What does Michael Jackson like about 28 year olds?
There's 20 of them!!
I don't get the Cher joke.
I think the guy's a creep... I did my best not to follow this case, but I do think he's a danger to kids. I don't know why any sane parent would let their children go anywhere near him.
A boycott probably wouldn't matter. He hasn't put a CD out in years and it's been even longer since he's had a hit. These days he's famous for being a famous freak, not a musician.
Or Michael Jackson could cruise the "Toys R Us" with CHER!
June 14th marks ten years since the passing of one of the greatest of the greats when it comes to rock-blues guitar. I always mark his passing on this site every June 14 and this year is no different, just sadder than most... I could write and write about Rory but I think this link will do if you want to know more about the man. Check out Duane on the cover of the book; just one photo over from Rory.

Hophead's story about seeing Rory 12 shows in a row, all in one week, is a classic! A very special thanks to Jtuna,Stephane,Brofan,Harvey, and PeterK for sending me Rory shows just because you also believed in the man. I can not thank you enough. RIP Rory.
" When I listen to something, I like to be taken out of my seat and thrown across the room. I like guts, a good drive, which can include gentle stuff too. If it sounds good and feels good, that's it." Rory Gallagher
Now Michael Jackson can go to Wal-Mart. He heard they had little boy's pants half off. Ta-dum.
Was Michael Jackson on trial? What was it this time, sleeping with young boys?
If there could be a verdict for just being stupid he'd be Guilty on all counts.
He is ill and so are parents who allow their children anywhere near him.
Here's an idea lets not buy any of his cd's. Maybe he'll just go away
And another thing....
Just kidding. I've said all I'm going to say on that subject.
Anyone have any news about Cream? Are they going to do any US shows?

And I thought this was the one place I could go and not hear about Michael Jackson! Just kidding fellas...

I certainly agree that a grown man sleeping in the same bed as children is some fu**ed up stuff. What I feel though, and what has been very widely reported, is that the mother and the child had their credibility completely shot out of the water. And they do come off as people trying to goldbrick.
I would never, EVER defend child molestation. But do any of us really know what went on? No. We don't, and the court has spoken. This isn't like the OJ case, where anybody with half a brain knew he was guilty as hell.
Yeah, Micheal's way too weird for words. No doubt. And if he is a child molester, he'll have to answer to a WAY higher authority than a California court some day.
Did he do it this time? I don't know. Did he do it before? Don't know that, either. They couldn't prove it. But until they make general weirdness a felony (and after all, that's what the court of public opinion convicted Micheal on), then any law enforcement should get "their ducks sho-nuff in a row" before they prosecute.
But, yeah--absolutely, I wouldn't let my kid near his weird ass. No way.
To me it's funny. If the guy is a celebrity he's a "wierd cat" You and I would be stone perverts and in jail getting to know Bubba a lot better than we mght like. I'm not defending the parents but to beleive there is not now, or at some point will be behaviour going on @ Neverland that is not in the child's best interest is insane. There is not innocent, normal or acceptable about a forty something man sleeping with little boys. He needs serious help.
My fear is that Derek or Warren will leave the ABB to concentrate on their bands before I see the group. Man I wish they would announce the KC show. I have decided to see Robert Cray in Oct. That is a long time away. I need something in between. Maybe the Archies will come around.
Rich, WELCOME TO NC!!!
Now you can go hear "my" guys - Part Time Blues Band with Rusty Barkley!!
Now you can go to the Double Door Inn in Charlotte to hear some of the best blues - ok, it's not Chicago, but we dont have as much snow either!!
And yes, now you can go to Xmas Jam!!
I'm looking forward to your moving Southbound!!
You know, I'm not a fan of Michael Jackson's (although I'll be the first one ot say he is very talented. Just not my cup of tea), and maybe he did some bad stuff years back. Maybe he was guilty now. But the fact remains, the parents are, at least in my mind, the guilty ones here. They attempted to line their pockets by, essentially, pimping out their kid. Micheal's a strange cat. Why on Earth would you want your kid to hang out with him, if not to try to cash in on it.
This was a vendetta by the SB Co DA's office, pure and simple. They blew their big chance 10 years ago, and they were pissed off about it. so they waited for another oppurtunity. And they blew it again. Talk about credibility issues....
Look, I don't buy Micheal's music, anyway, so this will have no bearing for where and how my entertainment dollar is spent.
Btw, Pink Floyd's going to do a one-off gig for African (I think) charities. That's worth some attention in my book.

Rich, don't believe anything Lefty says about cheese grits.:-p
BTW-Michael Jackson found not guilty on all 10 counts....
Heck, brofan -- bring Lefty and the boys with you! We'd love to have the No Mercy Band based down South.
Randy,
I'll be sure to mark my calendar for the JFD. It might the closest chance I'll get to see Lefty now that I'll be leaving Chi-town and the Midwest in my rear view mirror....
Indeed. I may have a personal "black sock burning" ceremony when the demon is defeated.
Brofan, I highly recommend you keep Oct. 28-29 open on your schedule, now that you're in the neighborhood.

Seeing Tony post again reminded me of something that I just now learned about an old buddy of mine.
Greg and I went to paramedic school together way back in 1983. A lot of sweat went into the learning process for two knucklehead firefighters. 'put the wet stuff on the red stuff' was our creed and this medic stuff was going to be a sideline to our job. We laughed too much for anything to ever be serious to us. Firefighters have the strangest way of relieving pressure. The MTV show 'punked' only has it half right....
Anyway we graduated and went about the business of patching bullet holes and delivering babies, and more often than not, taking minor stuff to the emergency room. Throughout it all he fought fires, I fought fires, no big deal. 'Pick your rate: pick your fate'. That's an old military expression that basically means if you choose to do something, don't explain, don't complain. An excuse is just a reason why YOU didn't do your job. 100% is what is expected and 110% is what is given...
So why am I posting this? Tony's post got me to thinking about Greg. He is dead now because once on a call he contacted a patients blood and he got Hep. Simple as that. Twenty or so minutes out of his day doing the best he could to save a life and it eventually killed him.
I know that Tony started a forum thread on HepC and that perhaps there are those that wish I would've posted my post there.
I got to thinking about Greg and his dog.
That dog barked one night so long that Greg finally had to scold the dog and stop its barking. The dog wandered off, sulking. The next morning when Greg went to go to work at the fire department he was presented with his car on blocks and all four tires stolen! His dog was doing his job trying to warn him and surely had the last laugh!
Tony and others battling this silent killer need every prayer that we have. This is no game where someone wins; someone is just losing faster than the other...
When I remember Greg I remember his expression telling the dog story. When I think of Tony I think of his courage.
Pray. Pray Hard!! Remembering Greg.
Brofan maybe are paths will cross I work in the medical field to with J & J. If not I am sure I will see you at the NC ABB shows if they ever annouce them. What part of NC are you thinking of living?
