HELL YEAH! omg I just love love love Duane Betts, if he aint a chip off the ol block :cowboy: Who plays like that???? Unreal! That is what is missing in todays music THANK YOU Rainy! in all truth, I was half asleep, flicking channels, damned near fell off the love seat, maybe we are all crazy šŸ™‚ I just caught a glimpse, my heart starting beating too fast, was instantly awake. So many great memories and good times tied to the music of the Allman Brothers, heartbreakers too, etched forever in my Soul, Ya know? Just the sight of the young people, Duane Betts, Berry Duane, Michael, Devin, Derek & Susan ( the old Souls :))makes my heart skip a beat. I have a dear friend, a beautiful young woman, her girls dance with my granddaughter.. We hang together Wednesdays at the studio while the girls r dancing.. Last Wed, she says to me, "say look at this" and shows me a couple of videos on her phone , (one of her customers shared with her šŸ™‚ ) a few were from Wanee, another from that Gospel brunch with Berry and Pedro.. made me so happy, "that's Berry & Pedro! " she says who?" and I answered "my people" lol One Sunday soon, her and I are going to get a few ladies together and go out for brunch šŸ™‚ let our men sleep in while we indulge in super Sunday service Rainy, when r you coming down? you and the hubby need to come for dinner when you r in town

No Carol I saw Duane with Dawes as well on Letterman. He has been playing gigs with them for a bit now though it is not clear if he is a full time member yet. I hope so, they are a talented young band.

This just came up on my facebook page - so glad I saw him last summer - this makes me sad but I totally understand where he is coming from. This has been a very tough year so far for Dickey Betts. At Christmastime, his brother Joel was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. A few weeks ago, Joel passed away. Dickey and Joel were very close, in fact sharing the same birthday. Dickey advised me that he has decided to discontinue touring until further notice. He also wanted everyone who posted condolences to know it meant a lot to him to read them. I hope you join me and respect the privacy of the Betts family at this time. Signed, David Spero

Oh my. At Bonnaroo last year The TTB did that ā€œSuperjamā€ thing and it was amazing. Apparently they are now stepping it up: Lockn’ Festival Confirms Joe Cocker Tribute Featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band, Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, Chris Robinson and More This year at Lockn’, a special tribute to the late Joe Cocker will take place featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band, Leon Russell, Dave Mason, Rita Coolidge, Chris Robinson, Doyle Bramhall II and others to be announced later. The project includes several of those who were involved with Cocker in the Mad Dogs & Englishmen project including Russell, Dave Mason and Rita Coolidge. Lockn’ co-founder Dave Frey told Relix, ā€œLast year, In preparing for LOCKN’ 2014, we worked very hard to pair Joe Cocker with the Tedeschi Trucks Band, an idea that handlers for both Artists were warm to. Eventually Joe’s team said ā€œperhaps next year.ā€ This year we revisited the idea and Joe’s team immediately passed, sadly we now all know why.ā€ Frey added, ā€œBecause the performances and songs from that tour (and the following record and movie) were so impactful, a seed was planted. A lot of time was then spent hearing from those who were there, listening to the CD’s, and watching the movie. A determination was made that a single singer would not be standing in the Joe Cocker spot, and that Leon Russell, Chris Robinson, Susan Tedeschi, Dave Mason and Rita Coolidge would each interpret a few songs. There are more Artists that will soon be added, and I’m certain that all the work it’s taken to put this together will make for yet another once in a lifetime exclusive Lockn’ performance.ā€ Tickets to Lockn’ are available here. Peace & Get Behind The Mule, Tom :smoke:

b4 I head out..Deb and East Coast FLA fans, in case you missed this- Butch Trucks has announced he will be playing a Pre-Wanee Festival warmup Show at The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton, Florida on April 14th. Joining him will be Berry Oakley, Jr. along with some very special friends and guests. The Funky Biscuit is undoubtedly one of South Florida's best music club venues and if you are an Allman Brothers fan, this show is not to be missed. dang it, I wish Butch they would think about doing this here in SW FLA too.

great one Rainy! keep'em coming! When r u going to come see us here in SW FL? Am very excited, years and years ago ripped out the lawn and gave away the exotics, planted the garden in mostly FLA natives. We enjoy being surrounded birds singing, bees buzzing , butterflies on wing... we did it IMO Brother Duane. His music is so inspirational to me. So wild and free.. This has been a good year for the Springtime wildflowers, best ever.. Nearing full bloom, fantastic drifts of yellows , blues, soft buttery whites, chartreuse , peachy corals and fuchsia have exploded into living color...Butterflies r everywhere :fly: the best part, we saved a "snag" (dead tree trunk) a coconut palm the hurricane blew the top off of..it happens..to everything is a purpose Easter morning, we noticed a tiny..so tiny..perhaps 6 inches from the tip of his little ear tufts to the tip of his tail, Eastern Screech Owl hiding in a little mini Date Palm growing under the old snag.. Even smaller then a Burrowing Owl, I thought he was a baby Great Horned Owl at first glance. Id never seen anything like him before šŸ™‚ He sits right up next to the trunk, blending in perfectly camouflaged , while the thorny palm fronds, covered with horrific needle spines, wave up and down in front of him in the breeze. Like guards waving swords . We could hear a mate calling to him after sunset... while he hunted geckos out back and returned her cries. This morning she appeared, delicate and ladylike, but now this afternoon she disappeared. They barely open their eyes during the day, let alone fly off. Im sure she must be starting to nest inside coconut palm snag, entered through holes the Red-belly Woodpeckers drilled. Leastways, hope she is... Wish us luck. Am trying to work brown coloured flashing into some kind of raccoon guard, to protect possible future owlets. Any ideas and/or suggestions appreciated..
