Well, guest book buddies. The work situation has been pretty crappy for a while and to say my star had fallen since the acqusition of the company I helped build from a start up to a half billion dollar enterprise would be the understatement of the century. The good news is I'm running home @ lunch to pick an offer for a new job that will keep my family in So. Cal. (which is my wife and kids choice) It is actually 5 minutes from my house and gives me the opportunity to build another organization, whci is what I do best. I don't fit into the razor cut, three-piece big corporate world too well anyway, I suffer from terminal honesty, which doesn't fly well with the culture. I never thought I be in the job hunt business @ 53 and really thought I'd retire here but such is life. Anyway this is a fairly risky move, but emotionally it is the right thing to do. I can't stand hanging under the radar and taking what is thrown my way, especially when it would involve uprooting my family when the kids are in High School and happy. So since I can't tell anyone here yet, until I sign the offer I thought I'd tell you good folks for two reasons. Once I'm in my new job I may not be able to spend time here anymore, secondly since I made the decision to do this my work ethic has gone down the toliet and I'd rather be shooting the breeze over here.

Josh is an excellent choice, Rob. It's one thing to relate a set list - it's a real gift to be able to translate that setlist into a vibe that makes the reader feel as if he or she were there.. Congratulations Josh!

It sure is, Stephanie! And, I'm not at school! 😀 I'm still glowing from last night's dTb performance, and I'm still lucky enough to be at the little hippie house in the Carolina woods! More 😀

Thanks for the info Clay. I'll be on the lookout. Also Brent "better" is so...relative. Hard pressed to find better music today. And Brother Leon I'd love to take Popper down to the "snake pit" and let the hoosiers devour him. ------------------------------------------------- "I'm going to move away from here. Charlesinator, there are several live DAC shows from the early 80's that are in circulation with Warren playing every song. A lot of country and a lot of David's signature tunes. But during this time they also did some ABB covers with Warren on vocals, plus he was allowed to really get out front and showcase his young abilities. It's really cool to hear Warren singing One Way Out in 1983.

Josh Chasin is a great writer and we are happy to have him at Hittin' The Note! He is especially good at using creative imagery to describe those indescribable music moments we all love so much 🙂 In our April issue Josh has a wonderful piece where he talks to Derek and Oteil about the new live album One Way Out and gets their perspective on the music. Mucho kudos to Josh! You rock, brother! 🙂

Charlesinator, I'm not sure if you're a Indy Race fan or not but today in the 'News'Paper it was announced that..on the Thurs before the race this year none other than John Popper will be performing a (and I quote) "Harmonica-Driven Concert". Our door is open if you'd like to make the trek. 😎 WARREN HAYNES FOR PRESIDENT!!! 😎

Great post Ron. I love Dickey and I'm glad to see him doing well and anyone who deems themselves a true ABB fan should support what he's doing. The ABB today is a different band. In sound, content, approach, and vibe. Better? That's for every individual to decide. I'm glad we still have an Allman Brothers Band to love. spdb

:beer::angel2::bounce::clapping::dance::dog::fanfare::flower::fly::jump::laugh::koolaid::lol::rainbow::reddancer: :type: Catching up on the posts from when I took off for work yesterday. Also listening to 3-19-04. (Thanks Kind Brother Wayne.) Starting to see what all the fuss is about. Having seen dtb and the Mule before the Beacon dates, I knew Derek and Warren had taken it up a notch. It appears so have the rest of the guys. I'm definately looking forward to catching them somewhere this summer. How 'bout some dates y'all? :thewave: Brother Ron's post is still the cool topic and that's great. I'm glad my comment on what sprang means to me didn't detract from it. Lol! I wholeheartedly concur with Rob and Libby. Ron's parties are great. I've been able to put so many faces to GB friends' names there. I've enjoyed it as much as the concert, although that may be in jeopardy with the way the band is playing now. :crowd: Also on the JFD. Folks, having attended last year, I can attest that it is easily another great offshoot of the brotherhood. Kind of like the current ABB lineup and DB & GS are. Highlights were for me seeing Scott Boyer and Scott Boyer III perform as well as the Skydogs, plus meeting all the great folks new and old like Dick Boyden and Buppalo. Oh yeah catching the dtb the night before in such an informal and intimate setting, it is hard to describe the cool factor. :guitar::guitarist::guitar::guitarist::guitar::guitarist::guitar::guitarist: One last thing that really never ceases to amaze me. Especially with all the talk of the country element leaving the ABB with DB's departure. Is why is that? Although nothing has never really been said about it, Waren Haynes played with David "If That Ain't Country I'll Kiss Your Ass" Allen Coe for like 7 years. How do you do that and never have just a little twang crop up in yo' pickin'? For the life of me I'll never know. The only time I believe I've ever heard Warren play a stock country lick is that one fill in Ramblin' Man. I've often wondered did Warren actually get to play on any DAC recordings? The Ride? There is one tune called Cheap Thrills which has a cool duel slide thing in it. Is it Warren? Anybody know anything about Warren's DAC's tenure? Lana? :yep: Peace and may God bless all y'all. :wink2: ------------------------------------------------- "I'm going to move away from here. You can find me if ya wanna go there." :burnout:
