Hey Charlie!!!!!!!! Thanx for the compliment, yup, I'm a yungin'!!!!!!! Your posts are FAB and you seem fun to hang out with....yes I will get that albu.oooops..I mean DISC (drat)!!!! And double thanx for the Miles info..I never knew that, can't wait to hear it. I'm still lookin' for Hank Jr's version of 'Dreams'. Just for kicks of course!! Gregg's mind is Over-The-Top!!! I also saw G-3 with Malmsteen. Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Great show too. Peace & Love ILABB
ILABB, see I am an expert. I knew you were young didn't I? Hey the ABB probably play One Way Out,but they may do it every other show or every other third show. Since Warren is back in the fold they are trying do sort of like the Dead and make no two shows the same so every show is special for those attending. Kind of a neat concept ain't it? Also pick up that copy of Hittin'theNote. Great "new" rock with a definite southern vibe to it.
Also again I want everybody to know the Molly Hatchet version of Dreams is almost a carbon copy of Buddy Miles' version. Pick up a copy of Buddy's greatest hits. He does three covers of ABB tunes Dreams, Midnight Rider and I forget the other one also killer funk stuff on there too if that be your bag.
And y'all I want to apologize for bringing up the fact that yes I do possess an Yngwie "J." Malmsteen pick. (I'm so glad that Yngwie put that "J" in there to distinguish himself from all the other Yngwie Malmsteens.)
But I got caught up in all the one-up-man-ship going on. Please forgive me. Maybe I can open up the glass case and show y'all it someday.

There's only "One Way Out"!!!! (I know.......another dumb analogy)!!!
I just love it when the kids learn to play nice.
I think I have bent over enough this evening. Time to jump on the Harley and ride. Good Night......
I can't resist..................Holdover, get over to the "Whipping Post"!!! (I know it's dumb)................lol Speaking of Hank Jr., he has a version of 'Dreams', does anyone know where I can get it? Oh no, I hope I don't start anything again.
OK,,,who's next, I started it, so Ill take my whippings!!!!!!!
LOL The next newbie that swings at one of us. We fight like a big family-just let someone else attack us! It doesn't matter which side of any issue you are on-the way you say things is the difference-our form of pc.
Just like Hank Williams Jr did his own version of "Come And Go Blues". Ever hear it? Not the same as Allman Bros but still a tribute none the less.
Marley, I have been posting here for 3 or 4 days now expressing my excitement after seeing ABB last week and all I did was ask for opinions on the 2 versions of 'Dreams' and now I'm gonna have nightmares!! 🙂 They did'nt play 'One Way Out' and I was disappointed, that's all! I don't know the reason. Silly me thought it was the 'One Way Out' Tour 'cause it was the biggest selling T-Shirt! I enjoyed the show, just wish I would have seen them back in the day with the whole band instead of worshipping The Beatles!!! lol Charlesinator, you are a riot!!!! Peace & Love
I think the Molly Hatchet version of Dreams is fine for their band they remade the song in the image of their band it sounded like MH not Allman Brothers. Now the Allman Brothers version of Dreams is the holly grail nobody can do better period. So I like both in a twisted way.
OK,,,who's next, I started it, so Ill take my whippings!!!!!!!
Your absolutely right!!!! And I was with him for only 1 year. And a turbulent one at that. "Kudos"
I've been confronted with the " musician attitude"many times over the years of my checkered career and I've found that most guys with that kind of thinking are still gigging the same bar they've been in for 20 years. It really doesn't surprise me when they come across as so bitter , angry , and opinionated.
I'd say you've been very lucky given your attitude.
My resume and who I am is of no concern because when I'm here I'm just an ABB fan and flaunting yours as if it matters is something that I find somewhat amusing, rather pathetic and quite the ego trip.
Most of it means nothing to me but I would be surprised if you worked for Charlie Daniels very long if at all.
From my experience with him , he'd boot your a** to the curb in 5 seconds if you pulled that "rockstar"stuff and treated his fans the way you have treated some here.
Since you're posting here again, ILABB, you never did answer my question- what were you talking about when you said the ABB couldn't play One Way Out at Rosemont because it wasn't on their tour?
I should say I never was a fan of MH-not a hater either, just didn't stay on my radar screen. I really didn't know there is still a version playing. So I thought I'd check out their website but could not find any. Is there one? I liked "Flirting with disaster", but only thought of it as a radio song. Most of the bands I liked then and now dont bother with radio songs, at least as a primary object.
So holdover if we get away from general insults (address specific people if you have a problem), we would like to hear any good inside info you have from the biz.
Seeing G3 was great. And yes you got one over on me. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know if I am as much of a fan when Im working with them HAHA, I only do their shows in Il,In, Ws, and Mn. I am ,however, still with MTB on regular basis till october. Email me and we will talk more. Im "Taking the Highway" Bye.
Against my better judgement here I go.............. Stop me if I've got this wrong, but .............. I believe this whole thing started from a few people saying they disliked Molly Hatchet's version of Dreams which is entirely OK. I know several people who prefer MH's version to the original, but you won't find them here because ....... this is "THE" ABB website. Then all of a sudden out of left field comes ol' holdover being ugly to everybody because of his resume gives him some kind of right? Oh, forget it.....
Hey I liked Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd back in the day. Still might go see a show by them, but in all honesty they are basically nostalgia acts. The current ABB and certainly the one that reformed in 89 weren't and aren't about nostalgia. The ABB of today are keeping "rock" alive by putting out "new" valid and (I think) great music by actual musicians.
And everybody here knows I'm an expert because I caught Yngwie Malmsteen's pick once. Man don't all your silly credentials pale in comparison to that? I thought so.

All anyone here did and/or said was comment on the fact that they don't like MH's 'version' of Dreams. I saw no one slam MH, the members, their history, etc., etc. I absolutey hate that MH song. My dad loved Molly Hatchet and I listened to a lot of them, growing up. I consider Flirtin' with Disaster a rock classic. That said, I hate their 'Dreams.' That is an opinion - it is ridiculous to slam me for saying that. A friend of ours here doesn't care for Rocking Horse...yet no one insults him and calls him trailer trash, etc. And, another thing - the members of Molly Hatchet may be phenomenal human beings, friends of Greggs, friends of whomever. That will never and doesn't change the fact that I don't like that song. It's like it's OK to have an opinion unless it differs from whoever - what the F is that?! And I don't care if someone manages Mule, the ABB, Barry Manilow, and Captain and f'n Teniel (sp) - it doesn't friggin' mean I have to agree or ever respect your opinion or be impressed with you insulting posts here.
Enjoy the weekend fine folks. 😎
Finally a fan of theirs!! The ABB highly regards them, as MH respects them and we both know they are not the original members but they carry on the tradition and it gets crazy backstage. A cool story from Phil (the Now lead singer), I'd like to tell you. I'll check out your E-mail address. Peace!!
