Congratulations to Stephanie (enigmajean) and John (AIQ) on their wedding day! All the best to you two! :fanfare: Congratulations also to Big Rich and wife-to-be on their wedding, as well. Just in from the second of two nights seeing, hearing, and *feeling* the Derek Trucks Band! Wow! If it's possible, these five guys are getting better and better. Thursday night's show in Norfolk had more of a blues/R&B/funk groove to it--only one instrumental all night, and no Latin-flavored or middle eastern-flavored songs. Tonight here in RVA brought some of those other flavors back into the mix, and then took it up a notch! I thought the Canal Club might elevate and levitate towards the end of *the* most intense "Volunteered Slavery" I've ever heard! Even Mike Mattison was moving around during it; Derek almost danced! Whew, what a show! It was great to spend both nights in the company of wonderful Guest Book friends; it just made the music even better, for me!

I know a lot of people here are complaining about the takeover of a popular radio station in atlanta that is partial to the ABB. Although I live in Phila. my friends and I have sent many negative e mails to the station. If you have the time, just go to z93.com and post an e mail. The station comes up Dave fm. That should tell you right there what kind of garbage it is.

Dear friends on the guestbook, I would estimate that we will sell out of the 2003 ABB Instant Live six packs this weekend, if we are not already. I'll do a count of outstanding orders tomorrow and post an update. In terms of individual shows available - Hartford and Pittsburg are sold out. We have several hundred of Indy, Darien Lake, Charlotte and Raleigh left. For those that have already ordered but not yet received their package - many hundreds went out in the last few days... THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BEST LIVE BAND IN AMERICA!!! JNB

Think about it, after a bogus post, what could be more uplifting than promoting the Darien Lake show! :burnout:

Ok, my post to forum was not effective. I suppose those who plan on going to darien lake show are going, I know it was on the tour list, then removed, then posted again, sans tix sales, peeps made plans for labor day, or are seeing them at NYS FAIR, or other. This will really stink if they have to cancel(and that's life) but PLEASE buy a ticket, I'm sure many of you are waiting until the last minute, but there are great reserved left, and, well.just think of the possibilities!! groveling here so, I make no excuses, please come to DARIEN LAKE SHOW!!!!!!!!!! IN PEACE, MIKE. :whip:

A nice review for Derek Trucks Band at the Georgia Theatre from jambands.com below. Incidentally, it certainly is getting weird around here. Those dog days of summer have people very whacky. http://www.jambands.com/CDReviews/content_2004_07_29.23.phtml

Hope everyone is OK in Guestbook land! I see some sporadic weirdness hits again, Brofan you weirdo magnet!.... Me I'm laying low, these meds have me layed out pretty much, so send some collective energy my way! I'm too tired to even be pissed! Now that is bad! Seriously, I have popped in and read and the posts have been great and keep me in check with reality. Also, I read in the Forum of some potential questionable "news" here and I hope that is false on one hand, on the other it would be good. All I can comment is a recent Philzone fiasco where everyone was taken on a long complicated ride, involving flowers, money, and a ton of emotion. It involved a partial living liver donor thing, then cancer, then expose... it was high drama. Bottom line, know your friends! To those in need, good vibes yer way!
