David Lindley is one of my favorite practinioners of stringed musical instruments. I saw him a few years back doing an "unplugged" gig with an accompanying percussionist (bongo-ist might be a better term). Mister Dave played bazoukis, banjos, dulcimers ... just about everything that had strings sans a guitar. Incredible show! I've got an album with Lindley, Ry Cooder, Juaquin (sp?) Cooder and a female Lindley (Mr. Dave's daughter perhaps?) doing a live gig. Great album. I would've loved to have seen that show in "73.

It was the '73 school year, Mercer University campus, Wilingham Chapel...Jackson Browne on grand piano, David Lindley on fiddle. WOW Simply beautiful music...! 2nd show was for Mercer students only (which I was not)...Gregg Allman sat in for a couple of songs and played acoustic guitar! A fine time was had by all!

Gregg, Warren, Derek, Oteil, Butch, Jaimoe and Marc: I hope you all had as much fun as we did over the last couple weeks. I feel rejuvenated every time I see you play, and after each show lately, it's the same refrain: That had to be the BEST show I've ever seen! Thank you so much. peace tkirk

Stormy, Thanks for posting the lyrics to "These Days". I'm sure you know that Jackson Browne and Gregg Allman were roommates in California before the ABB, back when Gregg was with the Hourglass. Anyway, I always thought it would be cool if Jackson and Gregg would do a tour together. No band, just them two, some acoustic guitars, a piano. Be a little different, but it would be good.

Good music, good times and a very good life. I have it because I'm so lucky to be here and around when the Allmans play . Their music to me... Is like being reborn after a long winter. It's always awesome and it always makes you feel good. It's always a pleasant performance and we should all be lucky they are still playing. If Warren wasn't there and Dickey was I don't think they'd be playing at all. Warren is the real deal , they all are . Fact the only thing that Dickey brought to the band was a dark cloud depriving them (abb) from their true potential. He is a good guitarist but he couldn't get his head on straight and they were all tired of the BS. I just wanted to say thanks to ABB for still playing for us FINALLY the band is complete and Happy . Everyone gets along & you continue to make all of us happy! Warren , Dereck , Mark, and Oteil are great additions NO DOUBT Barry and Duane would be proud of you guys , I appreciate everyday I'm given and all we can do is enjoy life . Still kicking butt Gregg !!!! Good job See you at Darien Lake.

Sorry about the negative post before....I just think that ABB is playing at a level WAY abovve any other live act out there right now....I would love to see the on bills with artists that compliment them....I also am slightly bitter that I couldn't attend any Beacon shows this year....see y'all at Great Woods...

I think I have finally recovered enough from a beautiful weekend at the Beacon to try and put sentences together. I can not add much more to the show reviews other than to say WOW!! I saw the 3/17, 3/18 & 3/19 shows and to me each one had its special quality whether it be the friends I shared it with, the selection of music or in some cases both. It has been 2 years since my last Beacon and if I can help it I will not miss another. Sharing the experience with my Sweetie sisters Jacquie, Terri, Stacey, Linnie & Sari made it all the more special. Over the years these ladies have become part of my family and I love them all dearly. Thank you for being my sisters. Although the ABB and Lana & Rowland brought us all together it is the friendships we have developed that have kept us coming back. I have made some wonderful friends throughout the years and in some cases only see those folks at the Beacon each year but each time it is like time has stood still. Barb, Janet, Nicole, Leah & Chuck, Karen & Lynn, Jody, GPM, Del, Jeanne & Johnny, Scotty, Cujo, Croky, Wharfie, Mitch, Rich (Nalpak), Lammie, Buka, I am blessed to have all of you in my life. It was especially nice this year to meet some folks for the very first time like Steve (Slammer). Ladies if he is single he is quite a catch. Not only was he extremely handsome in his tuxedo but the man is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Lefty it was an honor to finally meet you & I am really looking forward to seeing you play at BB’s in May. Jon it was also an honor to meet you & thank you for getting me to the 2nd row on Thursday night – sorry you could not stay for the weekend festivities. Lee & Jim I so enjoyed meeting you both and hope to get to know you better. Origapeach, Leslie, Cheryl (Ladybird), Joe Bell & Bill it was also a pleasure to meet you all. BigMike & MicShy I wish we could have spent more time together but it was great to see both! John & Dean thank you for making me laugh so hard I thought my cheeks would fall off. You two are the best! Happy belated birthday to Wharfie & Randy! :birthday: I am sorry we did not know at the Beacon so that we could have celebrated. Okay……like we needed to celebrate anymore – LOL!! I know that I will have forgotten someone but please know that I am grateful for everyone that helped make this Beacon a happy experience! Can't wait til next year! Love & peace, Sherry

Unfortunately the show here is cobilled with skynard as well. The ABB could sell out these places on their own, I would much rather have them alone. with that said I am happy this band will be in my town, I am just gonna count my blessings and play cards while LS does their set and pray some drunk tweeked out Methhead is not sitting anywhere near me while the ABB play

Why are the brothers hitting the road w/ Skynyrd?! I had quite enough of them last time around....can't Mule or My Morning Jacket or even someone like Gavin DeGraw (who is handled by Johnny Podell & at least he can sing) go out with them for that stretch?? I'm tired of seeing those whiskey soaked has-beens meander through songs that 2/3 of them didn't write.......Arggghhhhhhhh........

Wow!!! What day is it? From tie dye to shirt & tie in the blink of an eye. We wanted to thank the hosts for every pre-party we attended last weekend. We had a blast, sat near very cool people both Fri. and Sat. and no one threw up near us! For me, Saturday's show was the best of my (short) run. Stormy Monday, Dreams and the Whipping Post closer did it for me. And, OOOOO Gailagain. Hope to see ya'll down the road.........
