In the spirit of an upcoming GAF tour:
Gregg Allman
"Queen of Hearts"
Once I was glad,
Always happy never sad,
And every day
Seemed like Sunday
And although things were slow
Never seemed to have no dough
Somehow, I never once got lonely
Ya' see the fact is more or less
You're gamblin' with your own happiness
And most all your would be friends
Turn out so phoney
Oh but times they change
And rearrange
And I'll sing to the Queen of Hearts
Don't know where to start
Or how to stop
And after things have come and gone
Left me feelin'
That I've done so wrong
Oh, I wasted so much time
Feelin' guilty
And as I watch you sit across the room
Beautiful as the flowers bloom
T'Leave it lay just one day
Oh brother you're gonna come back
To find it gone
I love you Queen of Hearts
Tell me not to stop
Just tell me where
To start
Where now baby
Tell me where to start
And after all that we've been through
I find that when I think of you
A warm soft wind runs
through and through
And in my heart
there's only you
And I will always keep on trying
To gather this strange piece of mind
Without it there'd be
Lonely me and
Oh darlin' lonely you
I love you Queen of Hearts
Don't tell me when to stop
Tell me when to start
I love you Queen of Hearts
Tell me not to stop
Just tell me where
To start
No, he's only played with The Dead (as opposed to the Grateful Dead), that was last year. He was part of Phil's band for a couple of years before that. The bulk of his career was with the Volunteers and the Zen Tricksters, which got started as a Grateful Dead cover band.
Was Rob a member of the Dead when Jerry was alive?
Its Rob Barraco. He is a great Keyboard player played with everyone Mule, The Other ones, the Dead, Phil and Friends, ABB as guests or a reg member.
I will now prove again my ignorance. Could somebody please tell who Rob Morroco is. I'm sure I have misspelled his name.
I finally upgraded my computer today. I no longer have Windows 89. I don't have to hot wire my computer to start it. I now have Windows XP. I think that stands for extra problematic. LOL.
Johnny,
Thank you my friend!! You have brought me to tears. God bless you for you ARE truly a wonderful soul. :angel2:
Yeah, yeah more concert talk for those east of the Mississippi. Those west of the aforementioned big muddy continue to suck air!

Congrats to the Peachy award winners! Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!
All this GAF talk. In some ways I must say I like GAF as much as ABB shows. I dig the small theatre / small amp blues approach.
Row J for GAF at the Ala. Theatre.
Rusty, thanks for the heads-up!

It would be great if GA&F threw in a Tab show also. I think I read somewhere (forum?) that Gatemouth has had a recent bout with cancer...Perhaps this is a benefit show. Some good eats near the VP. I used to always eat at The Vortex and then I found Mangrove Alley just up the street and eat there more than I should.
The Saturday after GA&F has Hot Tuna playing the Playhouse. Already have purchased my tickets for both shows. Hope to see everyone there. (not to forget Derek on Dec 30).
Derek Trucks Band at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz 2-11-05. Great news, thanks for posting that Brad, made my day!! :slider: :guitar:
BTW, Sonny Landreth at The Catalyst tomorrow night.
That is interesting if that is the only Gregg & Friends show in Atlanta. Gregg playing with GB and his new Friends band sounds VERY interesting. Count me in (although I'm surprised GA&Friends are headining the Tabernacle like their past few tours).

As posted by my pal Nancy SS on the DTB listserv:
CLARENCE "GATEMOUTH" BROWN WITH SPECIAL GUESTS GREGG ALLMAN & FRIENDS
Saturday, January 8, 8:30pm, $20
Whatever you do, don't refer to multi-instrumentalist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown as a bluesman, although his imprimatur on the development of Texas blues is enormous. You're liable to get him riled. If you must pigeonhole the legend, just call him an eclectic Texas musical master whose interests encompass virtually every roots genre imaginable. Country, jazz, even calypso play a prominent role in his concerts; he is as likely to launch into an old-time fiddle hoedown as a swinging guitar blues tune. Gatemouth will be backed up by a stellar list of musicians including the legendary Gregg Allman on keyboards.
As I told Matt last night, I obviously made a big mistake in not going to the Fox this year. He and others tried to tell me. I should have flown to Florida and picked up BigMike and drove up. Ouch, ouch, from the beating of my head. I started the year at the Beacon, have Red Rocks as my "home venue" and should have finished at the Fox. Hindsight is perfect vision!
Hey Westcoasters! The Derek Trucks Band will be out west in Feb.
2/10 at the Great American Music Hall in S.F. and 2/11 at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz! Tickets are on sale on the venue websites.
How about that...a KMart commercial with Coltrane blowing Favorite Things in the backround...
