Hmmm, it says on the Irving Plaza website Dickey Betts w/special guests, who could it be? Is Warren on the road right now with one of the umpteen bands he plays with?

Hey now Ryan - I've been a Braves season ticket holder for 23 years and my seats are on the aisle, right behind the owner's box, no more than 30 feet from the Braves on-deck batter's circle. Walter Banks is the VIP usher and has the most seniority of any Braves employee. So the number I picked was 39 -- the number of years Walter has been a baseball usher. Walter has an amazing encyclopedic memory of sporting events and trivia. He has been doing the "pick a number" trick ever since I've known him, but this is the first year the Braves have been featuring his talent on the big screen between innings. I've taken Colonel Bruce to a few Braves games and he and Walter hit it off famously. The two of them have spent many innings trading baseball lore. Bruce is the kind of guy that not only knows the pitcher who threw the pitch Hank Aaron hit to break Ruth's record, but the catcher as well. And the starting lineup of both teams that day. And the time of day the game started. And the temperature at game time. You get the idea ... One of the games I took Bruce to was a World Series game in 1996, the last game ever played at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. He and I were interviewed live during the national pre-game feed and Bruce horrified the interviewer when he started talking about his uncle who was buried under second base ... Anyway, Walter is a true gentleman and is highly respected by all those who know him. It is very fitting to see him get some recognition. This game, however, was the first in all my years as a season ticket holder that I participated in a between innings feature. As this was father's day weekend I was especially thrilled to be at the ballpark with my kids and have them up on the big screen. It was a night they will remember forever. Unfortunately, it was the same evening as the LRP show in Winder -- but I wouldn't have missed this night with my kids for anything. The Braves won, too!

Anyone who has gone to see Dickey on this tour have any idea what time he has been starting his shows? Was thinking about going to catch him tonight, but have something going on until about 10.

Anyone heard if these Atlanta shows will have an opener or if they'll be "An Evening With"? I don't think Los Lonely Boys, New Earth Mud, Mule or dTb are scheduled those dates.

LinnieXX, He did not, but he did have a certain look in his eyes. I am pretty sure he either a) had a Donna Hopkins song in his head or b) was thinking about the next Donna Hopkins show he is going to. Wait thats wrong, we all know he was thinking about Donna playing an Allman Brothers tune! 😉 That reminds me of a few summer ago when I was unemployed. All I really did was look for a job in the morning and then go fishing all day. My friends and I were trying to come up with my ideal job. We decided I needed to have a fishing show that incorporated the Allman Brothers (they think this is what I think about most the time). It was going to be called "The Bass Wrangler" and a segment would go something like this: Fade to me fishing just having missed landing a lunker of a bass- I say "well I missed that one but I'll tell you what I didn't miss, the Allman Brothers Band September 4, 1999 Lakewood Ampitheater!" Here's a taste." Cue video of one of the best Dreams I have ever heard. Ya'll get the idea, kind of a best of bass fishing/best of Allman Brothers thing. Good lord, what if I could make a living doing this?! Ryan

First off, thoughts and prayers for the wavrnr family. Thanks to your son for his brave service. Secondly I had a funny guestbook moment the other day. I was at the Braves-Indians game on Saturday night. At every game between one of the innings they grab a fan out of the crowd and have them pick a number to tell to one of the long time stadium ushers. This guy has an amazing ability to connect this number with Braves history, sports history, US history, and so on. Anyway I look up at the scoreboard and who is the fan (out of a crowd of 42,000)? None other than Ron (Hophead) Currens and his lovely family! I started laughing and turn to my girlfriend (Cheryl) "holy sh*t, I know that guy!" "Really, how?" "Through the Allman Brothers and the guestbook, of course!" Pretty funny. Good to see you Ron. Take care, Ryan

Hey there sweet family, Oh my yessss, our warmest wishes and positive vibes to Wavrnr's son as he leaves for Iraq and during his stay there. Please send us his address once he's there so we can send his company some goodies to let them know we support them. We feel so blessed that my brother Patrick and all the 724 company made it home safely after spending over a year there. (goose bumps of praise and joy) Thank you all who supported Patrick, especially Jody who he can't wait to bear hug some day! Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Hi Barb! girl, we missed ya'll saturday night! Yes, the Potters are the best.....All of the fine GABBA folks are...What a vision...Atlanta is such a great city to visit....We found a great little Cajun Creole Soul Kitchen on the outskirts of the city, filled with beautiful people stopping for lunch and some sweet soul vibe....Chihuly in the garden..Atlanta's Botantical Garden is boasting a fantastic glass artisan's lifes work and is brimming with beautiful objects d'art..I believe the exhibit may run right through september..Forget gazing globes, these glass sculptures are incredble. I hear tell the gardens and glass art show is even more beautiful viewed under the stars and sparkling evening lights....As we drove by the Fabulous Fox Theatre, we switched from cds to radio, and how appropriate it was to hear Gregg's exotic vocals calling to us , singing about When A Man Loves A Woman....We just couldnt have asked for a more beautiful weekend...Thank you my sweet, hardworking Kevin...Every woman should be so lucky. Rick, great post..I need "how to" help purchasing tix as well....Barb, can we assume the shows will not coflict with GABBA festivities in any way? Most importantly..Wavrnr...your son is in our hearts and prayers as are all the Troops..Freedom is theirs....Ca

I know that Lana is planning a pre-sale for Atlanta, and for someone who has never utilized that service. How would be the best way to respond to a pre-sale announcement? If that does not work, any suggestions on how best to cop a ticket through Ticketbastard? Is the internet a good way, or is it better to call them at 10AM the day of the sale, or any other suggestions from you "experienced" quick ticket getters????? Please post or email your suggestions. Thanks!!!! Rick Tomlinson
