The following was posted on this site by "Desdamona". Seems as though there are multiple personalities here, one being an internet troll. Re: Gregg Allman's Search for Simplicity Has Found a Home (Score: 1) by Desdamona on Aug 28, 2004 - 11:30 PM (User info | Send a Message) http://http:// I think it's good that Gregg is Good . He sounds awesome , looks great and I look forward to seeing him once a year. I'm glad he's clean and well. But I wonder if alot of people know hes clean cuz everyone is looking or asking for something(s) at the shows. He's an awesome guy and he has had a hard road, but he made it , now I look forward to hearing him sing another 10 + years. Keep up the good work. Love A fellow "ALLMAN" SERIOUSLY!!!! CHRISTINA MARIE "Desdamona" or Christina Marie, what radio station interviewed Dickey, and what was the date? I'd like to get a copy of that.

Desdamona - Gotta wade in on this one. Sucks is the wrong term. Disssatisfied and disconnected is more what I saw in late 90's. I saw Dickey throw down his guitar and walk off stage. Just flat out unhappy. The situation sucked, but even then, when he was connected he still brung it with the best. I'm with ya on the Gregg fan thing, I'm solidly in that camp except that I still think Pattern Disruptive was the best solo effort by anyone anyone in the band, even though Laid Back is one of my all time Favorties. I also think Highway Call was maybe the worst. I love the more edgy and bluesrock stuff they are doing now. But saying he sucks --well that sucks!

Desdamona, your entitled to your opinions but they are just that. Have you ever met Dickey? I serious doubt it so all those personal comments you make are not worth a whole lot. If you don't like his playing fine with me, you have the right to say what you want but unless you KNOW it first hand it is probably not yours or anybody elses business

You can say what you want Mr 'Demona but you just need to do it withn a little maturity and respect. You're not gonna find many people here that won't agree with you that the ABB is a better band today than when Dickey left - they are. The band is certainly on a musical and creative peak right now...but when you say someone that played in the band for 30 years "sucks" well thats just plain wrong. How about just saying "Wow what a show I saw, The Brothers have NEVER sounded better!...Give a review on what you liked - like most of us do and leave it at that. That way we could have all joined the discussion with you and added our kudos and praise about the band too.... Be nice, Please.... Later Peeps...

Hey now Desdamona - You may live in America and you certainly have a right to express your opinion, but to do so here and in the manner you chose is RUDE. Aren't you from the South? Didn't your mama teach you some manners? I also love this version of the ABB, but I don't feel a need to slam Dickey Betts. Instead I admire him and wish him the best in his life.

Dickey Sucks???.....I do not post much but a comment like this really irritates me......How can someone make a statement like this....I wonder if the person making this statement is a graduate of some musical school such as Julliard or plays the guitar as well as SRV or Hendrix or someone in that category....I am listening to this ledgend playing as I write....Being a musician, a guitar player....I am still amazed at some of the things that I hear this man do with a guitar...Dickey and Duane have been the biggest influence on my musical life and career....if I had to pick two players that I would like most to emulate these are the two.....these giants made the ABB sound along with Greggs great voice....Dickey held that sound together when brother Duane passed....making a statement like Dickey sucks and he is not missed is like saying Duane sucks and he is not missed....and how wrong would that statement be!.......these greats went together hand in hand.....and until I can play their licks as well as they can.....they will never suck...even on their worst night....

Desdamona is my real name And It's spelled the same way it was the day I was born. For all you Dickey fans maybe you sould go to his website and tell him how "good " he is but at the moment you are Hittin the web with ABB is Dickey part of ABB um no. Let me just say that about 2 weeks ago Dickey was on the radio in my town talkin' ***** about Gregg , I will always defend Gregg he's an Allman and so am I . Dickey is a wife beater ( you can read about it) and yes he is talented but his attitude sucks. Come on he's in his 50's still talking ***** about my man Gregg and he insists that hes right Gregg was wrong. Dickey posted a note to his fans when he was fired and in this note he said that Gregg told him to listen to the f'n tapes ...they sounded like *****. Meaning they SUCKED !!!! sorry you faithful Dickey fans, truth hurts I dont think he sucks as a guitar player but as a person, Hittin the note is an awesome CD , concerts are always awesome and most of all, the guys in ABB have class , Dickey doesn't have that. He's got nothing better to do than talk *****? And to whoever said I just got a pc and don't know what I'm talking about ask me a question , anything and I will answer it correctly. Thats a promise... I understand I dished it out and now I will take it. Please know I'm not a mean person but I am a very faithful ABB fan and Dickey did someone wrong, he did ABB wrong, he's gone and nothings gonna bring him back to ABB ever... Thank God. Also I can say whatever I want about Dickey I LIVE IN AMERICA, ABB sounds better without Dickey. Warren and Derek do what Dickey could not do. ABB had their VICTORY DANCE the Day they got rid of him . "Past is gone don't look back" They just didn't need him anymore. He wasn't worth it , Any complaints about their shows ? they were good shows correct ? Thats what I thought ! Changed for the better , no doubt , Keep on rocking ABB !!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD DAY

RedDog, I don't know if you remember when they played in Louisville, Ky in 1976 the night before the Kentucky Derby. It wasn't one of the better shows that I've seen, it had some bad moments but it didn't suck. There's no way it could suck. It also had a few highlights. The one I still remember was Greggs' solo in Elizabeth Reed. He jumped up off his seat and just laid on that keyboard. It was still better than most things going on at the time.

Red Dog, I believe Lee was simply referring to Butch's post a while back where he basically said he disdains the term 'drum solo' as it relates to his band....considering there are 3 cats up there playing their A$$es off. Maybe we could call it a drum trio?! Enjoy your day, RD. 😎 'Leavin soon for the Windy City!! :mohawk:

It is one thing to say I like this song or that song. Or, this version of the band, or that version of the band is better. Even then, one has to be careful here on this guest book. People will fire on you for an opinion. Which, is funny sometimes, because we all have them? Now, you take the lick that Des. laid down. You know that was asking for trouble. Even I, the person that says thing that people seem to take the wrong way, know this was not the way to say that. (They did not like the way Dickey played.) Saying he sucked, was not even a true statement. On his worst night he never SUCKED. Might have played bad, but not sucking. Matter of fact, I have never heard any of the band members past, and present. Play to where they sucked. This band has, and has had, some of the best musician in the world in it. My opinion. KC. Yes, I did say that Marc over plays and I did say he plays to loud at times. That is the lick, At times. I never said the man was not a kick ass percussionist. Drummer, a little weak with the foot. At least this is the way it was when I was there. Things do change, and I am no longer there. I go by what tapes I hear. It still sounds like that to me. Still the man is in a league by himself, in the percussion department. KC. I hope you did not take this the wrong way as I was just clarifying the difference in my post. Back then and now. Lee not saying this in a sarcastic way but what do you call it if its not a drum solo. What ever it is that you call it, might be a good lick, and a way to refer to a drum solo. Lay it on me please. I am always looking for new licks.

Hey all: Well, time is getting closer and closer to the Jam for Duane, and man, I for one just count the days! Posting here, I simcerely hope that some of you plan to travel down to Sweet Home Alabama and witness a HISTORIC show. Randy and Brent have really worked hard this year to make the show special, and I feel this year is one where you will look back in future years and can say "I was there"....that kind of music situation does not happen often these days in the land of big business and big money. So please give the jam serious consideration and join those fans and music lovers and musicians who plan to come together for the sole purpose of paying respect to Duane Allman. To honor Duane by giving a little time and love and what coins it takes to get to the gigs means you care enough to show the love to Duane. I hope Gregg is made aware of this JFD, as well as his family. I would imagine he would appreciate it. Based on what I have been told, some of the Band members apperciate it. Hope to see you there. Rick Tomlinson

Summer colds Suck. CDs that skip suck. Weak Grass sucks. Hurricanes really suck. Dropping a glass on your tile floor in your kitchen sucks. But Richard Forrest Betts DOES NOT SUCK. 😎 :guitar:
