Jack, I appreciate each and every one piece of music that I received. Today Debbie sent off some music to some people. It made me feel so good to give back. Makes me want to do it even more!

I got a message on my voice mail just now from JNB -- he said he and WillieHoward were sitting in the Beacon Theater listening to the Brothers rehearsal. In his message he said that Gregg had three new songs: Faces Without Names, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Wayne Newton's Big Hair. Hmmm. I called him on his cellphone, and to uproarious laughter he admitted having made it all up, of course. Had me going for a few seconds ... He also said he is really looking forward to the HTN party as a way to give something back to all the fine folks here. I won't be up until the second weekend, but everyone there this Saturday please stop by the Beacon second floor conference room for some special treats! BEACON!

$152.00 tickets to go see U2 in Atlanta! I don't think so....DaveFM e-mails me (why?) and says that if I e-mail others as part of the 'fan base' I might get a lower rate on the loan that I would have to take out to buy the tickets!!! All kiddin' aside, "U-who?". Something is all wrong in the world where a pompus &^%$ is being considered for any position of world importance. The REAL work of the world is not done by those seeking photo-ops. Sorry. It is the real people of this world out there putting one foot in front of the other. You want to know who I call hero? The ditch digger with the sixth-grade education that works tirelessly to put all his children thru medical school. The cleaning lady that gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to a school she spent her life slaving over. I wonder how many people looked down on her as she sat silently in a corner eating a PB&J? We make heros out of Martha Stewart and the Donald Trump's of this world because we can. They entertain us, they provide a living for many people. They just don't dig ditches or eat PB&J...DaveFM, you keep your crummy U2 offers. Can't believe I typed all of that without once mentioning mullets or Utah. (how about a new basketball team...The Utah Mullets.:-p

I get back from the doctor today and find in my mailbox more music. Thanks to Jack, Dan, Rob, Gerald, Leah, Libby, Jeff, Michael and everyone else I have enough music to last me the rest of my life. I told you that Carol sent me a printer yesterday. Way cool. This benevolence is bringing tears again. I feel like a nurd crying like this. I got one piece of music today that is very special. BLD sent me an extra copy that she had of GM Deep End Vol1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man it rocks. Jack Bruce on the first song, sounding on vocals like he did in '68. Again thanks you all so much.

North Chicago and my old home town Waukegan both followed the Gary Indiana Rust Belt Urban decay model. Once the factories closed down like US Steel, Johns Manville and Johnson Motors, the blue colar jobs and middle class disappeared. And the local political leadership did nothing to try to diversify the economic base. Now Kenosha Wi on the other hand did it the right way. They could have gone down the tubes just like Waukegan, N.C. and Gary when AMC/Chrysler closed their plant. However the local leaders in Kenosha diversified their economic base through low industial building rent incentives, tax cuts and good urban industrial planning. So my point is cities like N.C and Waukegan brought it upon themselves by not reacting and being proactive. All one has to do is look at how nice Kenosha is with a fantastic harbor, new lake front condominiums, and ample green space and diversified economic base and consequently low unemployment to see how it should have been done.

Beacon Fever! Can't wait to party with you all. Anybody going this weekend that wants to get together send me a PM. This should be an epic run. Something else I recommend for those coming from out of town - if you haven't seen the Natural History Museum - you really should. It is awesome, and not far from the Beacon. Peace(h) John Also - till we get that annoying post filter thingy - Let's try not to feed the TROLL. I think that's why he comes around. Hi Rich! Hi Lee! We cool! He not!
