Good morning all! First-any posts by me in the last 3 days have been that rascal, Big Mike, who is leavung rainy Denver today for sunny Florida. Tommy, we had a blast!(Good luck on the album!) Kept busy every day with fun things-yesterday Warren appeared in the local indie record(?) store, Twist and Shout, and played 4 live songs (capped by Soulshine) and then signed cd's and posters. We were able to stand about 10 feet away as he played-wonderful, just wonderful (I know there could be a few jealous people like Leah!). This came the day after the second Warren/Dead show at Red Rocks which, as BigMike said, rocked(especially when compared with the first night)!
It was a great, fun filled preamble to
July when the Brothers are here and when Big Mike will be back with a lady friend!!!! See you then.
Good morning everybody! Happy Birthday Mitch. Somebody mentioned Goliath's b-day. Don't tell me I missed that.
Hey almostbrotherband.com two problems I'm seeing both have to do with copyright infringement. First stop me if I'm wrong, but The Almost Brothers Band consisted of Reddog and the rest of the ABB road crew circa 1973-75. I don't know if they copyrighted the name, but that was pretty well documented in Midnight Riders as well as Road Tails. Second, to sell copyrighted product i.e. ABB tunes even if for charity one must obtain permission. Legal fees alone would in all likely be more than any profit.
Don't mean to harsh your buzz. Sometime a good dose of reality does that. I'm sure you have the utmost in good intentions, but last time I checked that's what they are paving the road to hell with. Peace.

Happy Father's Day to all the Big Daddy's on this site!!
Hey it might be a fog but at those cali shows Brent Lana and a few others mentioned I remember Dickey playin' Back where it All began with the band.
Terri B I love your guts!

Mitch...either way it looks like you will be getting a nice guitar. :guitarist:
Bring it out to the jam in August. 🙂
Hopefully I will finally get to see Pnutts telecaster too! 😀

Jim, I'll be on that Radiators NYC cruise. I going to the early show and late show. Can't wait ! The last time they did a cruise was 2 years ago. I swear I thought I was on a pirate ship. It was great, the captain would rock the boat when the rads would be in sick jam and all the dancers would shift back and forth from starboard (sp?) to port ! What a great time they are to see live. Looking forward to seeing Gregg on their new DVD !
That show was amazing. We had a great crew of friends going nuts. We took a girl who was the long time girl friend of a buddy of ours who was killed on 9/11. It was 2002 and she still wasn't herself. During a 20 minute River Run insane jam . She threw her hand bag on the deck and started boogying like dervish. We knew she was going to be alright.
Anyone else think Dave Malone and Camille Beudoin are the two most underated guitarists in Rock and Roll ?
If we get a nice product, perhaps charging a few bucks - which would be donated to a charity - would be appropriate. Wouldn't that be cool? Five bucks each? Sell a hundred? Then 250 each to maybe the Savannah Woody foundation and Hep C research/awareness?
Hi Gang,
I was wondering what if.......
I know that there are many musicians on this site, that more than likely play ABB songs with their respective bands.
My idea is this....we all submit recordings, and compile them into our very own "tribute" CD, Download, whatever,... to be passed around (for free) to anyone that wanted it (as members of this site).
I'd like to kick it off, and claim "Jessica", that my band, The Allmost Brothers Band, will contribute.
I think that this would be really cool! Any thoughts? Peace, Tom

Hey there sweet family,
Brent, one of the sweetest things about the California shows was that the ABB came back to play Little Martha as a late second encore acoustically every night as folks were shuffling dazed and happily off into the stars ... you would have loved it.
Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana
BigDave, the Rads do kick it. Just got my tickets to the NYC Blues Cruise. Nothing like cruising around NYC with the Rads rocking. I am dying to get myself a copy of the Rads vs Earth. i think it may even be in stores now. I'm going to go check today.
Thanks EddieP, that cleared things up a little 🙂
Happy Birthday to Mitch and Goliath.
Saw Warren Haynes last night at the Twist and Shout (the local great record store). He was promoting Bonaroo and did 4 acoustic songs (In My Life, And It Stoned Me, Wasting Time and Soulshine). Real good stuff from just 10 feet away. Warren is definitely loved by the people.
Well, this raps up my first Red Rocks adventure. Next up, the Allman Brothers here July 9 and 10. Looking forward to meeting some GB folks out here. Oldcoot, did you say you were going?
Hey Rockymtnjam, looking forward to meeting you Saturday. I usually don't plan my wardrobe this far in advance, but I'll go ahead and go with my trusty Grateful Dead tie dye, just to be different. Me and Nicole are right behind you in the center section on the 4th row, seats 19 and 20.
Also hoping to mooch a burger and a cold one off of Fast43 in the parking lot beforehand, if I can find him...hint hint.
Man, I'm pumped! Dickey hasn't played in the Bluegrass State since the Allmans did two nights at the Palace in '99, almost five years ago to the day. Entirely too long.
Hope everyone is having a good Friday!
Mitch :birthday: hope you go for the 335....and one day we get around to some jammin! party hardy!!
Pray for Paul Johnson (NJ)
Oh....those shows! i heard that the ghost of duane was cleary seen playing his slide on stage during at least two of those cali shows....

Thanks Harvey. How could I forget that.
Light.
Ya'll have a good one.
Yeah Billy, and when Dickey came on for the Jessica encore . . . . .
Yep Brent:

Next nite E.C, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page jam with band on Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad > Mt Jam> You Don't Love Me> Mt Jam> Whipping Post.
hey, i posted this in the forum but had to share another Cosmic ABB experience...
I saw "Big Fish" last night finally....great movie...
oddly enough, and a sign of the true ABB Karma we have here....i get a phone call from ABB Cujo (who i met in the ABB forum) right when they start to play "RAMBLIN MAN". sorta freaked me out. (it was a rental so its not like he was watching too).
the cosmic ju-ju runs strong. i guess anything stands up to scrutiny when you look at coincidences; but for some reason the ABB ones spook me anymore. you'd think i'd be used to it by now...
anyway, great movie, one of the better ones i've rented and in typical girl style i cried all through the end...
