Yeah, picking up on what Marley was suggesting, my ears hear Warren soloing more than Derek. And picking up on jeffgriffin's earlier post, what's the deal with The Benefit Concert, Vol. 2? Anyone here, like the Kid Glove folks, heard any updates as to when it'll be released? It was originally scheduled for release in May 03, then pushed to October, November, December, February, and then April. But I can't find anything about it. The major vendors just say "unavailable," or in the case of Barnes & Noble, it's scheduled for release in December of 2025. That can't be. So what's the deal? http://music.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?userid=2VOV7ASCDJ&ean=60768465923

I don't think they have a boss/employee type relationship where Warren "lets" Derek solo. That's how the songs are written. I'd say Warren takes at least half the solos anyway. If we counted I bet there are more songs without a solo from Derek than from Warren.

>>>>while we all like Derek, Warren should not let him solo so much and Mr. Haynes should play half the solo's, not just 35 percent like some shows<<<< I'm not too sure about this statement. "Letting" him solo? They do what's best for the song - its not a "who wants to solo more" competition. By the way, we don't like Derek's playing, We love Derek's playing...Where did 35% come from since on most songs they both solo? Warren to Derek: Hey kid, don't solo so much ok? Its my turn! ...geesh.

while we all like Derek, Warren should not let him solo so much and Mr. Haynes should play half the solo's, not just 35 percent like osme shows. And when warren sings it moves me. Otiel get the most improved award for his great singing on Franklin's Tower and for giving the scat rap stuff a rest. Love those ugly tie dies on otiel, allways fun to see his clothing choice.

I am sending a donation to Jimmy Nalls, cause he's bro's with a good buddy of mine. i also love the music of Sea level. Plus it makes me feel good to help a little bit now and then However if they want to raise some real cash the show should be recorded and offered up as a fund raiser. i would pay for a copy of Thursdays show. Duncan are you listening?

Sorry to post off-topic with the good discussion about Warren & Derek going on, but if you have my e-mail address in you address book would you please update your virus definitions and scan your system? An e-mail or two has gone out "from" me to recipients who are also registered at HTW, but I haven't sent any e-mails to these folks and, according to Norton/Symantec, my computers aren't infected. So it's likely that someone here has a virus on their 'puter and the virus is picking senders and recipients at random from this person's address book and sending e-mails on its own. I believe both Norton/Symantec and McAfee offer free trial periods to "try out" their antivirus software, so if you're too cheap to buy antivirus software ($10/year), you can at least scan your system for free and get rid of any viruses currently on your computer. Thanks....now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Just wanted to put in another word for the Jimmy Nalls benefit this Thursday night at 3rd & Lindsley Club in Nashville. There are a multitude of great reasons for helping out Jimmy in his time of need. But, let me put in a word for the music and musicians who'll be there. I was lucky enough to attend the last benefit, and I am the one who benefitted from it. Jimmy Hall (still the best white-boy soul singer on the planet) and Bonnie Bramlett duetted on "A Change Is Gonna Come" backed by Jack Pearson and Lee Roy Parnell on guitars while Chuck Leavall sat in on piano. For just this one song, I would happily pay whatever I could afford to hear it again. Growing up in the buckle of the bible belt, it was as dang near a Pentecostal experience as you'll ever have in a club. This years' line-up promises the same type of possibilities. So, please come and share the fellowship and listen as the possibilities unfold. Then, you'll know the true power of music; healing and restoration. Your attendance and/or donation can do as much for Jimmy as his music has done for you and me.

My two cents on Derek - In the last couple of years he has been white hot! Seems like more and more, I am coming away from shows saying "the kid keeps getting better and better." He's also starting to play more straight lead and has really shinned with his rhythm playing. Watching him pick with all five of his fingers is amazing as well. You can't ask for a better pair of guitarists than Young Trucks and Warren. Speaking of Mr. Haynes, I think Warren being the bandleader is the best thing that could've happened to the band. The ABB has been much more of a "band" than it ever has since the original line up (which is why I think this IS the best lineup since the Fillmore days). Not only is Warren giving Derek room, but I can hear the whole band better these days. Everyone is playing real well off one another. Summer can't get here soon enough. I'm in ABB withdrawal!

with regard to the Good Morning little school girl on the 20th....that song goes down in my concert history of one of the best live songs i've witnessed...EVER. Warren, walking away from the mike...looking all big sexy...turning back and saying "I'll come home with you..." real low...and again...lower....and lower.... ARGH. i need a smoke now too!
