We may not have to get up so early on 3/20, I think the Weekend Today show starts at 9AM, and not 7AM like the M-F version. Either way, I'll bet it would be hard to get any band menbers up at that hour! Good luck to Lana, because if anyone can get something done, its our Queen of Peach! See you there! Mitch

Hey there sweet family, Skydog, Jimmy, thanks for the input, but what we're shooting for is getting on-camera as part of the crowd outside 30 Rock' when the stars of the show are outside doing weather or other features. A little trivia for y' ... HTW and the Peach Corps were featured on a nationally syndicated TV show a few years back. Can anyone remember the name of it?? 🙂 Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Give'm an idea how far people travel for the Beacon shows. And what parts of the counttry/world will be represented by peach corps members in the Today Show audience. The email is a good idea cause instead of a glimpse we might get 30 seconds or a minute. Lana could get Oteil, DT or WH to agree to a short interview if the show would do it.

Lana has always been a huge today show fan. never done the today show. However, I have made it in and on good morning america. The key is to send an email to get into the studio as a guest and know something to show your a true fan. For example- Diane sawyer can reccomend a shampoo for ANY city. pretty bizare but from experience in 3 states she knows her stuff and Chalie always tries to bust her. I would suggest that we start emailing for some sort of peach food theme. Soemthing about the allmans, bands history at the beacon. Maybe someone can get a person to do a spoof piece ala life as a peachhead. I don't watch the today show but if someone starts piping up with things we should get the creative jucies going and email them like crazy. just a thought-- scotty

Who cares about the Grammy? This band doesn't need trophies, especially from a bunch of half-wits in the music "industry." Most of the "artists" that "won" a Grammy tonight don't deserve to be in the same area code as The Allman Brothers Band anyway (no disrespect to Jeff Beck, he is the exception).

Are they going by the name subdudes or The Dudes. They were going by The Dudes because the bassist was not playing with them and they brouht someone in from The Tommy malone band as one of his drummers. I love their music got to see them in Sante Fe a few years back. Brent did you catch them opening for the ABB in Cali awhile back?

Scott and Sheep, that was the first time I had met any GBers, so that was a special day for me all around! Although I was initially a little nervous pulling up to the Fish Camp that afternoon, I have very fond memories of that day. That feeling just grows each time I meet someone new from these sites. Once again, thank you, Lana and Rowland, for giving us a place to hang out and get to know one another! Lammie and Fred, although it's not nearly as great as HTW, check out subdudes.com. Thankfully, they've abandoned calling themselves "the Dudes"; that name just didn't work for me! It was only a 350 seat theater, and it sold out quickly to some rabid, lively fans. They have a new album, er, CD, coming out in April--something like "Miracle Mule", which Tommy Malone shared the story of the title's origin. Lammie, Doug, our webmaster, and his family got there very early and got us front row, center seats. I was directly in front of Tommy, and if he was a "spitter" like Bob Weir, I would have been soaked by the end of the show. The "drummer", Steve, was front of stage to my left, so I got a good look at his setup: bass drum, snare, one cymbal, and a miked tambourine that was his main instrument. He used brushes for the most part, and it was fascinating to watch him keep the beat like he did--and sing wonderful harmonies, too. Their four voices have such a neat blend. Tommy played a Gibson acoustic, and a Gretsch hollowbody, a Fender Strat (that sure looked like it had done some livin') for slide, and a Tele. The four vocalists, along with the acoustic guitar and squeeze box, went out in the middle of the theater and played and sang without any amplification for a song, too. That was sweet. They also went out in the hall for a meet-n-greet after the show. It was a great night! Glad you got home safely, Marsha! I hope none of the JSBC participants are feeling like this today... :greenhair: Say, have you noticed that it's staying lighter later?
