I was away for a few days, and just got back. Have some catching up to do. Vacation was great. Thyanks to ClayPelland for the disc of the Gaelic Park show, which was my first ABB show.player on my ride back to work. It should ease the transition back. Hope all our Florida Brothers and Sisters are okay. We have so many GB friends in SW Florida, and we wish them the best at this time. Mitch

Still haven't been able to get through to my sister-in-law who lives in Cape Coral, a seaward suburb of Ft.Meyers. I know she is OK as I received part of a cell phone message last night, but it is a helpless feeling to know there isn't a damned thing you can do. Prayers to all affected by this storm. An interesting point of this mess. Meterologists have been saying for months that the water is still 6-8 degrees warmer in the Gulf than normal and that this could be a really bad hurricane season, but they are suprised that the storm intensified as it came through the Straights of Florida. Go figure.

A thought on the LLB subject...they are gaining popularity in many different circles and fast. You can see them on MTV, VH1, and the Country Music Channel at any given channel flicking time. I hear their single "heaven" all the time on the radio and on many different stations from rock, to country, to the top 40 to the bubble gum stations, and the lite hits stations. I think they are just in high demand right now and I believe the exaustion is real. They are being poked at from all sides and that is sure something that will tire you out, so why it may not be all physical exaustion, they could just be exausted from all the poking, if that makes any sense. Just my thoughts on the subject.

On the LLB,they are selling their own headlining dates at various west coast venues starting today,so one should take their "exhaustion" for what its worth. If I was a huge fan,I'd be happier to see them headline than warm up,so its probably a good thing for their fans.

Random Music Thoughts: Something must be up with Los Lonely Boys for them to cancel their entire tour. I don't buy that exhaustion thing. They are never going to be as popular as they are right now and they should be out touring. Had a great week for music. Got to see Walter Trout at the Wilmington, Delaware Blues Fest on Sunday. I have been waiting for awhile for him to come this way. He can really jam and was extremely gracious afterwards. He signed autographs for at least an hour afterwards. Bobby Rush was on afterwards and I really enjoyed his performance also. Came across much better in person, then he did on the PBS blues special. On Monday, I got to see Joe Bonamassa for free. First time seeing him and was blown away. He also was very nice and stayed and signed autographs. He did If Heartaches were Nickels, which Gregg sings on on the cd. Last night, got to see Delbert McClinton from the first row of the Zoellner Auditorium on Lehigh University. Another great show. He said he got a request to do Dreams To Remember. Wonder if a Warren fan requested that! Guess I now have to wait until Mule's Philly show for my next music experience. Doesn't look like I'm going to get the Allmans this summer. Is anyone else still waiting for their Instant Live cds. I am.

Hey GB. man I just got back from the Dead at Jones Beach and what a great show. Very interesting to see Warren playing with these guys but I gotta say he is great with the Dead. He has definately has added a new rinkle into the Dead. Great stuff. Man I was totally knocked out when the Dead did a cover of Nothing Else Matters from Metallica. Bobby and Warren playing the acoustic and electric togther jamming slowly into the first couple of riffs and people were like "no they are not going there" I could not believe it either. Many veteran Deadheads thinks this was the sign of the apocolypse but honestly it was amazing!!! They really did it in such a Grateful dead fashion that it really was unique. Metallica never sounded so good.LOL!!! Anyway I realize this was a Dead review on the ABB GB but I know lots of y'all would be interested. Anyway have a good weekend extended family. Peace!!!

Time to pack for the trip to Tybee (Savannah) now. It was a great feeling to know that Charley missed us here today in Tampa. Now we are going to head up to our beach house at Tybee to close it up in preparation for the second coming of Charley.
