Not much left in me after the 2 hour ride home. Workman-like, but song oriented for the crowd. Sound from my seats was fair, needed a little more bite from D & W's axes. Key to the Highway and Post were my highlights. Drums were too long, just my two cents. Cut'm back a little and throw in an Afro Blue or Les Bres. OWO>SB>Post were a strong triplet. Gregg was very appreciate and it was cool to see him come out front for Melissa, a first in person for me. See you in Rockford. Come say hi to Matthew and I. lutton20, No chance of a high quality video from the origional lineup. There are some very poor quality DVD's that come up on ebay all the time. I bought one and it was worth the 30.00 to me just to see Duane and Berry. The audio sucks and the video is terrible. Just the same it's great to get it out once in awhile to see the origional band.

Wow ::smiles:: Thats it ...thats all I have to say in regard to how everyone rallied in defense of the comment made against Dickey. It did my heart good to see that.

Man bites dog story (true): When our county first went wet in 1973, there wasn't much social interaction among races, because there wasn't many common meeting areas, and that's the way it had always been. So an African-American friend of mine (huge guy, 3-time Golden Glove champ) goes to our nicest restaurant and sits down at the new bar. Total silence, everyone watching. Bartender, large Latino, comes over, says in a loud voice, "We don't serve n*****s." My friend replies, in an equally loud voice, "Well, I really didn't have an appetite for one anyway. Do you serve steaks?" Stunned bartender says, "Oh, yes sir!" My friend says, "Well I'll have a steak. Might try a n****r next time." He never spent a penny that night. Patrons bought his meal and his drinks, and from then on, nobody has given a damn about who eats where. EAPFP

Does anyone have quality footage of the original ABB on video ?? I have 4 songs from one of the fillmore shows . My friend found on the internet . I get to see Duane , Berry forever . I'm new to the sight & love the ABB . I seen the 90's incarnation 5 times . I was raised on the original ABB and had their 1st album as a kid in 1971 . Can anyone give me some info on video footage ?? Also , will the ABB ever release a high quality dvd from the original ABB era . It would be awesome for everyone to watch and listen to Duane & Berry and all on a high quality visual release . I'm new to the sight and will check in a lot - This is an impressive sight !!

BTW Des, if you took your screen name from the ABB song, your spelling REALLY sucks. It's Desdemona.

Desdamona: Dickey does NOT suck. But then again, you probably think Elvis sucks or the Beatles suck. How old are you? 19? Twenty something? Is Dickey missed? Well, certain elements of Dickey are, without question. Believe me, most ABB fans miss some parts of Dickey, politics or no. I appreciate your elation for Warren and Derek, and for Greggs good looks, but not at the expense of throwing the baby out with the bath water. Rick Tomlinson

Hey Desdemona, Have you heard any of Dickeys' shows this summer? He is ripping it up. I have seen both Dickey and the ABB this summer. All were good shows. I'm about fed up with the small group of people that have come here lately and run down any band that Derek or Warren don't play in. I just don't understand it.

Primus sucks. Hey, they're the ones that say it...Dickey's a legend, an American icon and musical treasure. Saying that Dickey sucks (no jokes this time)is just ignorant. That's like saying Duane sucked. Dickey's happy in his band, the Bros are happy with Warren and Derek, life goes on. Lammie--I think it's very admirable of you not to bite the pooch. Horace EAPFP

Desdamona "Dickey sucked... he is not missed." Those are harsh words. I am offended by what you say.

N.Y. State fair ROCKED !!! EVERYTIME I hear Gregg I thank god that he's doing well and looking hot , my summers would be nothing w/out the one show I go to a year. He's an AWESOME guy . Dickey is not missed ...he sucks ABB sounds much better w/out him. Sometimes I miss ramblin' man but have you heard the power in Greggs voice ? and don't you hear all them guys just lovin it ? If you sit close enough they look right at you and smile or wink or just close their eyes and jam. But if you are into it majorly and one of them like Warren or Dereck or even Gregg look at you they feel you feel them, they do interact... Makes those "Cold Winter Days" a little warmer So when those days do come put on A ABB CD and know that Soulshine is better than sunshine . A bunch of Guys who do care ... Take Care -A fellow Allman- (seriously)

Hey there sweet family, Jody Raffoul has just been announced as the opener for the ABB On the Waterfront. There's a link to his web site on 9/2 on Tour Dates. Wish I were in Minny tonight - first ABB show I've missed back "home" in ages. Oh well, we'll be in our adopted home of Pittsburgh/Ellwood City this weekend celebrating Ms. Donna's birthday Saturday and rejoicing being back with the ABB family Sunday. Can't wait to see y'all! :flower2: Take care and know that you are loved, Lana
