Thanks to everyone who has sent me shows. A special thanks to beautiful Carol. She sent me a show today and included my wife(Debbie) on the CD's. I showed her that and her face lit up. She thaught it was so cool that Carol and others include her in responces to pm's and mail. Of course she is "killing independent George." Worlds collide. Now that she gets on the site too. Michael, don't scare me. I hear it is just a routine operation.

Thanks to everyone for their caring and support. I received a check today which will be used for medical purposes. It is so nice when you realize that their are many people out there that care for you. My computer got messed up, but is working now as you can see. I bet I missed alot of what is going on. Gonna have to go back through the GB to catch up. IT looks like now I will be having gall bladder surgery next week, no biggy. Love to everyone.

Lana: LOL! That was great.... Hey, you can add another one, I think. Seems to me I once heard Thin Lizzy is worshiped in Ireland, and U2 loves them. Is that true?? Also, can a Yank mention they would like to visit Innisfree? (The Quiet Man...my all time favorite movie) Rick

Here there sweet family, Getting a call from Sheyenne from the St. Patrick's Day parade inspired me to share this Music O'Lesson with you: Lesson 1: How to Identify an Irish Rock Band Contrary to popular belief, identifying an Irish rock group is not always easy. However, there are a couple of surefire signs for identifying a band's homeland: If, during a live performance, a group goes on a 30 - 45 minute political tirade, you've got yourself an Irish band - U2 If the lead singer of the group in question is a female with close-cropped hair or no hair at all, then that band is Irish - Sinead O'Connor or The Cranberries If the group includes a female vocalist who frequently incorporates long exaggerated yodeling solos, the band is either Irish or Jewel. Lesson 2: Proper Etiquette Irish Rock Band Encounters There are a few basic rules of proper etiquette when for face-to-face encounters with Irish rock bands: Avoid slipping into your fake Irish accent Avoid quoting any lines from Lucky Charms Breakfast Cereal commercials (aside: awwww, where's the fun???) Avoid attempts to demonstrate a knowledge of Irish rock music by referencing U2 or The Cranberries Always buy each of the band-members a beer before beginning any conversation. However, be careful to avoid political discussions after members consume said beverage. Lesson 3: Where Do Irish Rock Bands Come From? Everybody knows that almost every Irish rock band comes from some place in Ireland. However, it's going to take more than that to show any real knowledge of the topic. And, even though it's not necessary to know exactly where any particular Irish band comes from, it is helpful to familiarize yourself with a few key geographic regions. By memorizing the following list of Irish cities, you should be able to bluff your way through just about any conversation about Irish rock. Remember, it's only necessary to memorize the names of the cities and not which groups are from each one. Also, note that most popular Irish rock groups are from Dublin. So, when in doubt, always use Dublin as a band's default city of origin: Belfast, Ireland (Stiff Little Fingers, Van Morrison) Dublin, Ireland (The Chieftains, Sinead O'Connor, Thin Lizzy, U2, Virgin Prunes, Hothouse Flowers) Dun Laoghaire, Ireland (Boomtown Rats) Gweedore, Donegal, Ireland (Enya) Ulster, Northern Ireland (Ash) Limerick, Ireland (The Cranberries) Take care and know that you are, oh, loved, Lana
