That sounds pretty darn nice to me. They are calling for a little more snow here while I am away but I think it's gonna warm to the 30s. Yeah Florida sounds nice. Gotta get my work done so I'm not up all night. Where are all the others?

I am headed to the sunshine state tomorrow. Leaving the Mrs & Baby in 3 degree snow & ice to go to a buisiness function for 3 days way down south. I feel bad about having to go but I think I will feel a little better when I get there.

GREAT i-view of Warren on the radio. 'Mentioned that Mule is 1/2 thru another studio album. Also said he has around 100 guitars in his collection. He didn't comment on rumors that the ABB was considering starting a foundation to help fund drunk driving convictions for those who drive home drunk from their gigs. :clapping: Obviously I'm not first on his list of potential babysitters but I've never heard him mention children of his own. Where's my Mule?! The Vogue! 😎

Hey TanDan thanks for checkin that out. So I pay in $500.0 a month in todays $ for say 40 years ($240,000.00) and 25 years from now I can get back $1,000.00 a month for 10 years IF I BEAT the odds and live longer than the average man, for say $120,000. While those guys get $1,000 PER WEEK or $520,000 for 10 years if they stay congressmen into their 60s. If they retire in there 50s it could be well over a Million. Do you think they put a million in to their plan? I don't think so Do you think they put 1/2 million into ther plan? not likely I bet my tickets to the Beacon that they dont put in half of what they get back where you and I put in Twice what we get back if we are lucky! Oh and who pays the rest of theirs? You and I my friend. I did not claim the information to be accurate just passing it on. And it is grossly mis stated but even the truth hurts. I for one would gladly opt out of SS system if possible, invest the $500 a month and twenty years from now I would be worth millions and I would't care how much my congressman was getting. The REAL IMPORTANT thing is that in 52 days I won't care anyway cause I'm goin to the Beacon fo rthe first time ever.

From www.urbanlegends.com is the following. I'll just pass it on to the GBr's concerning an earlier post and let you make your own decision on the matter. As for myself I always try and check out anything that I pass on as a fact to others. The web is full of stuff like this. Congressional Pensions vs. Social Security Netlore Archive: Is it true that members of Congress don't pay into Social Security, instead receiving lavish pensions at taxpayer expense? Description: Email rumor Status: Inaccurate Circulating since: April 2000 Analysis: See below Comments: It's true that members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives enjoy a generous government pension plan — some say too generous — but this email rant offers very little else in the way of accuracy. Under a law enacted in 1983, all members of Congress participate in the Social Security system, both contributing and receiving benefits. Upon retirement, members receive either a combination of federal pension and Social Security benefits or Social Security alone, depending on when their term of service started and how they configured their individual plan. Members elected after 1983 pay into the Federal Employees Retirement System. Members elected before 1983 participate in the older Civil Service Retirement Program. In both cases, members of Congress contribute to the plans at a slightly higher rate than ordinary federal employees. As of 2000, 409 retired members were receiving benefits under CSRS at an average rate of $52,464 per year and 53 had retired under FERS with $46,932 per year in average benefits. Members do not automatically received lifetime pensions. How much they receive and how long they receive it depends on many factors, including age, length of service (including military) and choice of plans, etc. So, while it's conceivable that some may receive pay-outs totalling more than a million dollars by the time they die, it would be the exception, not the rule
