek’s solo and then at the end of that, and I mean before hitting the bridge guitar riff/chorus, they jump to about three-fourths the way through Warren’s solo. I was so pissed!!! I know the Allman’s gave them the right to use their song but I can’t believe they would allow the director to edit and mess with their music/art. The editing job sounds like crap too. It is also not noted that the songs content is edited. For a person that might not be familiar with the tune it is really a crappy representation of the Allman’s music. I know I would walk away from hearing it shaking my head. If I had known this was the case I would have never purchased the damn thing. I really want to email the director/producer of the DVD and demand my money back for false advertisement. I also wonder if the Allman’s management is aware what they did with the Brother’s music and if it is legal. Anyways I hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to seeing the Atlanta folks on the 26th of December at the DTB show. Take care, Ryan

Of the many friendships I have made through the GB none is more valuable than my friendship with SPDB. A truly class act, a gifted talent, and a true brother. Sorry I missed your birthday, Bro. Hope it was good. Black socks for thanksgiving, 'eh? Nice touch. Reminder of how thankful I am to Lana and Rowland for HTW. I'm meeting Monday with the Cultural Arts director to begin focusing our plans for next year's Jam. We'll wait til GABBA has their dates set before contacting management of the bandS as to specific bookingS. We never want to overshadow or compete with what the Potters and others do for the extended family every year (hope you're feeling better, Greg). We try to complement what they do by giving folks that travel long distances something to do on bookend weekends. Best wishes to all the extended family for a great Thanksgiving holiday. EAPFP

Eddie P - I totally agree with you on the Atlanta Mule show - those four numbers with G.A. sitting in were awesome - I'd probably have a heart attack if at a Mule show out popped G.A. at the Electric Factory - maybe next year. Happy Gobble Gobble everyone!!

I don't know....I thought the guy the Fab Five were fussin' over looked like our very own Bird -- before they cut the hair and shaved the beard!! But I knew it wasn't him when he seemed lost in the kitchen. *grin* Played a nice lil blues ditty at the end, too. Hang in there, Scotty!!

Good morning all.....hope that everyone has a Happy Turkey Day!!! Any of you familiar with the comedian Pam Stone?? She has a radio program that is syndicated in our area...yesterday morning as I am driving to work I was listening to her talking about snow globes....according to her you have your winter scene snow globes, your santa snow globes, etc...then she said that she had seen Jesus snow globes...she is trying to describe it to the her show producer....she described him sitting on a bench and that he had long blonde hair....that he looked like Gregg Allman in a snow globe!!! Someone has taken Gregg's likeness and using it for Jesus!!!! Please, I dont mean any disrespect to anyone religious beliefs....I just thought that her description was funny...
