In keeping with the spirit of things here..... The martians landed here strictly for documentation purposes... I asked them for investment advice and the Venutians got mad cause the upper west side was too pricey and then the Peking Duck was crispy but not like at the old place where we had been taught to drink Wan Fu. Major Tom to Ground Control..... The Beacon countdown is way way way down ... Welcome to New York .....Be nice to the residents and we'll be nice to you.

Just for the record I don't feel someone should actually be "banned" unless they are completely vulgar or are personally attacking another person here. However, deleting a "few" posts for easier scrolling and reading is a different story. If someone is taking up too much real estate with nonsense, "some" of those posts should be deleted cause we all need to be able to see "who is posting "AND" what they are posting about" because we genuinely all care about eachother here and someone might have some "important" news to share with the guest book "family". Sometimes health issues are discussed here and other personal matters that need to be addressed. People are also trying to make plans with traveling etc for the Beacon run and having to scroll past endless amounts of gibberish makes it difficiult for all involved. I think that makes sense, don't you? Thats all....resume. On another topic... For those that care about song stats and that sort of thing, here is last years stats for songs played and how many times each was played. Mountain Jam was played 16 times which IMO is a nice number! That works out to about once in every 4 shows. The ABB played exactly 60 different tunes last year - sweeeet! I'd like to see 5 or 6 more make the cut... I am Not responsible for this but here are last years song stats which were put together and posted on the Forum by "Gondicar"...Nice job Gondi! "Total number of shows" - 55 "Song Title" # Times Played Statesboro Blues 42 Instrumental Illness 37 Midnight Rider 37 Desdemona 36 Rocking Horse 34 Woman Across The River 30 Dreams 28 Ain't Wastin' Time No More 27 One Way Out 26 Trouble No More 23 The High Cost Of Low Living 22 Every Hungry Woman 19 Soulshine 19 Whipping Post 19 Black Hearted Woman 18 Melissa 18 Old Before My Time 18 Done Somebody Wrong 17 Firing Line 17 Revival 17 The Same Thing 17 Wasted Words 17 Come and Go Blues 16 Don't Keep Me Wonderin' 16 Good Morning Little School Girl 16 Mountain Jam 16 No One To Run With 15 Southbound 15 You Don't Love Me 15 Hot 'Lanta 14 Layla 14 Stand Back 14 In Memory of Elizabeth Reed 13 Worried Down With The Blues 13 Forty-Four Blues 12 Leave My Blues at Home 12 Who to Believe 11 Who's Been Talking 11 Don't Want You No More > 10 It's Not My Cross To Bear 10 Don't Think Twice 9 Good Clean Fun 9 Gambler's Roll 8 Hoochie Coochie Man 8 Into The Mystic 8 Stormy Monday 6 Patchwork Quilt 5 Banks of the Deep End 4 Come On In My Kitchen 4 I've Been Lovin' You Too Long 4 Maydell 4 Old Friend 4 All Night Train 3 Change Is Gonna Come 3 End Of The Line 3 Heart of Stone 3 Born Under A Bad Sign 1 How Long Blues 1 Please Call Home 1 Rock Me Baby 1 Peace

Scotty - You CANNOT miss the Beacon, it would be a complete tragedy. Even if you have to fly out Friday night I'll come pick you up @ whatever airport you hit Saturday AM. After all your hard word planning and love for the music this would be the ulitimate drag.

Here's a quote from an ABC news site regarding the Jammy awards. I find it funny that they refer to these bands as "unconventional" I guess actually being able to play your instrument well and having the talent to improvise makes musicians unconventional these days.. I'm torn between being glad that a lot of our favorite bands might start to benefit from mainstream recognition and being upset that it means I'll probably be dealing with more hammer heads at shows in the futre. "Regularly overlooked by radio stations and major record labels, these unconventional musicians survive by creating allegiances with their fans through relentless touring. In an era where it is easier to sell concert tickets than albums, these bands may have the right idea. "

Maybe someone already reported this issue, but when you post to, or, try to read, comments on the fan's photo page, all you see is the poster name. I tried this both at home and work, and zippo CRR

I too get nervous when things start to get banned, like my beloved Howard Stern. I know he's not for everyone, but no need to ban him in all of the Clearchannel markets. Everyone seems worried about the children listening to him, shouldn't children be in school at that hour?

After seeing the 'Bros for so many years and shows, it's always refreshing to hear different songs. I don't want to hear Mtn. Jam every show I go to. Give me something new. Pegasus? High Falls? Les Brers? So many great songs, so few shows. I just love hearing that special music. I f there was one song I could hear all the time it would be 'Post. So many possibilities there and I love the tune. Thinking of Berry today and wishin' I could hear him one more time. Sandy, can you spell " vacation"? spdb

I think its easier to just not read a post by someone than to put more negative energy its way. I am PUMPED for Red Rocks. Its priority #1 for me this summer. If I have to choose, and hopefully I wont have to, I am going to go to the ABB and put off the Dead. but I think I was a good boy this year and will be there for both bands. Really excited to meet the good people from the GB My High School won the Boys 5A state basketball championship, our first title in B ball since 83. really nice group of young men so I am very happy for them.

...Remain alert!.. jim 😀 btw I've been exchanging PM's w/ sandy & they make a lot more sense than his regular posts(no I'm not defending him, well maybe 🙂 ) I got the impression that he was just trying to start a conversation about topics outside the ABB & just didn't do it very good...anyway dude did say he fell on his head back in the day 🙂 I WISH I WAS GOING TO THE BEACON 🙁 :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU LANA!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ROWLAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: ..the world needs more lerts! 😎 ...

I'm going to have to agree with Sandy on that last post, he never did say one thing, one way or the other. I think its just one big misunderstanding, I mean how could it be anything else? This is just a cross-cultural experience where we've stepped outside of our own culture and had an interaction which we deemed "abnormal" or "weird." However, awareness of these differences is the first step toward understanding each other and will be paramount to creating a positive environment where peers can trust each other. Alright I'm full of BS, but I've been writing essays for business school, and I think I'm getting pretty good.
