Pam, that sure is a nice picture of Abi. I love those brown eyes. Billy, you have a great time tonight with your buddies. I wish I was having one with you. Now, don't crank that ABB music too loud. Nah, no such thing, is there?

How loud does the ABB play at the Beacon? I want to set my surround sound dvd at the right level. Also, can anyone give me tips on the best place to sit in the Uptown in KC?

Randy: Mara and I enjoyed seeing you again...it was great!! Good to see "Willie Nelson" there as well!! Jimmy tore it up for sure...played some off the wall blues ya simply dont hear every day...and from white folks at that. Just proves one thing, these Southern boys got it in 'em. There is NO WAY...NO WAY child that EC could have done any better playing this stuff than Tim Boykin, or that matter when it is Brents turn later in the year. ...and we still open the car doors for our women!! Later... Rick Tomlinson

Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening last night watching a true brother, Jimmy Hall tear it up with a band of locals in B'ham. Joined by Bro. Rick T. and his beautiful bride, much talk of Duane. Had Makers Mark (2) for the Bro. what gonna' be layin' on Brent's couch and eating the barely edible, black socks (2) for the Bro. what's beating demons. An evening that would have never happened had Duane made some different choices way back when. EAPFP

Lamdog...I concur. Mike Kach is really good on that Dickey Instant Live, both on piano & organ. Not sure where he found him, but what a pickup. Tim

Scotty, I sent those Warren wedding disks to your office, they should get there today. Don't know if they do the mail on Saturday at work, but you might want to check.

Since Scotty and Lana brought up new music, I have to throw in my $.02. Check out The Current at "www.thecurrentband.com". These guys will be Dino day participants at mi casa and we'll be hitting their show on the Santa Monica pier tonight to cap things off. This is the same band that I was pushing on a lot of ya in NY. Met the kids at a Vegas ABB show a few years ago and they are huge Peachheads. Check out their cover of Jessica on their site. Awesome musicians and even better peeps. Check em out, cause they'll be coming to an arena near you soon enough.

That DB&GS show JNB is talking about is excellent! Sonically and performance-wise. Excellent arrangement of Little Martha which I hope stays on the list. Needs a little bit of road time to smooth out the edges but I really enjoy it. The version of Southbound is very good as well. Reminds me alot of the B&S version. It's a bit quicker than he has been playing it the past few years. The keyboard player, Mike Kach is all over this one. He has really come into his own with the new five man line-up. He definetly has a style of his own but really gives a Chuck L. feel to ABB tunes from the Chuck era. I highly recommend picking up this show. Great Southern has gone through many personell changes since 2000, my guess is some of them have been due to economics...these guys are not playing huge venues. Anyway, I think this line-up may be my favorite. They are much tighter. Dangerous Dan deserves a listen if you have not heard him in awhile. His style is MUCH different these days. Anyway...pick this one up! 🙂 BTW...if I'm reading things correctly, it's not Dino's Bday...it's just...welll..."Dino Day". :looney:

Hey there sweet family, Scotty, I checked Donavon out and, sisters, he's a hottie - a surfer as well as musician. The song samples on his site are just as Scotty described them ... not about to harsh your mellow :rainbow: I totally enjoy when we share new music with each other. Reminds me of "back in the day" in college when friends would drop by the apt., or Rick and I would go to see them, with new tunes in hand. The recommendation always came from a trusted source and it was fun to share the vibe. So, thank you, Scotty! And don't forget to check out Gavin DeGraw too 🙂 Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Saw Donavan Frankenwreiter (www.donavonf.com) last night at the troubadour and it was pretty darn good. I didn't expect this type of music out of Donavon. I relieze no one has a clue who I'm talking about but hopefully that will change cause he's playing bonaroo opening for jack johnson and G love around the country and hopefully a gig in your town. I know none of these are bands we discuss here but I would liken it to a great mellow soundtrack. "Nice and perty" in the prettier new earth mud relm. Gotta take the mushroom express out cause the mushroom express is going for a ride. peace and love---scotty PS. Remember to stretch for DINO DAY!!!
