I spent Saturday at Yankee Stadium where they kicked the Cubs butts - Jeter had his first grand slam ever - which was very cool - the place went nuts, but I was more impressed with the Army - Golden Knights I believe they are called - they parachutted into the Stadium -right over the bleachers where me and my sister sit -yes we are bleacher creatures - very very cool -
Am trying to find a set list for Robert Randolph - I tried his site and setlists.com and got no where - any ideas?
Will the Les Paul show be on television anytime in the future?
Helen,
Just read your posts and your comments about Karen made me think of my granddaughter Celia. I don't know if I have told you this, but since she was 3 or so we will be listening to the CD in the car and at first she would say who is that. Later we would say, who is that and she shouted out "Thats Derek"!! Same for Govt Mule and Moe. As you know, she is a character.
We enjoyed the evening in B'ham with the Potters and NMA, Govt Mule and the Crowes totally kicked butt!!
I need a Derek fix.
any word on a possible Red Rocks shindig?
Old Coot and I have been discussing the matter...
and we are both hoping for a september show.
Steve says he's getting more handsome every day..
so by september.. he'll be easily mistaken for
Robert Redford..
or Redford's horse...
can't remember which it was...
Hey now, Krishna!
Dusty is doing great. She is already sleeping through the night without barking and whining...very surprising for a seven week old puppy! We can tell that she is going to be more independent and willful (read: stubborn) than Milhouse, but hopefully that just means that they will balance each other out. Milhouse can be, shall we say, a little clingy and codependent. He had a rough life before we adopted him from the pound.
But he is being a great big brother...very indulgent and gentle with her. I would imagine that is no easy task when she is chewing on him with her razor-sharp puppy teeth. The other day she bit down on his weiner (not sure if I can say wiener here, but I'll find out in a minute), and he wasn't real happy about it. And who can blame him? Ouch!!
Hope everyone is doing well. Only 23 days 'til my next Allman Brothers concert!!!
:bounce:
I mean I think it's illegal.
I feel so mellow I like it's illegal. The Mule kicked in B'ham last night. Peace to all.
Good morning everyone. I hope that everyone is doing well. I am going to stop posting in Swedish because I see that we have some guests from Sweden on the website.

I am too tired this morning to say too much here, but I just want you guys to know GM did not disappoint at all in Birmingham. A huge crowd was there to support, and they responded.

Was at Les Paul's 90th Birthday Celebration at Carnegie Hall last night. Great to see and hear him play... and his slightly "blue" comments were pretty funny too...
Steve Miller Band, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Jose Feliciano, Madeleine Peyroux, Bucky Pizzarelli, Neil Schon, Stanley Jordan, Edgar Winter and Derek Trucks among others played with/ without Les.
Derek played "Good Night Irene" with Les and his band. When he arrived on stage Les asked what he was going to play. When Derek replied "Good Night Irene", Les asked that "old song" ...oh I know that, what key are you going to to play it in? Derek replied "C" and Les said well that's a tough key, but we' be able to follow you. At some point Les told Derek that he had heard he was pretty good. A few times while playing Les told Derek to go for it..... Derek didn't disappoint and I saw others on the stage nodding at one another as if to say here is someone special.
Stanley Jordan is a virtuoso and great to watch. KWS did his SRV inspired deal with his band and played pretty hot. Edgar Winter looked and sounded strong - a pleasant surprise.
It was fun to hear Les and his band go. Great songs, melodies and fine musicianship all the way around. Bucky Pizzarelli played with Les and the band and it was great. I gotta check out some Bucky recordings.
Another fine night in old New York.
Morning
I have The Calling by ARU on this morning and damn if you are thinking of a CD you have not picked up I highly recommend it. Good stuff, Jimmy Herring and Oteil what else would it be, think you can just hit the ARU link as I have not seen it in stores but I could be wrong.
What a great day in the Mtns yesterday!
Monday, gotta go teach, see ya!
Good morning family!:)
Thanks to everyone who called and emailed and PMed to let me know I was missed in Macon this weekend, and to tell me of all the great little things that happened there. You all did good sending Buffalo off!
For all the Brothers and Sisters that were reunited this past weekend, please keep in touch with eachother. If you don't, I now know how to round you all up if I have to and I have help to do it too!;)
Just wanted to say that I love the ABB! Yall have contributed so much to rock! You will always be remembered as one of the greatest rock bands of all times! God Bless you all!
I am so happy to be alive......we are so lucky....do we know that ? I hope so...peace to all..:)
Helen,
I think it is very admirable for you
taking such wonderful care of your sister
Karen and providing her with a good life.
Glad she likes the vibes! 🙂
Thank you TanDan... I do hope you and all the rest of the Dad's out there had a great day today 🙂 Sure missed my Dad on this day. I'm really greatful my son has had such a great Dad even though he's had to do his job long distance all these years. My son will be flying in from LA in a few weeks and his Dad is even gonna try and come in that same weekend and join us. Love watching them play music together - bluegrass when Dad's here 🙂 See ya somewhere soon!
I've been playing "Shine It On" all day today.
My 13-year-old daughter gave me a drawing she did of the ABB for Father's Day, It's in anime-style and taken from the 'Evening With: Second Set' cover. Everybody is model-thin and the same tallness. She left Butch out because her sheet of paper wasn't wide enough; could've been anyone though. She has Woody holding Butch's drum sticks.
I'll have to post it on the site; cracks me up and shows how corrupted I've become about this site! Even my kids are aware of the 'fever'.
"Sometimes you feel like you can fly away; sometimes you get lost".
Hope all is well for you Helen. I'm thankful to have met you thru this site. I can't remember when the last time I've met a more loving and compassionate person than you!! You are always taking care of and looking out for others.
