>>> Just not too, too keen on dragging a tent and sleeping bag thru the airport and onto the plane...although that's not impossible to do.... One option, Jim, and it's one that I've used in the past for both camping gear and ski equipment is to ship some of your stuff ahead of time via UPS or your favorite carrier, then get it back the same way. If you're a classic over-packer like me, it's worth it to just not have to deal with the bulky stuff at the airport. Ron

Ed....a few thoughts on your "facts": 1. Glad we are quoting GQ now for good sports analysis and opinion. 3. Within 2.5 hours of Atlanta on any given Fall Saturday, there are 90K in Athens, 45K at Ga Tech, 85K in Clemson, 85K in Auburn and 107K at Tennessee....all those stadiums are loaded with metro Atlanta fans. No better college football town in America (guess we don't want to bring up Temple, eh?). On top of that the Braves have sold 34 million regular season tickets in the last 13 years....I guess we don't want to compare that to the Phillies who played in a larger stadium, eh? 5. ??, not sure that makes sense, but are we saying with a straight face that Falcons fans are worse behaved than Eagles fans (ask Michael Irvin when he was taken off on a stretcher). FWIW, the Falcons are selling out every game in recent years even with the area loaded with transplants (who then come on the radio to complain about local fans, which they are a part of....) Loserville title was dropped when we won the World Series, so you'll have to come up with something better than that.

I was hoping that the "innocent" part of that line was sarcasm, Drew! That's how I saw it, anyway. 😀

Right...."innocent." It's comments like that which enables pro athletes to get away with taking no accountability for their actions. And I'm not blaming the person who posted this, as it was quoting someone else....I'm just sayin'...

Bad info, Ed as to Aaron's record-breaking homer. Don't know your source, but I was there. Total sellout. Obvious when you watch replays. The truth is that the following night (Tues.), despite being a total sellout, there were less than 5000 actual attendance. Over 45,000 no-shows. All 4 dates with the Dodgers (Mon.-Thurs.) sold out after Aaron tied the record the previous Fri. in Cincinnatti, as people wanted to be there for history. Once he broke the record on Monday Night Baseball, nobody cared and tossed their tickets. The Braves were awful then, always finished last. FWIW.

For those of you that don't want to fly with your tents to the Wanee Fest, you can actually rent a tent and sleeping bag at the Country Store they have on-site. The number is 386/364-4841 . I think they will even set your campsite up for you - www.musicliveshere.com . AND, they have golf carts for rent too 🙂

I am really looking forward to seeing the Steelers and The Patriots play. Both teams earned the right to be there. I am for the Pats as I think they are the best complete team. Love their defense! Cory Dillion was not there in the regular season. Is Ty Law and Richard Seymour able to play? Steelers are a great team so whoever wins the AFC I think will win the Superbowl. Atlanta has earned the right to be there this year, their defense is real good. Their offense is tough to defend when Vick can take off on ya at any time. Wish TO was gonna be playing so Phili would be at full strength. I am hoping the Eagles win as Donovan and Andy Reid are both Class acts. I am still not happy the Giants gave up on this season when they were 5-3 and 8-8 got ya in the playoffs. Pathetic. Its not pretty being a Giant fan these days

PS. The Dawgs also play in a 90,000 plus seat stadium so that helps as far as them out drawing the Falcons go. Of course they only play 6 home games to the Falcons 8.

Ed, In Atlanta, and Georgia for that matter, Georgia Bulldawg football is king, all else pales in comparison as far as fan support goes (I'm sure Hophead and JNB will have something to say about this ;)). I am a Georgia grad so naturally I root for them, and always have, but when it comes to pro sports teams I root for the Chicago clubs (Cubs, not White Sox, I was born in Chicago, but raised in Ga., we moved down here when I was three). I think a lot of folks in Atlanta are like this. A lot of transplanted fans down here. That being said would love to see the Falcons win. Ryan

PhillyBob, The Eagles will not beat either AFC team that goes to the Superbowl. With that said, we all know how your team plays in the big game. You might be getting ahead of yourself. LOL! Sorry could not resist. Falcons vs Pats in the Super Bowl
