lefty was kind enough to take a photo of Jack Pearson with Lee and myself at the Cotton Club in Atlanta before Jack's gig last Septmber the day after he sat in with the ABB at the Fox.
What a class act Jack is. A buddy of mine (OK, PeachyPeteWi) described Jack's playing as "fluid." I think's about as good a description as any.
And I really enjoyed seeing Jimmy Hall with GAF the few times I saw him. Only wish I had seen him with Wet Willie.
Thanks, lefty, and congrats!
I often forget to check in with jambase.com, due to its propensity in the past towards sucking pretty bad. But that site has really turned things around in recent months. A great review of a February DTB show from San Fran, with a few pics of the band and special guest Jimmy Herring.
And there's a good photo gallery from a GA&F February show in Cleveland at the HOB.
Kudos to jambase.com!

Thanks to Joe Bell and all those at Hittin the Note..there are no musicians that I admire, respect and draw inspiration from more that the ABB..a humbling and proud day for our little band..
Part of my philosophy of life has for years been that the reason we have jerks in the food chain is to keep us from taking good people for granted.
On another topic, I posted a response to Brofan's JH&POL forum post, I'll put up a bit here. I've gotten to know Jack and Jimmy a little bit over the last few months--both class acts, both superb musicians. (See Pictures/fans/pages 9-10)
Jack doesn't tour much, mostly working in the studio in Nashville. When he does tour, he prefers working with his current project, the Jack Pearson Band.
Fortunately, we're getting another dose of Jack and Jimmy together on March 26.
Point is, whether it's Jack and Jimmy and the POL, OPM, Lefty & NM, this kind of quality is getting harder to find. When club owners put up cash, and quality music is available, it deserves support. If it's taken for granted, it will surely fade away.

drcheese, you are entitled to your opinion, but regarding my own somewhat similar experience, Lana was able to correct a ticket problem of mine due to conflicting email addresses. The wonderful thing about it was that she fixed things without ever letting me know she was trying to correct them. I came home from vacation and found 2 envelopes from TM, one of them containing 4 orchestra pit seats that I was not expecting. Anyone who occasionally posts here knows of all the good that Lana does. You are dead wrong with your assessment of the situation my friend.
Here is an interesting post from Craigslist. Follow the link or cut and paste it if does not appear as a link.

Cut and paste it, I can never figure out how to make a link.
Be safe,
John
I posted this in the Forum...thought it might draw/provoke some interest here as well...
Jimmy Hall and the Prisoners of Love with Jackie Pearson on PBS
Anybody else catch this on PBS last Saturday night?
If so, any info would be appreciated, like venue, date, any plans for rebroadcast, etc.
Man, it was great to see Jackie tearin' it up. Would love to know when and if it comes back on so I can blow the dust off the VCR and get a tape loaded...
I guess I wasn't that toasted!! It was the camera operators fault. Dave will get a kick out of seeing his name in print here. He is a jokester, but he is also a good designated driver for us since I am still learning moderation!
And for any who have not seen him lately, Southpaw has jet black hair/moustache and looked a lot different than at Red Rocks.
Anyone know of any good shows coming up? Well, until I get my fix, starting next Thursday, it's back to the grindstone.
However, for anyone out in my neck of the woods, HTW's own Goldtop & band, GLRBR, will be performing the last Fillmore show this Friday night, down in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains. If you're in the area, come and get your fix.
"the LS dates were always around the 3rd of the month or check day"
Talk about making something up! The slightest effort at checking your facts would have revealed that:
1) They only toured with Skynyrd in one month, October.
2) The 3rd of October was actually an off day, and the tour ran until the 10th, well after the first of the month by any reasonable standard.
The idea that the tour was planned around people's paydays is silly at best. Even though I'm not a Skynyrd fan, the idea that Skynyrd fans are all broke and living in trailer parks is also ridiculous. There are plenty of wealthy Skynyrd fans, just as there are plenty of broke ABB fans.
Happy Birthday Art. Have a good one!
Must be a really new newbie to be coming on here slamming Lana.Buddy you need to put your best apologizin' face on and get to it.
Live Mule on philzone radio right now!
:birthday: Art! Hope you're having a great day!
Thanks for the reminder Leah. I tuned in last night, thinking they were on, but moe. was the house band. Considering his history (MTV) I'm wondering if these musical choices reflect Carson's taste. Whatever the case, I love it.
I have a new VCR. If I can get it set up, I'll record the shows.
The ABB will be taping on the 23rd as the musical guests. Ticket info is on the home page.

there is no need to blast this website, web managers or band...the presale instructions were plain...you had to be a member in order to purchase. If instructions were not followed, orders were going to be canceled. I have bought tickets through the presale for years - sometimes one lucks out with great seats, sometimes one has to wait for the "regular" onsale. you are the only one to blame for paying scalper prices. There are always ways to get tix at face: look at everyone selling tickets on the Forum. You need not be compensated for stupitidy for helping scalpers stay in business. Lana is one of most honest and hard working people to keep this site up and running, along with her job....
Reminder - Mule is the house band on Last Call with Carson Daly all week - 1:30 am on channel 4 - NY - tonight they are also the musical guest - rats too late for me!
Never this cold.
Oh crap - Now I remember back in college saying hell would freeze over before I make 47...
