everyone left the Beacon with a smile........ I'am still smiling....still tired though
I've been following the reviews and set lists from this run like a baseball fan who's team is in the thick of the pennant race. Thanks for all the reviews. Even veteran fans I know who aren't into this site are claiming Saturday was hands down the best show they've seen by the ABB. So far my impression is last Monday and Saturday night were the ones to see with all the shows beign special in one way or another. For several reasons, tomorrow will be my only show I can see during this run and man , I'm like al little kid on Christmas Eve. I'm a huge Mule and DTB fan so I really can't ask for a better show. I keep thinking it might top the one for woody.
Lammie,
The only way to top this year's jam is to be the opening act at the Beacon next year!
Talk to your agent Lam!

:fanfare: Happy Birthday Randy :birthday:
May all your dreams come true:inlove:
*if they haven't already*
It was so wonderful that you were able to "stop by" the Beacon this past weekend! Even better that you were able to get a show in. Very cool indeed!
And how cool was it to see Dave & Pam Stoltz! Love ya sooooo much!!!
:squeeze: A hug to GailAgain and Buffalo Bill. Two very special people! It was so good to see you on our annual 'reunion'.
:inlove:My love to Cheryl/Ladybird. It was so good to finally meet you face to face!!! Good to meet Sherry too.
Sweeties, you're the most wonderful, generous women I've had the honor to call my friends. I admire all of you so very much.
Hey Twangster, sure was cool sharing the shows with ya. Glad we had some time to spend together as well. A zillion thanks to our wonderful spouses Debbie and Frank who are so very cool
New slogan: SQUEEZE A PEACH!
1 hour to i leave for the city!!!!!!!
I am working on the PC in one room, but had the Beacon DVD on in another room, pretending that I WAS there, and walked by as "Soulshine" was playing. Man, isn't that beautiful!
Thanks to all that posted here during the run, especially my fellow Smoke-Eater, Cujo.
Randy, is the JFD going to be Oct 28-29 this year? I told you I'd be there if I got a new truck. The gods of rock n roll smiled and I have a truck that will make the trip now.
If I was within driving distance there is no way you could keep me from the ABB w/Chuck tonight. Hopefully, they will pull out Desdemona, Mountain Jam and Jessica like 2001. Put him on Soulshine for that soulful intro he did w/Warren on the Mule tour. Maybe surprise us and let Chuck tackle a new one. Have fun tonight!
PS - SmilingJack lives up to his name...
Thanks Carol, you beautiful lady you.
Hello world! Just got back from the eye doctor and got the coolest looking glasses. I also found out that my problem is not my gall bladder. Now I have them all stumped. The pain is unbearable sometimes. It would be nice to find a diagnosis. Other than that I am great.
:rainbow:Happy Bday, Randy:rainbow:
Thanks for keeping the spirit alive...
Huge thanks to Scotty and Rich for their unwavering hospitality this past weekend. I can't tell you how much I appreciate ya'll putting a roof over our heads and making us feel right at home. Rich...thanks for the 'red bull'. 😀
I had a ball jammin' with everyone...I hope everyone who wanted to play got a chance. I wish we had about five more hours to play! LOL. I never do names because I'm afraid I'll have a brain fart and forget someone so forgive me if that happens. Lefty(a kindred spirit indeed) Brother Buka, Barry,Bart, Mitch,Eddie,Bill E,Joe T. Sheep, Scotty, Chuck, Pnutt, Tommy...thank you for lending your incredible talents to the Jam proceedings. I don't know how we will top this one...maybe we'll have to play on the roof next time!
Thanks as always to those wonderful Sweeties just for being who they are...love you gals! 🙂
It was such a pleasure to see everyone, I just wish I had more time to spend with these fine folks...oh well, sometimes you must go for quality time not quantity time.
Last but not least, thanks to my spiritual gurus, :fish::bounce: I love you wacky madcaps!
Hey all....
Had to poke my head in and give due to the Leftys and the Sweeties for a fantasmic weekend. Y'all are a great bunch...
Slammer - you are a classic, man. Had me rolling all weekend.
Hope to see most of ya again on Tues at the Big House show. FYI: Ive got an extra pair at face if anyones left out...

:birthday: Randy! It was a pleasure meeting you. Hope you have a great day.
Beautiful post Lefty....you've expressed what I think most of here feel. As long as we keep this going, Duane is alive. I really felt it this past weekend. It's him, the rest of the band, past and present along with Lana and Rowland who make it possible to keep this "thing" going. Can we ever thank them enough?
:birthday: Randy, Wharf Rat & Mike!!!
So much fun over the past 4 days. Can't add much about the shows, that hasn't been said. When a band achieves greatness, it's not about a solid, consistent performance. It is all about making magic within the music. The original lineup did that so well. This current band is doing the same. Some of the moments in the past three shows, are among the best I've ever heard. Warren's solo on Egypt Friday night. Derek's on Mt Jam. Liz Reed & Dreams on Saturday. Moments like that, cut right through to the core.
The parties!! These parties do not have to be held, but they are because of the overwhelming generousity of others. I know Scotty & Big Rich, put their blood, sweat and tears into making that party perfect. What a party it was!! Great fun getting to jam with all the others and huge thanks to Lammie & Buka for providing the equipment. The Hospitality Sweeties seem to go above and beyond each year and it's all for a great cause. :clapping:
:birthday: Randy! :birthday:
Nice seeing you at the Beacon!
Happy birthday, to Wharfy and Buppalo....Randy , I don't know of anyone that could possibly do more to keep Duanes memory and legacy alive...you are the real deal brother and I hope your day is a great one..
The weekend...well it is still a blur but Scotty and the leftcoasters threw a wonderful bash...I was honored to be a part of it..thanks to Lammmie and pals for lugging the gear in ..Lammie , you are a kindred spirit and it was too fun..
Karen and Lynn Bomberry , you empitomize warmth and giving..you have no idea how much I respect you...the world at large could take a few lessons in class from the two of you..
The sweeties....this group of women worked TIRELESSLY to make sure thier mission was accomplished...that mission ? work endless hours to help raise money for two very worthy causes and throw a party that everyone could attended free of charge...all i can say is it is an HONOR to know you and be a part of it...
i will post more as the time allows ( i am catching up today)...but I sit here about as humbled as I ever have been...we need to keep it going folks...this is too precious to let go...
Finally......to brother Duane Allman....thank you..your spirit seemed to be the driving force that planted this seed...and this was a determined seed that lived through good times and bad and blossomed into the most glorious of trees...a tree that bears fruit in ways even you could not have imagined...Skydog, you are the real deal and you live not only through the music, but through the love we all share for one another..and last but not least..Lana and Rowland...lets not kid ourselves..many of us connected here..these two beautiful people get it...and have helped most of us connect via this site...thank you much.... I am grateful beyond words..
I will talk about the music later as i am still trying to pick my overwhelmed musicians body up off the floor..
I love you all...
I'm a bit under the weather today since I caught a cold in New York, but luckily I didn't get sick until I got home!
Here's wishing a Great Big Guest Book Happy Birthday to Brother Buppalo. I am proud to know you, Randy.
Did anyone catch the Yon Rico Scott Band last night? Where's the stories?
Too tired to post about this past weekend just now, but I do want to take this opportunity to shout out a great big :birthday: to Randy. I hope your special day is everything you want it to be my friend. It was such a nice surprise to see you in NYC and to spend some time with you! Looking forward to the next time our paths cross. Yes, Jacquie, he does ROCK!
To my fellow Hospitality Sweeties, thanks for another A-MAY-ZEN weekend! I love you all! Hope you all are enjoying your day off. Next year, I'll do the same, as I'm finding it difficult to stay upright in my chair *smile*
SLAMMER!!!!
I am curious, Is this album Mar Y Sol hard to come by if so someone let me know, I will gladly make it available to your site
:birthday: Randy!!
Buppalo is one of the kindest, most gentle, loving souls I've ever met. I've known Randy for years, met him through this website. We were friends for several years before we actually met face to face in NY in 2003.
If you ever find yourself looking for someone who understands and lives "the brotherhood" it's Randy Stephens!
Happy birthday, my friend, my brother! May God's love shine through you always.
Big :birthday: wishes to Wharfy and Mike too!
It's always a blast to read the Beacon tales, I missed everyone this year!
Charlesinator, I know I can speak for the Sweeties when I say we are not worthy. We do this because we love the music, the band and all of the wonderful people here. We are a lucky, lucky group. This is a magical place and there's no place like home.
And Randy, you rock!
