Hey My name is Abbey Thompson. I am a journalist/Archaeologist. For more info about me, a photo, etc, visit: www.redwebz.org. Click the 'Natives To Notice' category, I'm among Sacajawea and Tecumseh. Go figure... hahahahah You can also find my entire collection of articles in the Indian Country Today website, just go in there and type my name in the SEARCH box. www.indiancountry.com I write for 12 newspapers in the midwest and nationally, 2 of which are national publications. I also write for Native Peoples magazine www.nativepeoples.com, which is published by the Heard Museum in Phoenix. I have written about many issues and causes. My latest article in my series about musicians is on the Los Lonely Boys official website: http://www.loslonelyboys.org/subset_media.html [Go to the press part, into the 'Indian Country Today' headline, which is sandwiched between the USA Today and the Variety Review articles...] I would like to interview the band when they play in Appleton, WI on July 17th. I think it would be great for the band to reach an alternative media source. If anyone has a suggestion about how to reach the Press Coordinator/Publicist/whatever for the band, let me know. I have loved the Allman Brothers since I can remember being alive (I am 35 years old...) I have seen the band about 18 times, and I would like to spread the word about their music and current undertakings. and a big HIGH to all the Wusters/Wuheads out there-it's been a long time since those Minneapolis shows. always a fan, Abbey

Hey there sweet family, Just back from the NHL draft. Was there almost all of yesterday, and a few hours today. What a great experience! My favorite draft pick was the MN Wild selecting a home state guy A. J. Thelen, from Savage, MN, who plays college hockey at Michigan State ... it just seemed so altruistic 🙂 Billy, we're delighted to share anything Bill writes. He's our resident artist 🙂 Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Seems like there must be quite a few shows that haven't been announced yet, maybe? I've always enjoyed seeing the Brothers at Darien Lake, Ny. It's great to be able to see a show then just stumble back to the campground for some partying before passing out. Anyone have any insights to a possible show at Darien this year???????

Joe thought about the same thing when I saw Dickey at Lake Martin 2 weeks ago. Not only the slide but the smooth heavy jamming and holding of notes of my Fav In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. I never saw Duane but the 5 man band was my first. Maybe that is the reason I am a Dickey Freak. na Liz Reed, Jessica, Blue Sky, High Falls.

Someone on the forum asked about the sound quality of the 3rd Archive Release, Macon 2-11-72. Here's how I responded: The Macon release is soundboard, 7.5" IPS, 1/4"stereo reel to reel. IMHO, start to finish, it is probably our best sounding archive recording so far... Still, it is a 32 year year old analog tape... What is somewhat eerie to me is that it starts off with Dickey Betts playing slide on Statesboro Blues, which is what Dickey kicked off his show with just a few weeks ago - when I saw him at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. When I heard Dickey do that - I was immediately transported back to 1972 and missing Duane all over again. Tal about Deja vu! JNB

Whoa! BigWindy makin' a rare appearance! Nice to see you, man. 😀 I wanted to send out big thanks to my own little Guest Book guardian angel for scoring me and Nicole a choice pair of tickets for the Sunday night Fox Theater show, 'cause I was away from the computer for both the pre-sale and the regular sale. Much obliged, brother! Can't wait to everyone in Hot 'Lanta.

Marsha was a busy girl while I was at work today. She got us 4th row seats for the ABB at Syracuse for August 27th, and darn good seats for Dickey at Turning Stone on August 4th. Yippee! I hope all will have a ball at the Fox Theatre shows-I know you will. I'm seeing Matt Barranti in a couple hours, and I bet my stepson Brian sits in for a couple tunes. Best wishes to all for a good weekend.
