Thats a lot of lovin and bundles of joy!!!! congrats to all those hard-working Mommies and Daddies! Krishna..thanks for sharing that great vacation..i needed a break..Its delightfully cool for SW FLA today, great overcast clouds ( try hot tropical sun 24/7 and see how good Rain, Rain, Rain starts sounding!) and I am taking Grandbaby-dolly to the beach to do the Sanibel stoop...aka collecting pretty seahells ... to top off our crushed seashell mulch..Howdy Cowboy! yeah, it was cool, stuck out my thumb ..I still cant believe I used do do that..times were so innocent then...15 years old..I was running away from the Bronx..hitchiked to some campus, I beleive, out on the Island...I remember it being a soft, beautiful LI summer day..Duane's last summer..God bless him always...my only previous concert experience (not counting big city orchestras- ie Peter and the Wolf type music) was Kenny Rogers and the First Edition (did I get that right?) at Canarsie High School in Bklyn...great swamp town, lousy concert..we all walked out..I remember thinking, Ill give this concert thing one last shot.... I simply wasnt musically in tune enough to notice anything but how good I felt that day...high on the music and the mountain of love.. We can all count our blessings that it still charms us like it does..what a great bunch of musicians they all are!!!!Debbie..you remember seeing Duane...tell us about him... Lana, you sure are making it hard to say no to the Beacon....when do we get a hint at the Southern show dates? the suspense is killing me! peaches, ya'll, Ca
libby girl...
thanks so much for the Buddy & Julie Miller surprise...
will crank it up tonite...

Rodess, you are correct, of course. It was a long time ago. My bad.
Hello to all my happenin brothers & sisters out there!! 🙂
I haven't been able to stop by the GB for a while...just got back from "The Family Vacation...Gov't Mule Style"!! 🙂
My husband,my 2 sons(ages 11 & 7),and myself took a lil vacation to Charleston/SC for an extended Friday-Monday stay! There were great times!!There were bad times!!(REALLY only bad times in the car...600 miles ONE WAY!WHEW!!)We did ALOT of historical sight-seeing...Fort Sumter boat tour/narrated carriage rides thru town/Charleston market/the Battery/etc.. all the stuff people like to do while visiting the area!!Had a great time!Oh,yeah!Did I mention that we caught Sunday night's Gov't Mule show @ the N.Charleston Performing Arts Center!?!Please...let me take some of your precious time to share this w/ you...
This show...ohmygoodness!!!My husband & I have traveled alot to see alot of Mule shows!!We've been fans for forever of the original Gov't Mule...and we love the "Rebirth"new Gov't Mule, also! My children LOVE the Mule! They're raised around ALOT of music...so they're VERY music-wise for their ages!!GOV'T MULE BLEW THEM AWAY!!They are still hypnotized by the show!!My 11 yr old hasn't stopped talking about the Mule nor has he stopped drawing ALL of the Mule'sCD cover artwork...he wants to be Warren Haynes when he grows up!!On the other hand,my 7 yr old wants to be Matt Abts when he grows up!Daddy got 'em a drumstick! Now they have QUITE the collection of guitar picks/original set lists/drumsticks/ticket stubs/dated& some signed billboards/etc... for their inheritance!!Mom's not done adding to that collection either!! 🙂 back to the show...from My viewpoint...thank God for Warren Haynes!!I am amazed EVERY TIME that I see that man perform!!He just blows me away!!His voice was soooo powerful on the opener(Grinnin' in your face)...his voice is ALWAYS powerful...but the whole place felt like it was trembling w/ every note...I glanced around the crowd...and I'm not kidding...EVERYONE around us was completely overwhelmed by the force of Warren!!The whole band just keeps getting tighter & more familiar w/ each other...musically in-tune w/ each other...better & better together each time I see them!!Their lights even seem to be getting better...and I wasn't even drinking!I just feel that the show definitely made a strong impression on my children...'specially on my 11yr old!!When I looked at him and saw him singing along to ALOT of the songs...it made my heart sing!! 🙂
The power of music is such a GREAT thing!! 🙂
May good vibes & the kindest of thoughts be w/ each of you!! 🙂
Sheep....I'm with you. The renditions of True Gravity from Summer 99 and Beacon 00 was (to me) the highlight of the short Dickey/Derek era. Derek took both the original Warren and Johnny N solo spots and just *glided* through that song so well and the handoff to Dickey was just so effortless. It clocked in at about 11 minutes and without a second wasted.
Congratulations Brent! :fanfare: Does this mean the last of your Beacon trips this year? 😉
Thanks to PhotoRon for the absolutely smoking 12/31/91 ABB show. Wow!
And Neil if I could, I must disagree with you about the worst candy ever. Those taffy-like things called Mary Janes that people would hand out at Halloween were the worst in my opinion. Hard as rocks. You could put someone's eye out with one of them suckers. And I don't see how it was possible to actually eat one without pulling out a filling. Or a tooth. 😉
Congratulations to Brent & Julie and Derek & Susan!!!! More little peachheads on the way!!
Buppalo, I've been thinking of Tommy Cash as well, gosh I do miss him so much but I know he is watching over us...........Hi, to all my friends !!!!
hey gang good morning:cool:
Congrats Brent and Julie, and to the Trucks family as well. little creatures of love, gotta love it!
Carol, One Duane show may not have been enough, but I would trade alot of shows I have seen to say I saw ONE! I am old but missed Duane by a couple of years.
Valentines Day, Only holiday where candy made pre world war two can still be used. I swear the Govt has a silo or ten full of them, They just modernise the sayings. The MOST Horrible candy ever made those little hearts with Love Me printed on them
Congrats to Brent and Mrs Left Coast and also to the Trucks/Tedeschi family!!!
Congrats to you & the mrs...Brent!
my oldest turned 18 sunday...
can't believe it...
really miss that toddler age...
they are so much fun at that age...
Derek & Oteil got to play True Gravity on the '99 tour. One of Derek's best solos on that tour, imo.
Or Kind of Bird....

Here's a scary one...can you imagine where Warren, Derek, Oteil & Chuck could take True Gravity?
Hey JNB, you have really whet the appetite now. Any chance this new archive release will be available by March and on sale at the Beacon ??? As I am coming over from the UK for the 3/27 show it would sure be a lot easier for me to purchase it there than by international mail as usual.
Hi again :angel:s,
The POG information is on the home page too (along with my new favorite graphic 😉 ) , in case you want to direct folks to it.
Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana
Buppalo1
I think you've gotten Three Dog Night mixed up with Blood, Sweat & Tears.
That's a first 🙂
Good mornin' sweet family,
This POG was sent yesterday evening, but it looks like the proverbial "technical difficulties" may have tripped it up:
Hey there sweet family,
Our sources at Q104, New York's only classic rock station, tell us they'll be announcing the following tomorrow morning, February 17, about 8:00 AM:
By overwhelming demand a 9th and final Allman Brothers Band performance at the Beacon Theatre in 2004 has been added. The performance date is Sunday, March 28. Showtime is 8:00 PM
Tickets go on-sale this Friday, February 20, at 9:00 AM at the Beacon Box office and all TicketMaster methods of purchase. There is a 4 ticket limit per person.
In the past the Beacon has generally made SRO tix for all ABBeacon shows available. Look for them to be on-sale at the same time.
Those of you with an AmEx Gold Card might want to use (212) 307.GOLD for your tix.
There will be *no* Peach Corps pre-sale for this additional show.
Kid Glove Enterprises, Inc. (home of Hittin' the Note magazine) will soon be taking presale orders for the new ABB CD, One Way Out, which was recorded at the Beacon last year. All orders will be shipped priority mail and should arrive on the day the CD hits stores and is available at the Beacon, March 23. The price is $24.98 plus shipping. The order link will be:

If memory serves me correctly, Derek and Susan had their first baby about a month after my first was born. Now this?? Geez Derek, I know that I am cool, but c'mon....let me have my own thunder for once.
For those of you following along at home......were gonna have a new li'l leftcoaster in August.
