Mercy me...hotlantatim!! What thoughts you've put in my head!! Mike Mattison would definitely be a wonderful guest vocalist for a tune or two during the Beacon run!! Paired with Greg or Warren works, but I think he and Oteil could certainly cook up something smoooooooooth, too. Oh, the possibilities!! C'mon Mike...pack that smile and come to the Upper West Side! I was hoping he and Taj Mahal would team up and give us a combined effort on Leavin Trunk or Statesboro Blues on the Blues Cruise, but it was not to be. Unless it happened in the wee hours one night after this cruiser was more a snoozer! Another music note: I see Van Morrison is making some US cities again. Tough ticket to get, but worth a try. And Jody...Mr. Crosby and CPR are booked around the area mid-March. I know that's making you *smile* Have a fat Tuesday, y'all!!

GreatScott, the DTB is not opening for the ABB. As much as it might have been fun it is not correct info. Blake Budney is getting in touch with jambase.com to correct their info. I posted it to the listserv yesterday that it was not so since the YSB is going to be in Richmond on the 18th and maybe they will squeeze out another gig too while Derek is with the ABB. I have high hopes they will, here's to hoping! Got my fingers crossed they do!

Hey there sweet family, KCJimmy ... yesss! 😉 GreatScott, the Beacon is traditionally an Evening With the Allman Brothers Band. I haven't heard that anything different is planned for this year and would be surprised if there were. Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

I Aam serious JNB you should list those things on ebay with a "Buy It Now" option for $25.00. You'd kill the market.

Hey now! There is a rumor over on the listserv that the Derek Trucks Band will be opening for the Allmans during the entire Beacon run. Any truth to that? Anyone, anyone? Lana? Rowland? 🙂

Johnny Winter has an all new studio album due out in like a month or two. I am very anxious to hear it. Recent pictures show him looking good, gained some weight (good) and good color.... made me feel very encouraged along with being in the studio. Concert reports from recent years were so-so, but many mostly made comments about his looking so bad...... I am very anxious to hear the new one, I expect a pleasant surprise. You can't keep Johnny down, 60 or not.......

...my wife is 73% Dixie according to the test. Born and lived all her life in Georgia; graduated from Mercer University ( College Street in Macon; go figure!). She was a house guest during those college years many a meal at Dr. and Mrs. Charles Burton's home. It wasn't until many years after the fact that I informed her that Dr. Burton was the man that tried in vain to save Duane Allman's life. My wife, even not knowing Dr. Burton's connection to the ABB has nothing but the highest praise for the man. She told me he never talked about it and she didn't know to ask...

Hey KCJimmy, I recently got a list of all the Instant Lives selling on e-bay. WOW!!! Given the prices they are commanding I coulda been rich - and out of a job! LOL! I would much rather an ABB fan have them for $20.00. JNB
