Last one: anyone mention the New Yorker article this week about the Jammies? HIGHLY complimentary to a couple of ABB-family types, particularly Jammies band leader Warren "I can stop 20 people on a dime without ANYone noticing I did it" Haynes... see y'all...the sun is shining in Peachland today, whatever the weather seems...

Happy Birthday Miss Elf! ...haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet, but got a feeling that just might be taken care of in the upcoming year... (then again, we probably did meet at Oak Mountain in 2002? My apology if I forgot!)

I had the opportunity to hang out a bit with Marley, Emily, & Gary, but I want to talk about Marley and Emily. What a GREAT coupla kids (I get to say that because they're my son's age). All throughout my trip, I met 20-something after 20-something, all from who-knows-where, all drawn to NYC by their talent and the endless possibilities the city offers to those with the drive, talent and ambition. Like those 2. Fine kids, the kind parents are so extra proud of.

A kind brudda sent me 3/19/04. ONCE I am all caught up with shows I already owe some kind folks, I will first burn THEN offer several freebies up, hopefully next week if not sooner. PUGS if you taped this show Thank You. To those who are STILL waiting for what I earlier promised it is on top of my do list, will send this week. ONE more thing, watched the Daily show yesterday and John Stewart had me crying. He named a band "The Republican Attack Machine " in his monoloque, what a great name for a band!

Thanks Gail. BTW, It was great to finally meet you at the Gin Mill. Thanks a bunch for the refrig magnets! Very cool and I scored big points with my kiddies having souvenirs for them. Nice also bumping into Dave Tanner and his family from GA as well as the boys from PA, Art D and Bill P. Sorry I missed so many other people because I didn't show up at the GinMill till 7pm.

Oh goody, back to the fun stuff, how good this music makes us feel. I have not picked up OWO as both Best Buys in my area don't have it. Was with the dear wife when I was looking for it and got a long "How can you possibly buy another live ABB CD, You've got HUNDREDS of the damned things, same songs over and over Yada Yada Yada." I just smile and say "YUP"

One Way Out was a year ago, I think this band is even better after listening to this years Beacon show. I am really excited about seeing the ABB again, they are back baby! The other thing this band does is help keep my youth alive. They were the sound track to my younger years and they are still keeping me young, going back to the lab, gonna turn it up. Feel like a little kid waiting for Red Rocks! Might have to venture to the Northwest to catch the Dead and the ABB together again!

sorry for the serial posts i'm about to make, but hey... rick, thanks, man. weird as it might seem, what you wrote, having followed all the sagas here and elsewhere over the years, actually brought tears to MY eyes. takes a big man to say a big thing, like you just did. i just got back from the beacon, and what you're saying about OWO is just what i'd like to say about the music i heard there. i couldn't say it any better than what you just said. thanks, man. maybe i'll see you somewhere on the road this summer, finally put a smiling face to the name.

Peachheads-I sure could feel it this weekend. Great vibes at the Beacon and at all the pre and post festivities. Came home with many happy memories and no voice. Special thanks to Kid Glove for the very cool anniversary posters. Cool hanging out with those of you who know me as “the other Gail” and meeting many new folks too. Thanks, Gary, for putting the Gin Mill party together. Always a highlight of the weekend. Also want to add that Saturday’s 3/27 show is now in my top ten. Dreams, Stormy Monday and Post in one night plus Woman Across The River really hit my note. Thanks to the best band in the land for another great Beacon run and keep those summer dates coming! To Turtle- Thanks for calling me a "kind girl"-I was afraid people would refer to me as “the magnet chic”. To Bum: Great parsley comparison.

...Remain alert!.. And now for something completely different (to borrow a phrase 🙂 ) For those keeping track, or not 🙂 Marley needs 1 more post in the forum to reach 10,000 Now I'm sure most people don't care, but I for one am impressed that a dude that young is such a hardcore fan & cares enough to post so much.Had the pleasure of meeting him & Emily last Oct. after a Mule show at Chicago's Vic Theatre, quite a couple! I know PeachNutt(Gary) is a proud papa,as well he should be.Anyway I'm sure Marley is embarrassed about this, but I couldn't help giving a shout out to this Supreme Peachhead let's hear it for Marley!!! :fanfare: :fanfare: and not to forget: :birthday: Miss Elf! also: Great post Rick, can't wait to get it from Hittin' The Note (it's in the mail) :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ROWLAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU LANA!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: ..the world needs more lerts! 😎 ...

Rick, as one of the people who has sparred with you frequently on this site, I am glad you enjoy the new album so much! We have had our differences of opinion, but nobody cares more about music than you do. I agree that One Way Out is a fantastic album that will take its place among the other Allman Brothers classics. It was great meeting you at the Jam For Duane, maybe I'll see you at a show this year! 🙂 Thanks for giving this lineup a chance, you won't regret it!
