Well folks, I didn't make it to Savannah. I'm awaiting a return flight (8:40pm) back to Philly from Atlanta. No instant setlist tonight. Talk about getting the butt end of the stick. 🙁 Gonna look for some lunch. I'll check in later.

Peachypete, you obviously are paying attention to what's happening in MLB. Now we need the rest of the country to do the same. Brofan, thanks for the plug. Just found out today I have another to mention - Saturday, July 2nd we'll be opening for Johnny Winter and Kenny Wayne Sheperd at the Naperville Ribfest. IMO, the best fest in the Chicagoland area - fun for the whole family. We hope to make that our 11 day old son's 1st concert. I highly doubt he'll make it long into Johnny's set.

The White Sox are reminding me an awful lot of the team that Ozzie Guillen was the third base coach for in 2003 and wound up winning the World Series.

A quick howdy to all the GB folks SPDB I'd love to trade barbs, but don't have time. Maybe just a quick comment about Mr. Delay, I'm really impressed with his ongoing support of sweat shops in Saipan so the industry can force their employees to live in "company stores" making a couple of bucks an hour. However, since it is an American protectorate they are able to add a "made in America" sticker on their shoes. Another fine example of capitalism @ it's finest. I beleive Mr. Bush once refered to him as the perfect Republican. Sorry - couldn't resist it (what fun!) Got XM radio last week and it is nice to see a lot of our bands getting air time. ABB, Mule, DBT, DB@GS, WSP are all regulars on a station called deep tracks. Heard 10 ABB songs, not once was there a Rambling man or Midnight rider among them. Not that hey are bad songs but on commercial FM you get the same two ro three songs every time. Have a great weekend all!!!!!!!!!

SOUTH SIDE!!!!! Hey Windy, it's nice to know there is more than 1 Sox fan on this site. I'll refrain from making comments that might offend north side fans at this point, but if the brooms are out on Sunday, my giddyness may prevent me from excercising self-control.

Jim (Benjamin), Thanks for clarifying-there's no doubt in my mind that the TM system is inefficient and ripe for corruption-especially after getting second row center seats for the Mule's 6/16 show in Chicago. It was such a incredibly less painful process than dealing with TM. But when all you've got is TM then you've got to figure out a way to beat it. Whenever there is a system, there is always a way to get around it. The challenge is figuring out how. I knew after Karen scored Pit seats that it wasn't a TM based system. Too fair and too efficient.

From Jambands.com Scrapomatic, Yonrico Scott Band and More Yesterday, we reported on a Scrapomatic tour with the Yonrico Scott Band, and the first show of said tour was a lively evening of great music culminating with four great musicians joining the YSB (which consists of Rico, Todd Smallie and Kofi Burbridge). Each band performed a full set, Scrapomatic silencing the room with their gripping guitar/voice duo music, and YSB in turn igniting the crowd with a high energy set of their own. However, it was the final set that indicated how special this brief tour looks to be. Scrapomatic’s Paul Olsen emerged to lend guitar to a spirited take on Jimmy Smith’s “Back at the Chicken Shack.” Olsen remained as Scrapomatic/DTB lead vocalist Mike Mattison took center stage to lend his sweetly soulful vocals to Jimmy Reed’s “Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby,” and Ray Charles’ “I Believe To My Soul.” The instrumentals were ferocious, with Scott and Smallie relentlessly bringing fiery rhythms, and Olsen and Burbridge going almost face to face as they traded a stunning array of licks. Toward the end of the Charles number, former Parliament Funkadelic member Doug Smith jumped up to join Kofi behind the keys much to the delight of the attentive crowd. After this, Olson and Mattison chose to watch the final number, as Augusta guitarist Elliot Holden took the stage, and he, Smith and the YSB performed an extended version of Wayne Shorter’s “Footprints.” After several minutes of exuberant cheering from the Decatur crowd, the YSB returned in their usual trio form to perform Herbie Hancock’s “Chameleon.” As discussed yesterday, this mini-tour moves to the Bourbon Street Bar in Auburn, AL tonight and concludes tomorrow night at Fusion Jazz & Blues Club, Richmond, VA. I feel compelled to mention that Elliot Holden Band recently released their second CD, Radiance, and they will be performing tonight at the Racktime Billiards Club in Greenwood, SC, and at The Joint in Clemson, SC on June 16.
